*Synge seems to become a bit saddened by Aykon's words, she feels as though he isn't very happy, or that something is wrong in general. It seems as though she isn't the only one not having a good day.*

That sounds tough. Why did you want to come here? Doesn't that just create problems for you? Having to to live two lives?

*Synge then hears Fire waking and watches her run up the stairs.*

*He seems to be still and quiet as he listens to your words and pauses for a long time before he speaks.*

Well...I came here on a mission originally, we tracked a criminal here in my Esper squad and captured him but the operations took several months. I found this place way away from the hustle and bustle of the military compound I worked out of, I used to lay my head on the beach down by the old DarkSeas. The place relaxed me so I opened up a small bar there and eventually it grew in to the place you know now. This was my escape. But I find that the more I escape, the less connected to the real world I feel sometimes.



*Aykon absentmindedly watches Fire, he notices she had changed clothes again.*

*She turns to Syngey and nods*

Hi.

*Aykon notices the way you were talking and he seems to have snapped himself out of whatever he might have been thinking of.*

Well...this world is real but so is Earth. However, this place doesn't FEEL like the real world because it is safe, it is a place that I am in control. When I am on Earth, I am a nobody...I live in a tiny apartment with a messed up car, I barely make enough to make ends meet. I speak to people who half the time are only listening because they have to...

*He takes a long puff off his smoke.*

In fact, to be able to do even the simplest things magically there, I have to let my Esper form show. In Gaia, I only draw out my Esper form whenever I am in grave danger and my power is so much bigger. The place here feels safe and people actually want to listen to me...but since Earth was my "First" world, it is the "real" one to me.

*He pauses a minute and then shakes his head.*

But every time I go to Earth, only a few short moments have passed but it could have been weeks or months...even years here. Everyone says I seem so distant but it's almost like a dream. If I told them why I was so distant...I'd be put in the institution for sure.



*He looks to Heather as she says Hi to Synge and waits before he speaks to her.*

Hello again, Heather, I hope you slept well. Did you need something from the bar.

*Synge watches Fire go over to the bar but doesn't say anything for the time being. Instead, she keeps her focus on Aykon and his words about Earth and Gaia.*

Earth doesn't sound that inviting. Why do you go back there? Do you have to go back?

*She pauses for a moment, considering other possible reasons that one might have to return to a place like that. She seems to space out for a moment but snaps out of it without too much time lost.*

Or are there people you care about there?

*At this point she noticed Fire is still looking over the bar, and seems to be in an unpleasant mood as well. Looking concerned she takes her attention off of Aykon for a moment to speak to Fire.*

Do you need anything Fire?

*Aykon seems to note something going on with her but he didn't know what to say.*

Do you...want me to make you a drink?



*Aykon chuckles lightly when he hears you mention earth sounds uninviting.*

Earth can be a difficult place but the people there are at much higher risk for danger than they are here. In fact, the only reason people are really in danger at this tavern is because of me...

*Aykon seems to be struggling with the statement a minute and then takes a drag, finishing his smoke.*

There are people I care about there...friends, students, other Espers. Mostly I am tired of feeling like I don't belong in either place.

*Synge nods slowly as Aykon speaks.*

It must be difficult to feel like a danger to those you care about. Most people would just run away.

*Synge looked away, still speaking but not directly to Aykon now.*

I would run away. Belonging is so difficult, I sometimes wonder if it is even possible anymore. Maybe it is best to just give in, and pick one place to be forever.
