I wonder why they opted for Majora's Mask soundtrack as opposed to a Wind Waker one for the Platinum reward this year.

Yeah, there's that. It was definitely the first thing I thought when I saw it, but it is by no means a promise. Also it's be pretty weird not to announce it, but maybe they just want to focus on one zelda per-show.
Speaking of Zelda, I recently read that Aonuma said in an interview that he's experimenting with completely re-inventing the Zelda series and that it's quite early in development, but I've also heard tell that they almost showed a trailer at E3 and that it was well into development.
MIXED MESSAGES.

I turned my dad's busted old computer into a working one running Ubuntu, which is a linux distro.
Now the kids hopefully won't fight over the laptop as much.

this is true
But I was more talking about how aonuma said they're very early in development, where earlier someone said that they'd considered bringing a trailer to E3, but I guess that person straight up lied.

Yeah, that hunk-a-junk is running with pretty decent speed now. Too bad the fans still sound ready for lift-off.
The whole point of installing ubuntu was to recover some files for my dad. He thinks I'm some kind of wizard, probably, but tonight I sorta feel like an ignoramus.
At first I thought that the partition on the hard drive where all the files related to Windows etc (Everything on the hard disc before I used a thumb drive booter to create an ubuntu partition) was corrupt or something. I couldn't find any of the files. Then I realized maybe it wasn't properly "mounted," because the way you access s**t in these OSes is kinda complicated.
So, I spend hours trying to mount this stupid ******** partition to a directory I couldn't even make appear (All of these guides seem to be written involving some feature which must have been very recently overhauled. And probably several times.) and then I realized that it had been mounted all along to the main directory, but it was still empty.
And then I looked at the partition in some graphical partition manager program and I saw how small the thing was... and now I'm pretty sure that it must have been wiped somehow. (Which must have been the problem all along. There was next to nothing left on the hard drive!)
So... so much for recovering my dad's files. Hope it was nothing important! :U

Xilo The Odd lol what even happened? malware attack? or a pebcak? Not really certain. The computer had 8 years of accumulated problems. It wasn't getting much use at all for the last few years. Obviously there was a problem with irresponsible use, but also it was ancient in computer terms. It could have been a combination of either. As far as old computers go, it's not bad. it's dated, definitely, only compatible with relatively slow DDR2 ram, but 2 gigs of that and an old 3ghz dual core processor is more than sufficient to run ubuntu and I don't think it'll ever be used to do anything but browse the internet. Loading speeds are pretty decent too, since it's wired right into the router. It should keep the kids satisfied, and it's nice to be able to do something around here.

yeah it should still be capable as a computer, hell my old server board one i used to use two 3.02GHz dual core CPU and 4GB of ram. that thing could run just about any game even some of the new stuff, Skyrim even! as long as it wasn't openGL based xP. whats sad is blizzard figured that part out for me.
sounds like ya did well though all things considered. old computers thats about all ya can do.
to me, fixing a computer for someone is pretty rewarding, if not a pain in the a** in most cases.

a lot of indie games have the IP address system. its not too hard. people can see their own external IP at places like IPchicken.com or other similar places.
