Pokemon Limits for Classes. Good enough or should the number be higher?
It's good how it is, I don't really use that many Pokemon.
It needs to be a bit higher but you're on the right track.

Maddy frowned and pulled a Pokeball off her belt.
"What kind of work? It'd have to be something big for me to help out. Otherwise, I'd rather just wipe the floor with them." She said, tossing the Pokeball up and down in one hand.
Pokemon battles didn't worry her too much.
"On the other hand, I have no fear of these men. The work is probably beneath us, anyways."

"If they want a fight, that's on them" Rose answered "We'll mop the floor with them before we'll do anything unethical." she wouldn't speak up against breaking the law if it served the greater good somehow, but she didn't want to engage in criminal behavior because a couple bullies wanted to make them do their dirty work. That would not reflect well upon Team Aqua.

Michael looked at the two men and said. "I agree with the Captain. What kind of work?" He then looked at his pokemon who were all eager to battle.

Allen looked around to his teammates, "What would you have us do?" One of the duo scowled at Maddy then back to Allen before his face lightened up and he sighed.
"There's an item of ours, you remember Allen, the necklace." The Aquan visibly flinched and took a moment to respond.
"Where is it now?" He sounded slightly alarmed by the news, but was still mostly composed. As well, he had also lowered his pokeballs, it seemed like they didn't intend to fight.
"Where all other pretty and rich looking artifacts end up." The taller one snapped.
"Parfum Palace." Allen groaned and his shoulders dropped, he turned around, away from the duo, "It's a necklace with a Mega Stone in the center. The leader of our old group was able to Mega Evolve his Mawile with it. Back then I had no idea about Mega Evolution, I thought it was some kind of super powerful attack." He sighed.
"You all would be rewarded, except maybe Allen. Ol' boss still has a thing against you." He chuckled darkly.

[Again, have you character voice whether they would agree to stealing the necklace from Parfum Palace, which would result in PD, on another day. OR. battle the thugs with high level Pokemon today. Majority rules.]

Michael shook his head and replied. "I know at least I speak for myself when I say...No way. Team Aqua changed from the thieves they were, and I for one do not want them to return to that. But I stand by my Captain and if she wants to steal it then I will help her." Michael spoke calmly and clearly and was ready to fight these people or follow his Captain.

Rei shook his head. "If it weren't for the fact that it was a Mega Stone, I would have considered it. But I decline from participating in this robbery."

He sighed. He knew he'd probably lose, but if that meant he could keep a Mega Stone out of the hands of a crime syndicate, he was willing to fight.

Maddy was highly tempted. She had been a well-known thief back in the day and would be lying if she said she missed her old life. She sighed, though, and shook her head.
"Sorry. I can't go back to my old ways."
She pressed the button on her Pokeball and her Haxorus popped out. The Dragon-type growled at the two men, sensing the hostility between them and the group.

"I concur. We are no allies to the people at Parfum Palace, but I can't in good conscience assist criminals in recovering something as major as a Mega Stone." Rose answered "Though, I do not like the idea of Parfum Palace possessing it either."

Allen grinned to his companions, "If you're all sure." His eyebrows went up, and he sighed, turning back around to face them.
"Metagross" the shorter of the two called forth the large Steel type from the ground. A bunch of other thugs came up on the deck following it. "Looks like they aren't going to comply. Get them." Allen whipped up Dolstro's Pokeball, tossing the Greninja out onto the deck. The air shimmered around it revealing it's sleek black skin and red tongue-scarf.

[Reserve your post. Fight one thug each. The thugs are skilled and should be written as such, they have 3-4 Pokemon 1st stage or higher unless it's a Pokemon that doesn't evolve.
Maddy, you'll be fighting the green text man, he has fully evolved Pokemon.]

