Tac moved as if to take her hand, but paused, he wasn't one for public displays of affection, however small, especially with someone that didn't exactly understand what it would mean. He instead scratched the back of his head for a moment, as if thinking, almost whispering when he spoke, "Not bad, though all the while I felt a void. I..missed you Cora."

*Tavin puts the book down on the table, and a pen appears in his hand as he jots something in the margins. At first glance it seems that he's working intently at it- but the smile on his face would betray the truth. He's paying much more attention to the conversations going on than he would let on*

Hanley glanced to Tavin, not reguarding him with much more then a smirk, sighing softly. It seems as if that man is something of importance... I've seen him somewhere before." His thoughts remained to himself, though, nothing more.

(( "couples" chose each other according to good genes and stable mental history, then they are given a permit to have offspring, then go to a big clinic where their reproductive cells are joined. The baby is raised in a tube, and when its ready it goes home with its mother and father))

*Sighing softly, Clare gave up her spot behind Hanley as she stood, thinking she could find something pleasant to say after acting the fool at her commanding officer's arrival. Truthfully looking to be a ghost, having started to fade as she rose from the floor, nothing resembling a greeting ever came out.*

((Getting so distracted >.<))
Tac didn't even have to think about about it, quickly responding, "Hasn't been more than two weeks by the flow of time as I've seen it, but it feels like two months." He took half a step closer, leaning in to whisper in her ear, his lips almost close enough to brush across her skin, "You have no idea how much I missed you. I almost fear that you could literally not understand it." He notices the flowers as he opens his eyes, hesitantly taking Cora by the hand and leading her closer to the bar, and when he definately spots his name as the sender and Cora the recipient, he almost squeaks as he speaks, "C...Cora, these, are for you." He glances to Tavin, giving him a slight nod in thanks.

Tacitus...roses. They're beautiful. :::She looked at Tavin from the corner of her eye, and minded the thorns:::
:::She put her nose down to them and took a breath, then she smiled back up at him::: They make me happy. :::She lifted up her heals and kissed him on the forehead. This was perhaps the only time she'd ever used that gesture appropriately, but of course, no one would tell her that:::

Tac quickly and quietly cleared his throat, with Tavin (and possibly Hanley) still around he wasn't exactly secure in expressing himself. Though he wasn't going to ask him (them) to leave. Tac smiled as Cora extressed her thanks for the flowers, "I'm glad. I only wish I was certain my time was a safe place, for either of us, at the moment. Theres so much more of my world I want to show you." Heseemed almost to forget about Tav (and Hanley) for a moment, brushing a stray piece of hair from her face, before pulling away, as if what he had done were completely inappropriate.

Tac silently cursed himself, this was not exactly the path he had intended. He let out a brief sigh as he tried to muster a way to explain it, "I was...chased by some robots, but I easily evaded them and made proper assurances that they were shut down and decommissioned. The person behind it is not mentally stable, by my estimates. I've been planning to find him and take him into custody so he can get the proper help he deserves." He let out another sigh, this one was rather long, with an equally long inhale afterwards, looking into her eyes as he spoke, "Cora, I'd rather not talk about it any further. All that matters is that we're both ok right now. For now, we're safe, here, in the Brink."

:::Cora looks down from his face as he finishes explaining. If one thing made sense to her it was the mentally unstable. It was the only ailment that still ran rampant among her people, and the suddenly mentally unstable where now one of the only threats left for the police to deal with:::

Tac seemed not to notice Tavin anymore, only noticing him on the outter edges of his consciousness. He just seemed to study Cora's features as if he feared he could blink out at any moment and not see her again for days, weeks, or possibly even months. His mind latched onto the roses and he suddenly remembered the rather special rose he had 'grown' for Cora, likely crushed in the restaurant as it was torn to pieces. He smirked as he remembered some of the less than hectic moments in that rstaurant, "You know, we never got back around to dancing again."
