◈ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ◈ "Ah? It's alright. Things happen," Kara replied with a shrug as she listened to Illo talk to himself. As he changed the subject, Kara seemed to jump into it without questioning anything. "Yes! I ended up attending one of the first year classes... something about the abilities of the soul. It is quite interesting," she said. Suddenly she remembered something "Oh right! I completely forgot my whole reason for coming up to you!" she said. She glanced around, looking around for any sign of a clock before realizing there wasn't really one in sight. Kara looked at Illo again "Uh... you wouldn't happen to know the way to actually exit the school grounds would you? My job shift starts soon and I do not want to be late... especially since I just got the job," she asked. ◈ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ◈

"Yes, it's quite interesting," agreed the monk with something of a smile. He would have liked to have shown her first-hand what some of those abilities were, but that wasn't happening anytime soon. Her next question did make him chuckle a little though.
"Of course," said Illo with confidence, "it's my job to know where everything is." He started to gather up his things then and when he was done looked to Kara to show he was ready to leave. "Are you ready?" And off they would go into the sun, Illo lugging a bar with buckets on either side of his strong shoulders with him.

He practically tumbled out of the elliptical gateway--wait a second, he did! Hitting the ground palm first and springing all about the arena line at a time, he tucked and felt the ground respond to his call; for each tap there was a sliding whisper as dust was roused from its dusky sleep, for every bound a resonant syllable in a language which didn't need translation. He slid to a hault, pumping his arms in a couple different patterns, finally settling in a textbook white crane stance.
"This is perfect!" No pain in his face whatsoever. On the other side of the arena a student, seemingly new, fumbled with some weapon or other before shying away into the lockerroom at Illo's display. "I have to hand it to Death, his facilities are always so well kept." After a moment of basking in the glory that was an outdoor gym/sparring area, Illo straightened out of his crouched stance.
"So... Let's get to work, mm? I can tell a lot about a person by how they handle themselves in the ring: what you need, what you don't, how well you're sleeping--all these and more!"

"Not just simple," said the monk shaking his head, "the most simple. Don't use any special powers if you can help it; this means no fire, so you'll have to focus on your own body." Rather upfront, but to say this approach would be ineffective was a bit hasty, and, it should be noted, was textbook prejudice--in a denotative sense.
"Are you ready? Today you get to put yourself to the test!" Illo gave a bow and the training session was on. For what seemed like an hour, the monk came at Amara mercilessly, showing the full extent of his training and what the Iron Phoenix name meant in martial arts (please don't be on his level--I'm doing this for plot purposes).
But it didn't seem like enough. For whatever reason, Illo stopped having fun about half way through the session. Gong Fu was good, but what was it if Illo couldn't do what he knew he should be able to? It all just reminded him of what he was capable of not so long ago.
Silently, suddenly, a girl with blue hair appeared off to the side of the battle. Hers was a face which stole the light from the moon, stolen from the waning sun; lit by curiosity and wonder, it displaced their intensity and pulled at their attention with its hidden gravity.
"Sugoi~!" Chimed the girl clapping. That was the best fight I've seen all week--and I've only been here for a week!"
"I'm sorry, are you a student here? Could you please give us some room?" Illo wanted to get back to it. Perhaps this battle would wake what was dormant in him? "Let's get back to it, huh Amara?"
"Oh, y-yes, I am," continued the stranger. "... But you're so much stronger than me. You must be a teacher!"
"N-Not exactly..."
"EH??" After a quick recovery, the girl was back to her normal(?) self. "Oh, but you're strong enough. I can feel it."
"You have soul perception, then?" Asked Illo dryly.
"Oh! Not exactly, but I can still tell. There's something about you, mister--some kind of power... I think you should just go for it!" At this Illo snapped.
"AGH, I cant' ok! It's not that easy!" Not the world filtered slowly back into Illo's eyes, withdrawing the beast's head. "... I'm... I'm sorry. Please forgive me." Rather than being put off by this, the new girl seemed to gravitate toward the monk.
"Awww~! Poor baby~" She was reaching for him now, Illo naturally pulling away. "Here. ... Let me help you."
"Wait-what??" Illo was breathless, as evidenced by his breathy reply. But eventually she was caressing Illo, mothering him; the fog of tension was lifted like the curtain of a wonderfully produced play and Illo was there alone with his greatest fear yet: intimacy.
"Shh..." Within a few moments the two were encased in a pale-violet glow. This only lasted a moment, and seemed peaceful at the start, but soon enough a terrible tremor roared through the arena floor. Illo's mouth opened, but now there was no sound but a hollow high droning. It sounded like a jet engine powering up. "You've been disappointing lately, Phoenix. I need you to be better than that, and it looks like you've just forgotten what makes a man great. Remember you teachings... Enlightened One."
As soon as those words left her mouth Illo's power erupted, taking on a new light which hadn't been seen before. This new bloom was violent; the way its energy tore through the air was not of something which merely took up space, but something that devoured. It was as if Illo's new power was enough to steal the sun from the skin, and eat the darkness too.
"There... All better." At this point Illo was totally entranced, his aura splitting off into a set of wings made of ethereal, glowing hands. His appearance now, thanks to the careful meddling of the newcomer, was as a god--only without the benevolence.