Michael looked at one of the grunts and thought who to face this guy. When the man threw out a Gyrados. Michael stared in disbelief at the Water/Flying pokemon. "Oh s**t this is bad. Spike due to the types you try." The Electrike jumped in front of his trainer and growled. The Gyrados looked at the little pokemon and laughed, in it's tongue it said to the electric dog. "Little doggie gonna try and fight the dragon?" To which Spike replied, Two things, one you are not a dragon, two We will defeat you." The Gyrados then reared back and launched a Hyper Beam, which Spike dodged and countered with a shock wave attack. The Gyrados tried to move out of the way but was unable to, and due to it's types it took four times the usual damage but was still standing. The Gyrados tried to use another Hyper Beam but could not move due to it having to recharge, which Spike smiled and launched a thundershock at the beast. The attack hit head on and the Gyrados fell back dazed. The grunt shook his head and called back the Atrocious Pokemon before throwing out a Kadabra. Michael analyzed the situation and said, "Changeling want to try your hand against this one?" The little Eevee looked at Michael then the Kadabra and nodded it's head. It then ran at the Kadabra and used it's Shadow Ball move. The Kadabra barely saw it coming and was smacked with a critical hit. The Kadabra launched as a counter attack with a psyshock, which hit Changeling head on for normal damage. Eevee then used dig and was gone. The Kadabra looked around for the little pokemon to no avail. The next thing it heard was the ground cracking beneath it and out popped the little pokemon. This was too much for the Kadabra which fainted with that hit. The grunt was angry now and pulled his last Pokeball from his waist. Out of this one popped a pokemon Michael had seen once or twice before, a Shedinja. It moved in circle around Changeling before launching a shadow ball of its own. The ball hit the Eevee who was barely standing now. It looked at the Pokemon and launched one more shadow ball which hit and the pokemon hit the ground. Changeling smiled before slowly walking back to Michael. Michael smiled and pulled out the great ball he had caught changeling with. "In you go let's take you to the Pokemon center." He did not even look at the grunt and headed out the door. He was about to make an exit when a clerk stopped the gfrunt and said. "I hope you will be paying for the damages you caused?" The grunt looked around for his teammates and saw they were all gone, and with no where to go he was screwed.

Maddy's Haxorus growled with an increasing ferocity as her opponent released a Charizard.
"An equally terrifying Pokemon, but it won't be any match for one of my dragons."
The Charizard let out a roar and flew forward, slashing at Haxorus with it's sharp claws.
"Aqua Tail!"
A swirl of water formed around Haxorus' tail as he struck Charizard with said appendage. Charizard roared once more and took off into the air, preparing a Fly attack.
"Hmph. Dragon Dance!"
Haxorus glowed in a bloody light, his Attack and Speed increasing. The Speed increase allowed Haxorus to move faster than Charizard, allowing a turn before Fly was initiated.
"Protect!"
As Charizard flew down at Haxorus, Maddy's Pokemon put up a barrier, taking no damage from the assault.
"Rock Slide!"
Haxorus picked up a large boulder that was nearby and tossed it at his dragon-like foe, dealing a lot of damage. Charizard roared in pain and retaliated with a Flamethrower attack, dousing Haxorus in white-hot flames. He shook off the blow, though.
"Dragon Claw!"
This move was the finisher, Haxorus' claws glowing with a bloody light as he slashed Charizard and KO'd it.
The next opponent was a Staraptor.
"Rock Slide again!"
Thanks to his previous Dragon Dance, Haxorus was faster than his new opponent and hurled another large boulder. Staraptor was hit hard. It puffed up it's feathers in anger and struck with Brave Bird. The blow was powerful, thanks to it's Reckless Ability, but Staraptor was left with hardly any energy to fight.
"Finish it with Slash!"
Haxorus finished his opponent with one quick swipe of his sharp claws.
The last opponent was an Empoleon.
"Bulldoze!" Maddy cried.
Haxorus rushed forward, hitting Empoleon hard and knocking the penguin off it's feet. The enemy's Speed was reduced, making the already slow Pokemon slower. However, it countered with Ice Beam, dealing a powerful blow and finishing off Haxorus.
Maddy recalled her dragon and sent out her Lucario.
"Close Combat!"
Lucario rushed forward and struck with an all-out attack, dealing massive damage to the penguin Pokemon. The enemy retaliated with Hydro Pump, blasting Maddy's Pokemon away with a powerful torrent of water.
"Sky Uppercut!"
Lucario ball his hand into a fist and uppercut Empoleon, sending it flying high into the air. When the Pokemon crashed into the ground, it didn't get back up.
Her battle won, Maddy recalled her Pokemon and waited for the others.

