Nyl left Neko's room with a short bow to him, heading quickly and silently for the main room. She stood in the shadow of the doorway, where none but the best would see her, squinting at Reeve and Sean, trying to figure out what was happening.

She'd fallen asleep again by the pond, this time staying far enough away that it would be hard for her to roll into the water. She had books to protect from the water as well this time. One of them was lying open next to her, as she'd been reading it before she drifted out.
As she tried to wake herself up and find where she'd left off, she heard the noise of people moving around behind her. She faintly heard a woman's voice and looked over just in time to see Nyl leave the garden, leaving behind a tall, cloaked figure. At seeing him, a small squeak made its way passed her lips. She hadn't seen this guy before and his appearance was a bit frightening to her. She quickly clamped her hands over her mouth. She wasn't so sure she wanted this person knowing she was in the garden with him.

"Enae!"
BLAM!
Reeve falls to the floor, staring up at the cieling.
"Are ye sure you're givin' up? Ye flinched...."
Sean points at Reeve's supine form with the pistol, pulling the hammer back again.

-=The hood covering Neko's head moves some as his ears perk up at the squeak. He turns and looks at Eli, his stark yellow eyes looking her over as he grinned under the cloth covering his face. He took a few steps towards her, chuckling softly=-
Working hard, or hardly working?
-=At the sound of the gunshot, he started to head towards the main room, but stopped himself. He was in no condition to deal with them, and he was sure that Nyl and Seph could handle a couple of people with guns=-

Nyl practically flew from her spot in the doorway, diving at Sean in a headlong tackle. She hoped to catch him by surprise, to knock him to the ground and pin him there.

Nyl Phairen Nyl practically flew from her spot in the doorway, diving at Sean in a headlong tackle. She hoped to catch him by surprise, to knock him to the ground and pin him there. "Aagh! Whit hae, lass, I'll killye!" The soldiers had scattered when they heard the shot, assuming it had come from the yard. That left Reeve, bleeding from his eye, Sean tackled and Nyl, the tackler. He tries to twist his wrist, pointing the gun at Nyl. "We're talkin' kings and succession, 'ere, lass!"

Seph held his position, eye's narrowed behind the shadows. He was well aware of Nyl's physical prowess, and wasn't about to butt in. At the moment.

"And I caught you unaware." She grabbed the wrist that held the gun, applying enough pressure to it to get him to drop it, almost enough to snap it entirely.
She caught his eyes and held them. "Shall I tell them the truth about why you're here now...or wait until after you're dead?"

Hearing the gunshot only heightened her fear. "What was that?! Who are you?" She quickly made like she meant to move as far away from the strange figure that she didn't recognize, but knew she couldn't go far before she'd end up soaking in the pond again.

Seph leaned back some, nodding his head to the side. Was there something that was said last night that he didn't hear? He usually had very good ears.

Reeve's eyes widen and moisten as he looks on, still bleeding.
"An' so shall 'e, iffen ye dinnae let me go. One waird, merely one, an guidbye tae your infirm'ry."

Don't worry about what happened to me, it's nothing important. There's just someone going after one of our Senseis, and from the sound of it, he's already been dealt with. It's alright, I promise.