✹▸ ▹ Who am I with? ❝ No one at the moment. ❞ ✹▸ ▹ What is this place? ❝ DWMA Training Field ❞ ✹▸ ▹ Does this look okay? ❝Training❞
After showering and dropping off the leftover souls from his last mission, Yata Garasu decided that it was time for some much needed training. It had been a while since the last time he properly trained. For the last year he was out in a remote part of the world fighting kishin eggs and trying not to die. Combat is one thing, but being able to freely test ones abilities and hone them outside of combat is something that Yata missed. And, seeing as his primary form of combat is using his own wavelength rather than utilizing a weapon partner, it wouldn't be a good thing to let his wavelength's potency drop even by a small margin. Even if he did have a weapon partner, Yata still would need to keep his wavelength in tip top shape.
With hair still dripping with water, the only clothing on his body being a pair of black and yellow basketball shorts, and a bag full of equipment Yata stepped out onto the training field. His left arm and his chest were littered with a series of what looked like fairly new wounds. Most of them were scabbed over and looked like they were healing, but a couple of them looked almost fresh.
'Nostalgic, Yata thought. The training ground was his old stomping ground. He was having flashbacks of when he and Stein would come out here and Stein would teach him how to use his wavelength properly. Back when Yata was still a student. He set the bag of equipment down on the ground and bent from left to right, stretching the muscles in his sides; he bent front to back to stretch the muscles in his back. Yata concluded his routine stretches by sitting down and reaching for the toes on his outstretched legs. He held the position for around ten seconds before rolling backwards and springing forward to land on his feet.
Yata walked over to the small shack where they held the equipment and one-by-one began pulling out training dummies. He had about 10 of them set up before he stopped. "This should be enough," he stated plainly. Yata didn't want to rob the current students of all their training equipment. He stood back and examined each one, occasionally knocking on them to see how sturdy they were. Eventually, a smile crept onto his lips. "Good, I don't have to worry about breaking these."
Yata dragged each of the dummies to a clearer area and set them up in a medium sized circle around him. From there he allowed his wavelength to rise slightly, not all the way, but enough that he could use each of his abilities. Soon after, he charged his entire body with his wavelength, augmenting his speed and strength by double what they normally are. His body was visibly vibrating with energy, the edge of his form appearing blurred from the wavelength coursing through his system. Yata crouched down, his eyes focusing on the dummy directly in front of him before running towards it.
When he got close, he turned to his side and slid in towards the target and thrusting his elbow into where a persons abdomen would be. From there he spun around behind it and flipped up onto its shoulders. He clenched his thighs around the wooden head and spun, leaning slightly when he did. The dummy fell over, and Yata braced the fall with his hands and used them to pivot in a circle, swinging the dummy and releasing it just right so that it flew into another dummy directly to the right of where he was. Yata ran towards the other side of the circle and target two dummies, grabbing their faces with his hands and throwing them outside of the circle. He then spun on his heel and delivered a reverse-roundhouse kick to the chest of the dummy to his left.
Yata paused then, examining the remainder of the circle for a second. 'Five dummies out, five to go,' he thought to himself before taking two steps in the direction of one of the remaining five. There were three on one side and two on the other. He decided to take the two out first. Yata's wavelength spiked for a moment before he moved behind the two dummies with blinding speed, brushing past them in less than a second. He dropped to the ground and used one of his legs to sweep the dummies off of the ground (if they were people, he would be knocking their feet out from under them). Yata stood and stomped on each dummies' head in turn. He was weak in terms of strength at the moment. Yata dumped the entire augmentation of his speed and strength into speed alone, and that left him with less than his normal strength for a little bit.
Regardless, he raced towards the three dummies and targeted the one in the center. Yata jumped into the air at the last second and planted his foot on the face of the middle dummy, springing off of it and causing it to fall backwards. From there he channeled his wavelength into both of his hands and struck the two remaining dummies with his palms, directly in the center of their chest. His wavelength lashed out at the dummies and caused the wooden panels to splinter and break apart. Yata sighed as he stood up straight. "I wasn't supposed to destroy any of these," he complained. "Oh well, I'll just buy them a couple new ones or something."
Yata walked away from the fallen dummies and towards his bag of equipment. The zipper gave way to his hand and revealed a series of baseballs and a single metal bat. Yata dug into the bag and found a water bottle. A small bead of sweat was forming on his face; he wasn't used to that exercise anymore. It was something Stein had set up for him. Originally he was supposed to strike all of them with his wavelength, but his soul is much stronger than it was back then. When he trained with Stein, Yata didn't possess enough power in his wavelength to break a single dummy, now he could break them with ease. He took a swig out of the water bottle before picking the bat out of the bag and twirling it with his hand, testing the weight of it. It wasn't too heavy, showing that his normal strength had returned to him. Yata allowed the wavelength charging his body to dissipate. He wouldn't be able to keep it flowing through him for the next part of his training session; it would interfere with what he was going to do.

