Shinji held Lena tightly, sighing against her. He felt aweful for putting her through this yet again, but couldn't find anything in his mind or heart to try to fix it. It was as though fate decided that's how it would be, and he clung to her tightly. He just wanted to be with her. Her. Nobody else. But no matter how many times he told himself that, it was as if someone else was pulling him away.

Madison smiled,although it looked more maniac then she would have hoped. And upong seeing her reflection in his axes metalic surface she was reminded of the joker from batman. Needless to say she lessened the amount of teeth showing.
If that's what you would prefer
She finished,smiling and motioned towards the door.
Would you rather go elsewhere? Say....the gardens?
The thought of fresh scented roses seemed to have drifted in her mind and she could barely keep it out.

Lena let out a whimper as she stood there, she really didn't know what to do. She felt like pushing Shinji away, but at the same time she wanted to stay there in his arms.

Shinji shook his head and moved his eyes to meet Lena's. He looked distant, cold. He sighed and looked away as he released her some, taking a deep breath before he spoke. I don't want to do this to you anymore...he started, voice a whisper. I love you...I really do...but I can't do this...His body trembled as he refused to let himself look to her. He felt horrible, but all he could think of was how all of her pain was his fault. He regretted coming to the underground. He regretted letting her get so close. He loved her, he really did. But he knew that he'd still look at others. And it wasn't right.

Lena looked up at Shinji for a moment as she tried to speak, but looked back down when unable to make any words come out.

Shinji shut his eyes tightly and swallowed the lump that'd built in his throat. He didn't want to let go of Lena, but something told him it was only fair. He couldn't drag her around anymore, he knew that much...but what would he do without her? He let his hands brush down her arms and take her hands, squeezing them as he swallowed againb efore looking to her, not speaking a word.

Lena let out a sigh before looking up to Shinji with sad eyes, she stayed silent, unsure of what to say. She was pretty sure of what he was going to say and it really wasn't what she wanted. She loved him with all her heart and was very unsure of what she'd do without him.

His eyes still closed, Shinji shifted his head as though he was going to look to her. I love you...he said softly, his voice a sort of gruff, alluring tone. He held her hands still, his eyes fluttering open and shyly looking to her, still unsure of what he should do.

I wanted to inform her he had no idea what to do, but he felt small enough without adding that. He looked to Lena, still in silence, and took a long, deep breath. Hoping it would clear his mind and help him remember that she's all he needed, he pulled her close and kissed her softly, holding her to him as his heartbeat stopped, waiting for her to either return it or push him away.

A part of Lena really felt like pushing Shinji away, but she couldn't do it. She held her lips against his, letting her eyes fall shut.

Shinji could feel that Lena wanted to push him away, so he eased back, heart pounding painfully in his chest. He looked to her with sincerely sorry eyes and shook his head some. Maybe...I shouldn't stay...

Shinji looked to Lena a moment, silently, wanting to stay but wanting to be far from there at the same time. He let his eyes fall shut and pulled her close again, hugging her tightly. It's just not fair for you...he whispered, trying his best not to let his human emotions show.
