"I just feel like I'm accepting things a little too quickly is all. I just watched my daughter, not even a year old, rip off and chew on a dove's head before tearing into another one. I was human just a few days ago, but I didn't even flinch like most people." Riley said as he pulled his knees into his chest. 'Maybe I accepted vampirism a little too soon...'

Mala's face lit up to a bright, bright, bright red as she took on a look of pure surprise at Van's words and actions. "I...I'm trying the best I can considering the situation!" she stuttered quite nervously once she was able to speak again.

"Sorry, didn't mean to make you blush that much!" Van said with a chuckle as he placed a kiss on her cheek.
"That's what bothers me, I wouldn't be so freaked out about all this if I didn't just wake up and suddenly have no qualms about drinking from people." Riley said looking up at Alek from where he sat.

Alek sighed and gave him a one-armed hug. "I'm sorry that I can't really empathize with you. I was born into this life... you were brought into it. I bet if my family hadn't come along, you wouldn't have ever had any desire whatsoever to become a vampire." He shrugged.

"And here I was thinking we'd never bond." Riley said managing to crack a half smile. He really did appreciate Alek's small attempt at cheering him up, and it certainly went better than Val's attempt.
"I didn't think it was that out of character..." Van said, starting to turn a little pink in the cheeks.
((Oh man....While there were some fairly forgettable series this night in anime club, there was, as always, the good, the bad, the awesome, and the one that made us all go 'WTF?!?!' And it was glorious.))

"That, I could tell. I can't remember you saying anything outside of death threats to me after my original lapse in intelligence." Riley said. Yes, he had been a dumbass and gotten Angel knocked up, but he'd never once shown any sign that he was going to a douche and run out on her or anything.
((DAMN it's foggy today! My view from the tenth floor is hilariously nonexistant right now. xd ))

((Dood. You can bet I'm joining your new rp, but I had an idea I wanted to get your approval on first. I was planning on making a rogue/thief, and was thinking she could secretly be one of the criminal mob after Adelle or something, but maybe with ulterior motives or something for a reason why she hasn't nabbed Adelle and turned her in yet.))