Xeno Zavier Mesiter 3rd Year DWMADWMADWMADWMADWMA Xeno yawned as he walked onto the training field. The class he had attended too a bit longer then usually and was as boring as ever. He looked around to see a few new faces. He smiled as we walked over to the nearest tree and sat down watching everyone there training themselves.

 ✹▸ ▹ Who am I with? ❝ A couple of strangers. ❞ ✹▸ ▹ What is this place? ❝ DWMA Training Field ❞ ✹▸ ▹ Does this look okay? ❝Training❞
Yata paused in his training when he felt a sudden surge of power come from across the training field. He didn't see what exactly had happened, but he did see the source. There was a male figure who was overflowing with tremendous energy. It was a very dangerous sight to behold indeed. Yata didn't want to get swept up in the cataclysm that seemed inevitable to follow, so he left the bag where it was and walked over to where a boy was sitting under a tree. He never took his eyes off of the event unfolding not-so-far away. "Yo," Yata began attempting to get the boys attention. "You're in a dangerous spot, you might want to move."
Yata gestured for the boy to follow him away from the current area. Judging by the energy pouring out of the man across the field, even being right at the entrance to the training area didn't seem too safe. Yata wasn't a teacher, so he had no authority to command the man to stand down and disable whatever ability was producing the ability, but he didn't want to risk anyone getting swept up in it either. Yata was judging purely on the feel of the energy that confronting the man wasn't the brightest idea, so he chose to stay away. In his mind, he felt that he could hold his own against the powerful stranger, but he knew better than to test that out.
Yata walked towards the door, letting his wavelength rise to about half of its maximum level, just in case he needed to use any of his abilities. He stopped when he noticed a new man stepping barely through the doorway. This new man didn't seem like he meant any harm, but he did set something down on the ground. This piqued Yata's curiosity. Maybe this guy would know something about what was happening across the field. He took a chance and walked over to him. "Hey, do you have any idea what the hell happened over there?"
From the tone in his voice, Yata didn't seem all that concerned, more annoyed that he was interrupted than anything. He took the metal bat he had been carrying and lifted it to rest on his shoulder. "Is that girl going to be alright? She doesn't look like the type that could take a hit form that monster," Yata remarked, being completely open about his opinion to the stranger.

This continued for sometime, Illo's aura painting a very bleak picture for Shibusen. For a moment it seemed as though there was truly no end to what Illo was capable of producing as far as power went, expanding and forming gyres of energy which curled off the apparent wings he'd sprouted in his latest transformation.
Soon the voices of others would be heard clawing through the high droning of Illo's soul. These voices came from the Maras, the deities who tormented Illo at every turn, and appeared in most cases to have a claim on his soul. The girl in the middle, totally dropping her act, was delighted at what she saw. The monk's power had increased, and she was able to control him fully now that he'd given himself over to his own ego so freely.
"Ah~ Don't you just love that?" She said with her hands clasped together. "It's just so nice to see your seeds grow and bear fruit, ya know? Although, I must admit it seemed like there wasn't going to be much of a harvest from this little guy. ... But now I think that's been put to rest, don't you?" Waving her arms over Illo's soul, as if unaffected by his tremendous energy at all, she continued.
"This is what I've been working so hard at! Dear Illo's potential really is limitless, in every sense of the word." At this point she was pacing across the monk's glowing form. "I don't know if you can comprehend it, but within this poor sap's body and mind is the correct combination which should have allowed for him to use infinity as his power source! ... But that didn't seem to work out. The boy was simply too inert to reach for the heavens..."
"But!" Said the ringmaster double-correcting herself. "It wasn't like I was just gonna give up like that. After a little--ok, a lot--of coaxing, I was finally able to get the poor idiot to open his mind fully... Unconditionally to me."
It was about this point when Xuza showed up. A couple guesses finally led her to right training field, and out from thin air she shot, straight into the thick of it.
"Hey... What's going on? This power is just absurd..." Xuza was near Han and the others, looking on at the spectacle before them. "...Do you know anything--Wait! Isn't that...!"

Xeno Zavier Mesiter 3rd Year Gloves- On/ OffDWMADWMADWMADWMADWMA Xeno listened to the guy and nodded. He didn't really understand what was happening, he just thought of it as a training seesion gone to far and it needed to be stopped. Xeno then put his hands in his jacket and pulled out 2 gloves. He then slipped them both on and looked towards the two making the commotion. "Well ill see if I can at least slow their movements." Xeno would say before running towards the two. After getting about 15 feet away Xeno would jump over them while throwing 10 needles around the two of them. When he landed he made both his hands into fist and pulled back, revealing the needles to be connected to wires ,that were connected to his gloves, surrounding the two of them. Xeno then sent small amounts of electricity through the wires to make them think twice before trying to touch the wires. Xeno then waited for someone else to make a move. OOC=well lets see how this goes
