Random's question died on the air. He too had liked the old man, although the funny drink he liked had left something to be desired. Jeanie's tears had only served to upset him more, and his brow furrowed, unable to come up with any way to comfort her. He put a hand on her forearm, very softly, looking at her watery eyes with his sad ones. He wanted to say something, but couldn't come up with anything. At least, for right now. After dinner, maybe. Without even realizing it, he was still playing the game.

Alice was going to reply to Teaser the cat, when the King made his entrance. She had enough sense to sit at that moment to keep from being noticed and all at once she noticed everyone else at the table. She did not know who any of them might be but there was talk of death at the table and the one who said that the person was dead was looking upset. The girl next to her was crying and the male next to her looked sad. Her eyes looked over each person in turn. Alice had never been the best judge of character, but she knew she didn't like the one woman and man sitting near each other. Nearer to Alice was a man who looked like royalty but she didn't see how he could be when it was obvious who the king was. For Alice, dinner was forgotten at the table, as the night had made her curious as to who all the people were.
Mark reluctantly sat next to Alice when the King entered. There was no way he would leave Alice on her own at the table. But he'd wished she hadn't come in that room at all...Too much could happen and go wrong...
Izzy frowned. The castle... No way. There were too many rooms to check there. Besides the King. Why oh why couldn't this just be easy. Her eyes flicked over to the twins and to Antoinette. They had offered to help and it would be easier if it was more than the two of them. With a sigh she made up her mind. "Antoinette. Go ahead. Make sure she went to the castle..." Her attention was back at the twins. "When we get there we'll have to search the whole castle so of course you can help. We need all the help we can get..."
Antoinette exited teh house and went to the nearest tree. If it could have move, it would have shyed away from her touch but it didn't move. She brushed her fingers against the trunk, asking it if it could find where Isabelle was last seen. It took less than a second for it to confirm that the trees had seen her heading towards the castle. She headed back and told the others what she had seen.
((I'm going to add a New Hatter to the mix here soon for Alice... Mad Aunt Maggie... or something along those lines... I'll get her added here soon. But for now...))
There were footsteps all around Alice. She wouldn't be able to tell where they were coming from. She might have even felt as if she was being watched. It wasn't Duke (He had gone to his room oblivious of everything going on right now.) but another Hatter Alice hadn't been introduced to yet.
((Ace has been posted for before... I didn't see a reply for him... I'll go look again here in a moment.))

The blonde DorMous was rather comfortable in the arms that carried her away from the room. She had a lazy arms around his neck and the other on his shoulder. Though the took one away to tap her chin a little. The danger had really been forgotten, though there was a faint sound of clanking every now again. “My tail?” she asked when it was mentioned. Instinctively the tail was drawn closer to herself. His words seemed to make sense. It wouldn’t be a fun game at all if they were always it! She was always it when the King had played with her. If she had found him, he would claim royal right to call where ever he was hiding home base. Silly King, was all she had thought about that. Right now her head nodded to his words. “Must quite as a ChurchMouses,” she giggled thinking of those distant cousins. They were a rather dull bunch, at least she thought so.
“We should check near the tower!” she said when he asked for a suggestion. There wouldn’t be as many people there, only a few guards and they rarely went very high. Myrine had alluded to securing them a room in one of the towers earlier. Perhaps the small girl’s cousin had gone there. It certainly seemed cleaver to Sinope as she giggled softly in the arms of the card.
Myrine was almost feeling a little giddy. Here she was so near the king, the main person she wanted to avoid, and all she could think about was watching for a scarp of food to fall. Sin seemed to behaving herself in Random’s other pocket. Myrine knew however that Sinope was prone to be a little more easily frightened during the night time hours. So, she didn’t worry that the girl would come out. No, her red eyes followed the food as it came into Random’s lap then over to her.
Small paws took up the rather large piece of meat, at least for her size, and started to nibble quickly. She listened to the conversation. Her heart sank a little at finding out that the old captain was dead. That was troublesome. It was on his boat that she had hoped that she would get away from this castle again. Licking her lips, she was about to ask Random for a drink some how, but the boy had shifted to pat Jeanie sending her slipping into the bottom of the pocket.
Contents in the pocket had shifted as well, burying the little white mouse. Crossing her small front limbs over her she huffed softly and childishly. “Random!” she said though he probably couldn’t hear her squeaky tones, before thrashing about in the pocket. ((Haha, so many words go underused! I am bring Kudo's back! *coughs* or something. Wee sorry ya'll hyper. ))

