Ever thought about what Aurora said and then gasped and jumped up from her chair, knocking over the three books on her chair in the process.
"Oh my gosh! Aurora, put together what you said with the last part of the passage. You think it has something to do with the lake, and the last part says something about the willow being about to sustain large amounts of water for a sustained period of time."
She looked at Aurora with wide eyes. "Aurora, could the tree actually be at the bottom of the lake?! That's how it would come in contact with a lot of water for a sustained amount of time!"

Aurora blinked then smiled. "Yes!" she said. "This Willow is very likely at the bottom of the lake; and if it isn't the same Willow, it is something related, I am sure of it." She looked back at her notes, then specifically at the 'Whomping Willow' suggestion. "But I do not think that it is the Relic, and I do not believe we are any closer to actually obtaining the Relic. The Willow is, more likely, a guardian for the Relic. Why else would it fight back? The Relics were not made to fight, from my understanding; they were made to withold."

Ever gasped again and then a huge smile broke out on her face. "That's it! We've figured it out! Aurora, you're right! A tree has got to be guarding the Relic!"
She hugged Aurora tightly and then pulled back a few moments later. "I have to let Ares know about this! Come on, we have to leave the room because I don't think he can get into this Room. Otherwise, he would have found this place before I was created. But I want you with me since you helped discover this, too!"
She walked out of the Room and then telepathically called out to Ares, asking him to come to her.

Aurora didn't move, but she reached out and took a gentle hold of Evermore's arm. "Evermore, did you forget that the Headmistress' sheild is still up? No one, not even a god, can pierce it. It is impregnable. If Ares is not here now, he will not be able to come. I do not think Headmistress Krause is particularly fond of him." Her words were gentle, but firm, and she softly tugged Evermore back.
"I don't think we should even try, either. It would be more productive to try and ascertain what the Relic is." She gestured to the many books still sitting out.

Ever groaned and facepalmed lightly. "Oh my gosh. I can't believe I forgot about that."
Then, she gasped softly and looked back up at Aurora, a slow smirk beginning to show on her face. "Wait... We have figured this out and Ares and the other gods can't come here. I won't get in trouble for doing this without them because I had no say in this barrier being put up, but this also means that we can work on this stuff on our own! We can work on this without the gods interfering! This is awesome, Aurora!"

Aurora laughed lightly, a quiet sound that wasn't as forward as when she laughed with Bo. She shook her head at Evermore. "You are right, of course," she said. "But you also forgot that Aphrodite is still at Bai Ching, so she may decide that she has interest in this matter as well. We should just hope that she does not gain access to this Room."

Ever laughed lowly, mischievously. "No, I didn't forget about Aphrodite at all. I don't mind pissing her off. I will keep her in the dark on purpose and no one would find that surprising, not even Zeus himself."
She got the message from Ares about being busy and her smirk grew. "Oh this keeps getting better and better... Ares just said that he was too busy to talk with me. This is perfect! I don't have to tell him anything now by his own request! I can't get in trouble here and we're both completely free of the gods' interference!"
She ran over to the enchanted window and looked down at the mysterious lake. "This is amazing. We should probably find out more about how to get past the tree before we go down there to investigate. Hell, we should figure out how to get down there in the first place."
Raven had listened intently to the girls and was now smiling brightly, not that anyone could see. "This is wonderful, girls! We fairies and spirits always thought that we were guarding something very important and magical for the school, but we never knew what specifically it was. The less people who knew, the better. When we learned that even the Headmasters themselves had never known what was in the lake, we did not become offended or demand to know what it was we were guarding. We simply did what our ancestors before us did. Well, you have the first barrier covered already. As soon as I explain all of this to my family and friends, you'll be able to get past us easily!"
Ever turned and grinned brightly at Raven and then at Aurora. "This is all falling into place so well! It's almost insane!"

