Guys also don't have to deal with being in so much pain that you want to curl up into a ball and die. Nor do they have to deal with the mood swings where one minute you're so happy and the next you're crying for no damn reason or for the stupidest reason.

Well it's definitely no fun when you have cramps that are so bad it feels like there's an angry porcupine nesting in your stomach and you think you're about to keel over dead from the pain. That happened to me once when I was walking home from school (it's about a mile). I just wanted to lay down in someone's front yard and die quietly. But I had to keep walking, and by the time I got home I thought my stomach was about to catch fire or some other horribly painful thing.

Or when the rest of your family wants to go do something like go on a hike and you don't want to go because you have really bad cramps and then they all get mad at you for not wanting to go because they think you're just being difficult.

Now see, I've never hid my period from my family (only one guy in the house after older brother moved out). So... well, Mom's a woman, she has hers (often around the same time). I just came right out and said, "I have cramps, I'd rather stay home."

Yeah and it's not like you can explain it to him. If there's one way to get almost any of the guys I know to go away, it's to start talking about periods.

I don't have problems with them now (I get very moody though, about 1 week before) but when I was in high school they used to be horrible. That's when I started drinking tea, the warmth seemed to help.
