Sad, but I was too young to really know what 'dead' meant. I'd never even gotten attached to the cat.

Yeah being oblivious is a blessing sometimes.
Like when you break your pinky, so that it looks and points out like your thumb, and you go looking for brother/parent with the line of "I think I broke my finger" when you do find them. surprised

AHAHAHA, or that.
I did something like that once. I stepped on a roofing nail, almost went right through my foot. I didn't even cry. I pulled it out, hopped into the kitchen, "mom, I stepped on a nail." She freaked out, then went all "wait wait...you've already pulled it out?"
I just said 'yeah.' and that was all there was to it. ^^

I ended up finding my brother, he proceeded to be frantic. True story.
Yup, tripped over my friend, looked at my finger and went about finding someone older. Didn't hurt, or anything...maybe it was shock in both our cases.
Point is, it's funny in retrospect...though a nail in the foot...that makes me shudder.

I don't handle nails through feet so well for some reason.
Sure rip off an arm I look intently, nail in foot...no.
I don't do broken the totally wrong way things either...like your elbow pointing toward your nose or something.
Other than that bring on the blood.

It also stains and gets into the hardest places to get out, like the little engravings in your jewelry and what not.
