 Mizuro was laying stomach down, on the ground from being tied up by ropes all over. He decided to just use chakra to wear away the ropes, one by one. He did it slowly, making sure he had it right each time. The ropes didn't stand a chance, because he had done it before, and knew what he was doing. They broke away, and he stood up pleased. Tokuori nodded in approval.
"YOU ARE FINISHED WITH THIS TRAINING. TIME FOR ME TO GO NOW." He patted the kid on the head really hard, probably leaving a good bruise to remember him by. He then walked back to Mokujin."Bye Fatwood Sensei." Mizuiro was happy he was finished with this training, but also sad to see such a torturer leave him. Swift turned the page as he skimmed over the information on the page before attempting the next seal
Page Three: The Dog
The Dog seal is a commonly used seal among most shinobi to perform even the most basic of jutsu. The Dog seal is formed by simply forming a fist with one hand while covering it with a downward facing open palm.
Swift couldnt read the print of the page as clearly as the others,in fact, the ink seemed faded. Swift could sense the tears of failure throughout the pages smooth surface. Swift couldnt even discern the images in the diagrams the book provided. "well.." Swift thought as he tried to read the faded ink "Might aswell just not attempt this one til i can read this" Swift thought as he stared harder at the page and its almost unreadable script.

Swift stared at the faded ink and read it closely unlike before when he merely skimmed the page to get to the diagrams like he did before. Swift began to understand more of what the text was and after connecting words and phrases he could then read out what the sentences where saying. However, Swift completely ignored the diagrams for this seal. They where completely useless to him simply because they where faded beyond recognition and he wouldnt waste time trying to decipher what they where.
"So, form this....and cover with that" Swift said anti-climacticly as he formed the dog seal effortlessly and relaxed his hands to turn to the next page

Swift turned the page as he skimmed over the information on the page before attempting the next seal. he was sure to carefully interpret the information on this one.
Page Four: The Dragon
The Dragon seal is used commonly amongst shinobi with fire affinity chakra.The Dragon seal molds and forms fire chakra to manifest fire elemental ninjutsu.The Dragon seal is formed by simply forming the fingers together with the thumbs interlocking over your three fingers and the remaining pinkies facing downward and touching the fingertips together.
Swift sighed at the paragraph for this seal as he read it and looked over the diagrams. "Fire affinity chakra eh...might wanna be careful with this one." Swift said as he formed his fingers as the diagram described."This...there...that doesnt look qui-...there we go" Swift stated as he formed the dragon seal and quickly relaxed his fingers before any mishaps could manifest. After relaxing for a moment he turned to the next page of the old book.

He separated hit thoughts from his mind, concentrating on what he needed to be doing. The Chakra was flowing through him, like always, but he decided to toy around with it. Perhaps getting a feel for it would help him better understand it. It was cold to the touch, but moved like a calm wind between his fingers. He understood why because those were his elements. Being in the Fubuki clan gave him the elements of ice and wind. He played around with it a bit and got an idea. Maybe if he expelled it the way he did with his Gamibuyou... it had to be similar in a way. Not completely the same way, but a small fraction of it. He was getting excited to drawing closer to the solution.
Finding out about the bunshin technique
Research, meditate, or simply try to figure out how the technique works so you can try to train it.

Figuring out Bunshin no jutsu.

"Now then, to combine the jutsu with my chakra control.. In my mind.. What I need to do first is to get a real good look at myself, to try and memorize how I look. Here I go!" he wondered off into the hallway to wind a mirror, he searched and searched and eventually found one in the boys bathroom. He starred for minutes, trying to get every little detail of himself - printed into his longterm memory.

What better place to learn of new and interesting jutsus at than the academy, he was a genin but he still had to learn more obviously. Also at this point he didn't even have a squad or a sensei, but he still had plenty of time to train. Of course he was allowed to do this being as he wasn't just a complete stranger and used to go to the academy and was fresh off it. He was looking through the scrolls when he finally found a jutsu/technique that he was interested in. It was the Genjutsu Release technique, he had tons of knowledge when it came to Genjutsu so it would be a pervert technique to learn so he could counter it too. He thought about what a genjutsu was essentially, he would have to understand it to know how to beat it.

He obviously knew that genjutsu attacked the mind to be able to make you see things. It hurt you mentally along with left you completely unaware of what's real and not real if you were caught in one. He had read in a book once while studying that inflicting pain on yourself or the genjutsu release were the smart possibilities to take while under a genjutsu. He wanted to be able to use genjutsu release on a whim; getting caught in a genjutsu wasn't his idea of fun.