As the opposing Metagross neared the trainer and his Pokemon, he thrusted a hand forward, "Dolstro, Dark Pulse! Let's try to end this quickly!"
"Bullet Punch!" The gruff voice barked, there was a creek in the metal of the Metagross, and before Allen even realized what happened, the Metagross had zoomed across the deck, landing a massive slug across the Greninja's body. Upon recovering, the ninja frog leapt high into the air, completing a full twist before rapidly gathering the dark type energy from seemingly nowhere. A black aura enveloped the already black Pokemon, changing his type to pure Dark, and he fired the now doubly powerful attack, hitting the Metagross square in the X over it's face.
"Again!" Allen cried, knowing his Pokemon would be faster this time, and again, the Greninja fired a pulse of dark black energy at a different angle. The clunky Pokemon staggered some before fainting with the sound of a whirring computer.

"Ya, got talent Al, I will give you that. But I can't just let you get away!" The man prepared his next Pokemon after returning his Metagross. Allen could only pull his brow together and stare at the floor, he had no response. He had betrayed the closest thing he knew to a family, and for what? A get out of jail early card?
"Can't even respond, eh? Good, it'll make it just that much more satisfying when boss finally catches you. Gallade!"

Allen pointed to the Gallade, "Water Pulse!" Dolstro nodded, since there was no nearby water source to use Surf, he would have to settle for the next best thing. The ninja frog whipped his arms around condensing water from the air to form into a small dense ball. He glowed an aquatic blue aura, turning into a Water type before the ball surged forward, moving across the deck in a wave-like fashion, The Gallade defended himself and began running, even without a command. The Blade Pokemon extended his elbow far out, ready to slash. Allen's eyes widened in panic, how could Dolstro defend himself if he had no idea what attack was coming? This was one of the combinations Allen helped the gang to develop. A last minute call to throw off the opponent, the Pokemon needed to be able to gather a large mount of energy in a short amount of time, it required a smart Pokemon, like most Psychic types.
"Leaf Blade!" The Gallade's elbow flashed a bright forest green light before the Pokemon swung landing a huge hit on Allen's Pokemon.
"Dol!" Allen called out, whipping the Greninja's Pokeball out to return him before any more damage could be done. "Ubella!!" He cried, calling his Volcarona to take too the skies. "Bug Buzz!" The trainer just wanted to end this battle as fast as possible.

Ubella stopped right above the foe Gallade and rubbed her wings together, creating a horribly vulgar sound that visibly shook the air and ground around the Blade Pokemon. "Gallade, Stone Edge!"
"MOVE!!" Allen shouted, The Gallade tossed a handful of stones into the air and in one roundabout slash sent them all flying toward Ubella, luckily she was agile enough to dodge the inaccurate attack.
"Hurricane!" Allen called, Ubella swooped close the the foe and flapped her wings, kicking up a destructive gust that swirled around and around. The air whipped and thrashed around, slamming Gallade across the ground, into larger rocks and eventually into the side of the deck, though Allen was sure the first few moment were all that was needed to knock the Pokemon out. Gallade dropped to it's knees and fell over fainted.

"Never knew you to exert brute force." The man's eyes narrowed as he tossed another ball into the air, revealing a Rhyperior. The deck groaned under the weight of the Pokemon but held together.
"Rock Blast."
"Giga Drain!!" Allen called, a green sliver of energy whipped from Ubella's mouth, but never made it to the foe. An item tied to Rhyperior's forearm glowed and it seemed as through it's movements were only small glimpses. A single rock shot through the air at incredible speed, knocking Ubella from the sky to hit the ground hard. "That is a quick claw..." Allen only stared at his Volcarona for a moment, before running to hop over the side of the deck to see if she was alright. There was a rush of air behind him and he found himself being held by the massive arms of the opponent's Pokemon. "Ubella!" He managed to unfasten his Whimsicott's ball from his belt to drop to the ground, "Neida! Energy Ball!" He cried. In the Rhyperior's distraction, the tiny Whimsicott was able to gather a ball of green energy, She reared back and threw it directly into the foe's belly. Allen was dropped to the ground and ran toward his fainted Pokemon. "Ubella.. Girl you did great." He returned her, she would have to go the Pokemon center asap. He quickly returned to the deck to find his Whimsicott staring down the opponent. Even though she was trying to be intimidating, she looked mostly cute.

