I used to have Harvest Moon 64. The way the music restarted every time you entered a new area was just intolerable. It wasn't even good music D: Probably woulda played more, otherwise. Listen to the first 30 seconds of this, then start it over and repeat. Again and again.

I thought that music only played at the farm and most of everything else was quiet in Harvest Moon 64?

melikefood I finished up the Bravely Default demo didn't realize there was an auto-battle mechanic (press Y after one turn and the system just repeats itself)until 3 hours of grinding. Ended up maxing out all the levels and classes. I like the fact that you can have up to -4 bravery points. It makes grinding a breeze. Now I just need to 100% complete the village restoration, but it's difficult without any friends nearby. razz Oh my god. Thank you. Also hey what's up, Food?!

Of course, I didn't play it very much since I already had tried AWL, which is a lot better.

Jarogue I thought that music only played at the farm and most of everything else was quiet in Harvest Moon 64? I can't remember much, but watching this, it seems like at least the music is different outside of the farm. It's just really bad on the farm because the song restarts every time you even enter a different room. -_- The other music isn't as annoying as the Spring farm music, though.

XD I don't remember the music being this shitty. Of course, I didn't play it very much since I already had tried AWL, which is a lot better. I can't tell whether or not AWL is the best HM console game. Maybe I'm biased. It definitely has flaws, but it seems like it was more popular with everyone than most HM games. I've even met several non-gamer people in real life (WOAH) who played and liked it a lot. There sure aren't a lot of spouses to pick from in that game, though. The options are even worse in Another Wonderful Life, imo. xd A hippy, an unfriendly-looking guy with a mullet or a little boy with Rayman hair? I'd settle for the cows and chickens. Aside from that and HM64, the only other console HM I've tried is Tree of Tranquility. It seems like it should be superior, but I can't get into it because my character is a weak little s**t who gets tired after like two seconds. D:

When Rock gets old, he just looks like a little boy with grey Rayman hair.

I liked how you got to see everyone age and even kinda that you die at the end, although that created problems for me too.
Also I liked how you had a cute little son. He was cute because he wasn't really my child (or anyone's child, for that matter). It's weird how you couldn't have a daughter in either version, though. I know you can have both in Tree of Tranquility, at least.

Also you can have a daughter in the A Wonderful Life Special Edition, if you talk Harvest Spirit pot 100 times. I doing that now to have a daughter with Lumina. I don't know if you can do it in Another Wonderful Life.

I have two bosses left to deal with and them I'm done with the BD demo. I don't know who decided to add an encounter rate slider to the game, but they deserve a medal. I can go through dungeons normally, go back to town and heal, and then set the encounter rate to 0 and just go straight for the boss. *_* melikefood Now I just need to 100% complete the village restoration, but it's difficult without any friends nearby. razz There's a guy who will give you a villager when you talk to him. However, if you talk to him and then go to the title without saving your village population will go up by one and he'll add another villager if you talk to him again. Repeat that until you have twenty villagers; that's all you can carry over to the full game and everything goes pretty quickly at the point. Otherwise construction still works in sleep mode. That's how I dealt with the boulder.