He read that a genjutsu release breaks stops the circulation of chakra in your body to be able to better get out of a genjutsu beyond regular willpower. He also read that it could potentially be used on another person to get them out of a genjutsu, well this would prove more useful than he initially thought it would be although you wouldn't catch him complaining about it
Genjutsu was a powerful tool to a ninja, he knew that most if not all genin would be focusing on doing massive fire jutsus so they would be trying to get higher chakra and strength for taijutsu. This would leave those kinda people open, they wouldn't have nearly the mental strength that would challange a genjutsu user. But of course he wouldn't leave himself open when the opportunity asked for a physical game. He was profecient for his experience with shuriken aswell.
This was his first genjutsu related skill however, this was to counter it and not an offensive move. He examined the book and read about some skilled genjutsu users from the past and even a few from the present, mainly jounin and stuff. He knew however that it wasn't as commonly practiced as ninjutsu and taijutsu even though more practiced than other potential jutsu forms. He couldn't even hope to imagine how a genjutsu felt when casted upon himself, but he understanded it at a book level.
He read that although genjutsu is different than ninjutsu, it still required a handsign to be able to use. Also that genjutsu meant illusionary techniques. Like how he said earlier about how to stop a genjutsu with this move, he read that genjutsu disrupted the flow of chakra in the head, which would explain why the technique did what it did. Genjutsu also fits under the category of Yin release, there was tons of useful information that he was only scratching the surface of. He read in a book that there were tons of techniques in genjutsu and so it listed some off.
It is an effective set of techniques because it can be used to make the opponent think that they are actually hurt when in reality they aren't. This essentially hurts them mentally because if they believe the pain than they can feel the pain. A genjutsu's weakness is that while you are using a genjutsu on one person, another person could just as easily come around and attack you while you're distracted. Not much of a weakness though as that's how all things work; it's hard to fight multiple people alone in any situation.
While ninjutsu is more about physical pain, genjutsu controls the 5 senses by attacking the cerebral nervous system. The book said it should be noted that those with high intelligence have better abilities with genjutsu than those who are brain dead idiots. Genjutsu are very difficult because it has to be specifically used correctly or else it won't work at all. Even high leveled shinobi who don't specialize in genjutsu still have high difficulty with it.
Genjutsu is effective against all life except of course those that work on instincts like insects and single celled organisims. Things like dogs and cats however are open to be mind raped by a genjutsu as a human is. He wasn't planning on using genjutsu on insects or bacteria anyway, so it didn't really effect him he didn't think. Although it was useful information if he ever ran into a situation vs a giant insect and it also gave him some insight into what genjutsu really did.
The book said also that it should be noted that it is possible through unknown means to break through a genjutsu by training your eyes to have resistance to genjutsu even without the fabled sharingan. This was interesting to know as he wasn't an Uchiha obviously, but since it was unknown he wouldn't possibly be able to do that. Genjutsu seemed really effective and he knew that he would be able to do it given hard work, it would definately be a new thing he could throw into his game.
(( So I already have 2 successes due to my 11 genjutsu, 8 posts here, if I'm lucky I'm done with part 1. ))

He felt that he almost had a hold on what genjutsu truely was but he wanted to learn a little bit more before he started the next step to learn the jutsu, one could never learn to much even in old age. This was even more true to a 9 year old who was just starting off as a shinobi. He read that some techniques are effective for visual genjutsu like the Hidden Mist Jutsu of Kirigakure, which was obviously where was. Though it wouldn't be effective against hearing based genjutsu such as with bells.

Gin looked down at his palms as he opened his hands. He had to be able to control the chakra in his body to be able to cut the power when he was under a genjutsu pretty much. He had to have full control of the chakra in his body, he had to be able to use it on a whim even under pressure. He thought that he should start by being able to control his chakra at all before working on circulation, sure it wouldn't translate to walking up trees or anything but still.
He tried to shift his chakra to different body parts so that he could have control of it so he could effectively turn his chakra off. First he wanted to test the waters so he attempted to do genjutsu release without any practice, of course it didn't work but he was atleast able to see how it was which was experience well fought. He decided to see if he could shift the chakra into his hand hopefully, that way he would be able to understand how chakra worked in his body.
Of course this wasn't easy or he wouldn't have any trouble at all with being a ninja at all. This would take considerable amounts of time and effort before he got it right, the good thing is that he had a good amount of free time on his hand. He kinda winced in annoyance when he wasn't able to do it still after much effort, why the hell was this so flippen difficult anyway? He looked through the scroll but it gave him no clues at all about how to control his chakra, looks like trial and error was all he had now.
He looked down at his hand, concentrated as hard as he could at it, trying to force all his power into his hand. This involved tensing up and forcing all the strength into his hand, this atleast gave him a understanding on how energy was channeled, though it wasn't exactly what he needed for the jutsu to be a success at all. He quickly skimmed through the book on tips to help him with this endeavor.
He was almost as good at chakra control as he was at genjutsu, but this took a considerable more amount of chakra control than it took knowledge in genjutsu. He imagined about how a genjutsu might feel like so he could maybe feel what felt right, but of course this wasn't the solution he was looking for either. He thought about what he had studied previously, you have to cut off the chakra from the brain to be able to effectively get out of a genjutsu.
There were a few problems with this way of thinking, he never did something in this way before so it was only going to work through trial and errors. Most normal people don't understand how this kinda thing works, people walking around not even thinking about how energy works and how to cut off energy to the brain. Even a genin who had not long ago got out of the academy didn't have much to go on, evenj after all the studying he had done in the past.
He of course after all this tried to get back to the root of the problem again, cut off the chakra to the brain, stop the circulation. But before he was able to do this, he would have to basicly understand how the chakra circulates throughout his body. Of course this was documented, there were Hyuuga in the world so people had an understanding about how it worked. Gin looked at a page in a book that he had to look for to see how the body's chakra circulated, with this he was able to understand at which point he would have to break off the circulation in his body.
He had new information that would prove effective at the task at hand, he knew how to channel chakra to certain parts of the body and he knew how the circulation occured in his body. He attempted to do something a little easier before heading into the move, he tried to break the circulation his his arm, that way he would be able to effectively know how it worked before he moved onto breaking it from the brain. Of course this was considerably easier than what he needed and was able to do it but it helped him understand it more.

