Harvey_Kinkle What you did, buying from a known store through the internet, seems totally safe. lol that your parents bought something from the tv. I've never seen the Soda Can Crusher ad. But we had a crusher where I worked. It came in handy when dragging the crushed cans to the recycling center. You can imagine how much space was saved by crushing the cans. It was fun too. Except when people didn't empty the can enough and it spurted all over. lol Um I don't want to ask. But I have to. You understand. How long ago did your parents get the can crusher? And (sorry) why is it still in the box? lol I understand, ^8^ The Can Crusher was bought for just such the use you mentioned, to make more room by crushing old soda cans which were taking up room on our back pourch. Its been like prob 4 or 5 years ago, and in the end it was ready to be srewed into a wall on our wood pourch outside of our house over top of a couple of plastic drums we put the cans in back before we had the crusher. But we ened up having work donw on the pourch and then as time went on my parents forgot and while I know we still have it in its box somewhere me and my parents dont know where the location of the box is now. lol sweatdrop

I have a few cooking specialty items barely out of their boxes. Like an empanada and ravioli maker. And a cannoli maker. Some day.... lol Sounds like you need to do a treasure hunt in your home and I need to get into the kitchen and make some ravioli.

Every time I move (especially in a hurry) I throw things in boxes. So yes, I'm sure I'll find lots of treasures when I finally unpack all of them. I plan to stay where I am for many MANY years to come. Long enough to unpack everything. And probably take a few trips to donate to the Rescue Mission. And maybe a few to the dumpster.
My former landlord had this interesting advice: once a year, move everything in the garage from one side to the other. I'm sure he means look at stuff while you're handling it and get rid of what no longer serves.

Yes, I imagine that is what he meant to do, what you want keep and the rest get rid of though I admit I am partial to giving any unwwanted clothes to a Good-Will store or a charity for less-fortunate people.

Your donations are probably well appreciated, especially in these economic times. I've been known to shop in charity thrift stores in my starving student days.

I've noticed the same thing, awesome stuff at Good Will stores. The big retail stores clear their inventory every so often by donating. I've gotten brand new shirts at Good Will. They're a really cool charity -- give training and work to people with disabilities.
Have you ever done a yard sale? It makes a little cash (VERY little) but it's a good way to meet interesting people and find homes for stuff that needs to go.

I think the success of both yard sale and lemonade stand depends on a good location. One day my brother and I had a great lemonade stand on Main Street in front of City Hall. The Mayor himself told us it was great we had such initiative but we lacked the permit needed. So basically he made us close down.
Great black and white avi. I like that Escher background. Escher's drawings are awesome. I should see if photobucket has some and post them.