Play by my rules… Purple eyes seemed to gleam brighter with his orders to have the servant taken away. Rhoule didn’t like being wet when he hadn’t meant to be. He was about to growl the orders again, for it seemed that the cards were taking to long to throw the poor servant away. Yet when the other would be queen told of the old King of Hearts fate, the young King froze. Dead? How could that be? Luckily that explanation was given before he even had to order the others to tell him. He turned to look at Magenta blinking a little. The old man can’t be dead! the spade thought with surprising sadness. In fact it seemed like he would perhaps cry over the loss of his favorite and most heated opponent. “Killed…” he sounded his purple eyes roving over to where his cousin sat.
“And under my roof! With out permission!? How could you let that happen?” Rhoule growled practically. Was that why he was getting upset. That such an action had happen in his castle with him being consulted! If he wanted to man dead, there were many assassins in the castle that could have taken care of that. She has taken out a piece in my game with out asking, the king pouted crossing his arms his eyes narrowing. “Don’t give me an stupid excuse that it was his life or yours,” he huffed at the bloody queen. Why hadn’t she just said plainly that the old man is dead! It felt sneaky to him. The King defiantly didn’t like sneaky. He always wanted to be kept in the loop. In the know of all things. Which being king it was usually easy to do just that.
But then again, he wasn’t very observant. Or rather, he was distracted easily. He really hadn’t noticed that some girl, Alice, was at the table along with a Marsh Hare, Mark. He would see them eventually. Because he would have to get distracted from the problems at hand sometime. ...or don't play at all.

Haven's anger boiled at the suggestive words that Darkness laced through Haven's ears. "If he has dared to touch her in any way less than innocent, I shall have his head," he spoke softly to himself and the man behind his chair, his teeth locked in anger. He began to politely pick at his plate, trying to contain all his rage at the boy. One look at Jeanie... and his anger would turn to sadness... What made her choose Random over Haven? What made that foolish, possibly mad, boy so... tempting? "How much do you know about the Boy?" he softly asked Darkness. He wanted an inside scoop on this child. Something key... He wanted his Jeanie... Haven did notice when Jeanie's eyes locked with his own and he smiled softly at the fact he could still catch her attention. And make her blush. He chewed with his mouth closed and his poise was perfect. All things he had mastered as a boy in the royal family. As the answers led to telling of Posiedon's demise, he couldn't help but feel a little relieved. There was no telling how many times that geezer had stolen from the diamond kingdom. Then he glanced back to the damsel of his eye... and Random's eyes were locked to hers. His knuckles went white from the tight grip on the fork. Nothing would have made him happier than if that boy were on his plate... He focused back on the dark man... perhaps the answer lied in who his enemy was... and undoing his very reality. Random seemed to always be living in his own world... what if that world was torn asunder and reality was brought to him with a hard slap? Haven took a few deep breaths as his vision of a broken Random filled his thoughts. He slowly calmed to the soothing thoughts.
Tass smiled and nodded, "Yes, quiet as Churchmouses," he echoed softly. Her suggestion was actually quite good, even if she had a little misunderstanding on the true happenings on in the present. He raced to the tower with her in his arms, before he had an idea. "Sinope DorMouse, I hope you do not find my request rude, but would you kindly climb in my suit of armor as a mouse? I would rather you be as hidden as possible. And it would make you slightly lighter to boot," he asked and explained. He had to give himself bonus points for all these thoughts on the spot.
((DorMouse Cuddly, not March Hare.))
Gale picked at the more liquid based foods, being that his mechanical side did not use solids well. As Random's shirt began to rustle, he checked out the region with his heat sensing and... he found it to be ONE Dormouse. Gale kept his cool, but his mind began to race.

Alice shivered as she heard footsteps, "Hello?" she called. "If that's you Ly.. I swear.." her voice started out strong, but as the footsteps echoed everywhere she began to get really quite worried. Not funny boy. She thought, fighting the urge to run
"Perfect!" smiled the twins, "We can leave immediately." They looked about them at the room. "Come along all, we must save Isabelle"
Josh ran straight out after Antionette. He watched her strange movements and when she went inside, remained out to watch for any attacking creatures whilst the others made ready to leave
((No, you're right cuddly, Mark's a hare. I think ninja may have read the list wrong? As in he hasn't noticed Alice, Mark or Myrine the DorMouse?))
'Magenta' forced her smile to stay hidden. She was glad the King felt indignant, although apparently for the wrong reasons. Maybe that murderer will get her comeuppance.. She thought in hope
Jeanie badly wanted to say something to Haven, she wanted to talk to him. But that would disturb the dinner, and cause problems for Master. I cannot allow that She did, however, brush Random's arm off her own, "Not right now, okay?" She whispered as she mechanically began to eat something. Observing the rituals of dinner whilst her eyes noted the small part of Haven's tattoo that was visible to her causing memories to flood back into her mind and colour to flood back into her cheeks. Silently, she watched him