Aurora nodded. "It is indeed like a puzzle; when you have all the pieces, but none are together, it is simply a mess of little bits. However, when they begin to fit, you start to put them together faster and faster, with less errors."
Then she grinned. "I can easily get myself underwater. I am a shapeshifter; I can be a fish or a mermaid or anything I choose. It will be no problem for me. What we truly must worry about is how to get you underwater--you and Akira."
And Aurora, even as she spoke, continued to think. The Room and the Relic--perhaps not even just Bai Ching's Relic, perhaps every Relic in existence--were linked. She could feel it in her soul, and she had never been particularly adept at any sort of sixth sense sort of nonsense. It was, simply, not her area of expertise. But she could tell... Just like in a puzzle, they could get nowhere without the Room and they would know nothing without the Relic. It simply was how it was meant to be.

Ever nodded. "Well, I won't die underwater since I'm a goddess. Immortal and everything, but it's not exactly fun not breathing. You know how uncomfortable hiccups are? Well, it's sort of like that. I'm not gonna die from hiccups, but they sure are uncomfortable, even painful sometimes."
She sighed and looked toward one of the bookshelves. "I'm not sure if Akira will be able to make this trip with us. I mean, I want her with us and everything, but with this trip, I'm not sure she should come. Look at what happened during the fight yesterday. She changed at exactly the wrong time and if that barrier hadn't been up, we all could have been in some serious trouble. Obviously she's my best friend, but I'm looking out for her best interest and ours. We can't risk having her freak out on us again when we're underwater."

Nik groaned as he laid down the overly frisky dragon on the bed, not letting himself enjoy her frisking for too long. That would just be extremely awkward. Nik felt slightly off as he stood in the silence of the room, Aurora having now left the two of them alone. Save for Caroline. Nik flexed his fingers as he inhaled the cool crisp air in the room, feeling his addiction pulling in the back of his brain.
Walking up behind Ari, he placed his hands on her hips and leaned his head down to her ear. "I'm going out for a smoke. Be back in a bit." He rumbled out as he pulled away, leaving her to contemplate the meaning of his actions. To the end Nik was a player and a heartbreaker. And be damned if it didn't feel completly right.
Walking out of the room, he swiftly pulled out a pack of smokes and zippo. Upon lighting up the stick of nicotine, he felt instantly calmed by the smoke that entered into his hungry lungs. A slight groan escaped the half breeds lips, and if you weren't paying close enough attention, you would think it was a purr of pleasure. Close guess anyway.
Nik could tell that both his children and his workers were still asleep, which was probably for the best. He was in the mood to prowl, and baby sitting didn't help with a mission like that. Don't get him wrong, he loved his kids. He just wasn't used to parenthood yet, or the responsibilities it came with. While monitering their auras constantly, Nik had noticed a couple auras he recognized drop off the face of the Earth. Last he'd detected was they were in the room that he'd just been in, Aurora's room. How odd.
He really didn't want his presence to be known by Ari just yet, so he teleported to the location in his mind's eye, not entirely knowing where that location was at since he'd never been to it. In a flash of light the demigod was gone, and stood now in the center of her bathroom. Nik was puzzled, and began scenting the room for where the newest scent was of the two girls. It was the shower itself. As if trying to crack a code, he began to knock on the inner wall of the shower looking for a trap door or something that would have wisked the girls away from here.
((I don't remember the exact location of the room, so please correct me if I'm incorrect. And if this situation doesn't work either.))

Ever gasped and jumped when she heard a knocking on the door. Well actually, it'd be like someone was knocking on the wall. It had nearly given her a heart attack! But she quickly calmed down and then looked at the door and then Aurora in confusion.
"Someone's knocking on the door?! Well, the wall. Why don't they just open it?... Oh my gosh! It must be someone who doesn't know about the door but saw us come into the dorm room or bathroom and now it looks like we've disappeared! Aurora, can you see who's on the other side? Is that possible in this Room? You've been here more than I have."

((I apologize if I sound like a stickler for this, but three problems with the current situation-- 1) the Room is in Aurora's dorm, not Akira's, and it is, as Laura has said, in the shower; 2) the Room closes itself unless someone deliberately holds it open, and its door really will not reveal anything--it would simply appear to someone who cannot see the door as if people were walking through the wall; and 3) I really don't know if the Room would even show for Nik. The only reason I'm being so insistend with this is that I feel it's very important for the story, and I'd prefer for some consistency on this. (Also, the door is a beautiful and ancient and elaborate door, if I remember correctly.)))