It looked like there was to be a battle, then. One of the Thugs seemed to have selected her as a target and sent out a Vaporeon, so Rose went ahead and looked for Meowth, who seemed to have disappeared agin, so instead of sending Meowth like had momentarily intended too, she sent out her Froakie "Grass Knot, Froakie" she ordered.

"Hydro Pump Vaporeon!" her Opponent ordered.

Grass Knot was most effective against larger opponents, so despite Vaporeon's weakness to grass, it endured the hit and struck back with Hydro Pump as Meowth wandered back, dropping an old dusty pokeball near Rose "Froakie, Meowth's back, so return" she returned Froakie to it's Pokeball "Meowth, Thunderbolt"

"Wha...." her opponent was surprised that Meowth knew the electric attack, which made Vaporeon faint.

Her opponent recalled Vaporeon and sent out Flareon

"Dig underground." Rose ordered

"Lava Plume!" her opponent ordered.

That Flareon's speed was incredible, striking with lava plume before Meowth could hide underground, causing Meowth to faint, though not before Meowth stubbornly lashed out with a Pay Day attack. (PD +250)

Remembering her previous battle, which had been against a Team Flair Grunt, Rose quickly sent out her Froakie again before recalling her Meowth "Froakie, use Hydro Pump!" she ordered.

"Lava Plume!" her opponent ordered.

Rose was relieved that she had returned Froakie to it's Pokeball for that short time, because that reset it's typing from grass type to water type. Had Flareon attacked Froakie first while it was grass take, that Lava Plume would have surely made her faint. As things stood, Lava Plume dealt some heavy damage despite type resistance before Froakie was able to attack with a full power hydro pump.

Flareon had speed advantage, but not resiliance, it seemed, nor did it have type advantage, so the Hydro Pump was enough to make it faint. Her opponent recalled Flareon and sent out a Jolteon.

"Dig attack, Froakie" Rose ordered.

"Thunderbolt!" her opponent ordered.

Jolteon attacked, but Froakie had already disappeared underground, so it missed.

"Use thunderbolt down into the hole!" her opponent ordered just before Froakie surfaced, striking Jolteon from underneath. Jolteon counterattacked with Thunderbolt, which had no effect.

"That's not possible!" her opponent answered, outriged "Water types are weak to electric."

"Yes, but my Froakie is a ground type now" Rose answered "Dig again." she ordered.

"Shadow Ball into the hole!" the thug ordered as Froakie disappeared again.

Jolteon attacked, but was too slow, once more Froakie appeared underneath Jolteon and attacked with dig, and this time Jolteon fainted.

"Glaceon, use Icebeam!" her opponent ordered.

Rose had been focused on Jolteon and hadn't seen her opponent send out another Pokemon. Froakie had no time to react either, and was struck and made to faint.

Fletchling, Furfrou and Eevee remained available to her, but only Fletchling seemed appropriate against an Ice Type, so she sent it out Yes, Fletchling had a type disadvantage, but it was fast and knew moves that were super effective to ice-types. "Overheat attack!" Rose ordered.

"Glaceon, use Blizzard!" her opponent ordered, and ice and fire met, and overheat struck Glaceon, who fainted.

"Im...impossible" her opponent recalled Jolteon and Glaceon, then turned tail and fled.

Rose recalled her Fletchling and picked up the Pokeball that Meowth had found somewhere, it was old and dusty, but still usable.

Rei turned to face his opponent, a stout man with scars on his olive-skinned face. The goon said nothing and tossed out a Pokéball containing his Nuzleaf. Rei glanced at his shoulder at his restless Zubat, the Countess, and nodded.

In a flash, she was airborne and attacking the opponent's Pokémon, swooping in low and using Wing Attack while dodging Pound attacks. The Nuzleaf eventually caught on to her tricks, however, and tricked the Countess into believing she had an opening before lashing out. The Zubat was slammed into the floor, and pain coursed through her fragile body.