He slammed his fist into the table, of course not breaking it since he wasn't that profecient in taijutsu and that wasn't his goal. It hurt his own fist but he ignored it since he was pumped with adreneline, he did all that and still didn't have much to go on. He was no where near mastering the technique at all. He once again tried to cut the circulation from his brain to see how it worked, but he wasn't successful.
This was a longer process to gain something than anything he had learned in the past. He quickly thought about the goal, he had to cut the circulation to the brain, sounded easy enough but it was easier on paper than in practice. He imagined the chakra circulation picture that he had previously looked at so he could pinpoint exactly where he had to stop the circulation.
He was getting better at it but he was just making scratchs at his chakra circulation that didn't do anything. He had to cut it clean and fully with one strong thrust of his chakra control. He had to stop it completely to be able to even dream about stopping a genjutsu. He thought that the things he had done before were hard, this didn't even seem like it was possible to a human being. How could one have such chakra control to be able to stop the circulation the the brain.
He was with each attempt doing a little better of course, he was starting to understand what he had to do with trial and error but it wasn't a quick process. He wasn't as successful as could be, he was taking a little longer than most would take tio learn such a basic technique. He thought back to the books that he had read and none of them helped him at all at this point, he had to keep trying till it worked.
He rubbed the side of his head, he was sweating actually from such an intellectual process. He was smart but he was by far better on his feet than he was in his brain, which is why he had to train that much harder. He thought how cool it would be to be such a well rounded fighter, to be able to effectively fight with dexterity, intellect, and to be charismatic for missions that needed it. He needed to be very well rounded because strength wasn't always able to solve the situation, and it always wasn't the easiest tactic. He attempted to cut the chakra off so he could essentially stop genjutsu again.
He knew he had make progress, but still, he had a long way go. He looked down at his hand and gritted his teeth and made two fists as he thought about the specific spot he had to cut the chakra. This was so he wouldn't completely shut his body down but it would allow him to stop the chakra in his brain just enough that it would essentially be an off switch to genjutsu, or atleast help turn them off. He meditated to the flow of chakra and all that good stuff, he had to learn this, he wouldn't feel comfortable fighting a genjutsu fighter without this on hand or even using genjutsu till he did.
Summoning up all his focus on the subject at hand, he thought this would be enough, it was a step in the right direction but still. He had to have full attention, it had to be perfect to be able to cut the chakra off. He thought of it as putting a wall up in the flow of chakra, to stop it just long enough to stop the genjutsu and not to long to kill him. Of course he wouldn't want to test those waters, he would want to give himself plenty of wiggle room before death. He had to put up a wall, that sounded reasonable.
He imagined a barrier inside him, shifting into the chakra to block it off. A sturdy enough wall that it would be able to cut off the chakra long enough to stop a genjutsu. He had no idea how hard a genjutsu would be to cut off so he decided to exagerate it of course. He closed his eyes and meditiated to it, trying to put up the wall that could essentially mean the difference between life and death. A wall that would keep his brain on a stable level so he wouldn't go insane.

He felt that he was getting closer, he knew he was within a hair of it. Of course this was a very exciting thing to the young genin, stuff that he thought was impossible was now within his grasp, not quite his yet but he knew it was only a matter of time. He was able to form the wall to block off the chakra but the chakra was to hard, he had to hold it back, but it instantly broke thorugh the wall. He had to cut it off, like a dam, a dam that was instantly destroyed by a current wouldn't be useful.
He knew what he had to do. He would have to go to the max of his chakra control to be able to concentrate a small wall to be able to hold and control the chakra as to push it back just long enough for a genjutsu to wear off. He has never been hit by a genjutsu before but he imagined how long it would take for it to work, better than what he had right now. He attempted his best to make a very concentrated wall to cut and hold back the chakra circulation for the small time in which he would be able to get out of a genjutsu.

Gin looked down, was he just successful, he felt different now. It was as if he had learned a new technique. He wanted to be more comfortable with it so maybe a few more times till he got used to it but he had definately been successful, he knew it because it just felt you know... right. He attempted to do it over and o ver again, all succesful but he wanted to his a nirvana spot in which he could do it perfectly over and over again. That was what he wanted with it, he would not be happy with anything under that.