"Come on, Countess, don't let him hit you again! Poison Fang!" The Countess bared her teeth, and with fangs glowing, rushed forward and chomped down on Nuzleaf's face. The poison worked its way into the Nuzleaf's system, and together with the accumulated damage, collapsed to the floor. The grunt retrieved his Nuzleaf before the hungry Zubat was able to Leech Life it to death.

"Stupid bat," he growled. "Get out of my face. Finish it off, Delibird!" The penguin-like Pokémon jumped out from its Pokéball and sent a blast of cold air at the Countess before she could do anything. She fell to the floor, barely hanging on to consciousness. Rei hurriedly tossed out his Horsea to meet the challenge and scooped up his best friend.

"Sorry, Countess. I'll try to finish this quickly. Hang in there," he muttered to his Zubat. He glared at the thug.

"You'll pay for this. Leviathan, Agility, then Focus Energy." The Horsea relaxed its body and focused its mind, sharpening its reflexes. The Delibird responded with a bomb from its sack, throwing it at the meditating Horsea. The explosion was weak, however, and she was able to take it pretty well. Leviathan built pressure in her snout and zoomed in with her Scope Lens, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. The Delibird, sensing his impending doom, tried once more in vain to attack with a Present, but instead, a healing wave engulfed the Horsea. The goon was furious.

"You idiot! Stop helping the enemy! Bombs, get the bombs!!!" But before the Delibird had the chance to pull out a huge explosive, Leviathan found its mark, right below the beak. In the blink of an eye, she appeared one foot from the Delibird and fired a cannon-blast of water, and it sent the Delibird flying. A critical hit!

The bird's unconscious body hit the ground hard.

Relentlessly, the grunt sent out his Weepinbell. Rei frowned, but remained steadfast in his decision to keep his Pokémon out while she could still fight; he was at a disadvantage, for the most part. His Pokémon weren't evolved, so he had no choice but to fight until they dropped.

"Leviathan, as long as you're standing, use Twister!" The Horsea began rotating quickly, creating a small tornado, and launched the resulting twister at the Weepinbell. Another critical hit, but unfortunately no flinching; the Weepinbell barely kept its ground and launched a Sleep Powder at the vortex, hoping the wind would carry the powder far. The twister died off, and a slumbering Horsea was all that remained. The Weepinbell contented itself with knocking out its drugged opponent. Rei recalled his Horsea.

"Yami, finish it off. Hopefully, you can hold your own against the last Pokémon," he called out, noticing the remaining Pokéball on the enemy's leg. The Scyther made quick work of the Weepinbell, twirling and lashing out with both scythe and hardened wing until the slower plant was defeated.

The thug gulped, and with a clammy hand, sent out his final Pokémon.

"Whimsicott, Hurricane!"

"Yami, Wing Attack!"

The two Pokémon clashed, and their attacks landed, but Whimsicott was just an inkling faster, and was able to get another weak gust in to finish off the heavily damaged Scyther. Rei grimaced; Scyther was arguably the strongest in his team; who could finish the Grass/Fairy off?

He paused, thought for a second, and in a last-ditch effort, sent out his Venipede.

"Cho, good luck. Dodge that Hurricane and use Poison Tail!" The hurricane whooshed towards the Venipede, but the gods must have been merciful; it barely missed. Cho, believing it to be its only chance, swung its barbed tail out and latched onto the Whimsicott, injecting all its available venom into the attack. Whimsicott cried out in pain as the poison quickly spread throughout its tiny body, and it quickly developed a splitting headache.

"I don't care if you hit yourself with the Hurricane, attack! Get rid of it!" The Hurricane was launched again, but at such close range, the Venipede was able to inject the second round of special venom before it received a Hurricane to the face.

The Venoshock did its job, though. The grunt watched in horror as his final Pokémon writhed on the ground in a prolonged agony before finally losing consciousness.

Rei blinked. Through numbers alone did he win this match. He recalled his passed out Venipede and was speechless as his powerful adversary escaped, defeated.

At his belt, a Pokéball jiggled. Magikarp was more than happy to receive the free EXP.