Random did not protest Jeanie brushing his hand off. He eased back into his own chair and adjusted himself. His hand went to his pocket quietly and helped Myrine back to the top of the pocket. "Sorry." He whispered, "Not hurt?" He stroked her back softly.
Darkness smiled. "I know almost everything about him." It said softly. It was laughing inwardly at the very thought of Random engaged in the acts it had hinted at. Such a thing might even scare the boy. "He is an agent of chaos, and I think that you must have already seen he has no respect for nobility or rules, unless they are rules to a game. He only listens to Cyrillia, I think, because he thinks of her very much like his own mother, the one who had him committed to the hospital. Oh, I did not mention he was in an asylum? And his only friend in there killed herself while he was in a padded room? He is vulnerable, your Grace. Very vulnerable."
Teaser definitely did not like the way Haven was looking at Random. She had a disturbing notion why, but it would be impossible to articulate it right now at the dinner table. And that vicious Darkness only seemed to be feeding the flames. She excused herself from Alice and padded over to Gale's seat. "I don't like the way this seems to be going." She whispered. "One king is dead, and another across the way with murder in his eyes."

The blonde female almost wanted to bounce in Tass’ arms. Everything was going well, at least in her mind. This was all a game of hide and seek to her. They were it in route to find her surprisingly crafty cousin. Little did she realize that it had become quite the opposite. That they were the ones going to hide and that there were cards on their… her tail. No, her mind had shut out the bad thoughts, leaving the better ones to have free range over her thinking. Putting a finger to Tass’ lips she whispered, “ChurchMouses whisper. Always.” She gave a little nod, before putting her hand over her lips to suppress a giggle.
Mismatched eyes blinked rapidly as both her first name and last name was produced by the card. Myrine only used it when she wanted complete attention from the girl. This active attention was now given to her protector of sorts, now that Myrine was ’hiding’. “Oh,” she said a smile easily going back to its place on her face. “Why would it be rude?” she inquired as she started to shift into her tiny plump mouse form. “And why must I hide?” she continued the questioning as she finished her shift.
The older DorMouse side as a button or a coin or just some random piece of something fell on her after her thrashings. Little did she know that she had attracted the attentions of mechanical male that had picked up Sinope earlier. Really had she been her usually careful self, she probably would have found her way to the top of the pocket again. But this was simply not the case. No, she was being a tad more childish then she had been during the day. So at the bottom of the pocket she pouted until she saw a hand coming to scoop her up.
Back to hanging on Random’s pocket, she let out a small happy sigh. His stroke to her tiny back was slightly relaxing. It had been a stressful day, and the DorMouse didn’t mind letting herself be petted. Though it went against her usual sensibilities of not being treated like an pet even in animal from. But Random meant no harm, and it felt good, so there you go. Yawning with a content smile after, she looked up to the silly male. “I am quite alright,” she assured the boy. But the question was in her mind was if he was alright? From what little she knew of him, this ‘gentry’ way of acting was not his style. The game had to be getting old. "How is it going out there?" she asked not being able to see many faces from her spot.

((Is Mark at the table? Oh, Mark and Alice are? What? I noticed Myrine.
Wow... I was wrong. My bad.))
Gale nodded to Teaser as he glanced over to Haven. "Not to mention, we're missing a mouse," he replied softly before he sipped at the spoonful of soup. He wondered if she knew about the missing DorMouse from her sense of smell. Or if Myrine knew. The latter being more delicate about the peculiar situation. His heat sensing, still active, picked up Haven's rage exceedingly well. His heart beat was fast.
Haven's heart sped up at the delightful news. Random had been in an asylum? He was from Earth... And a disfunctional life in Earth?! It couldn't get more perfect. "How much does Jeanie know? Why did the friend kill herself? You are becoming most helpful, my dark spy. This will not go unrewarded," he replied softly, his mind racing. "Please continue... in detail. About everything..." he added.
Tass blushed lightly as her finger touched his lips. He nodded though, agreeing that whispering would be better. "For me to request anything of a fair maiden, especially to reveal a more delicate form, could be construed as rude. You must hide because you look adorable as a mouse," he whispered, explaining and complimenting. He smiled softly at her and placed his hand up near the collar to his chainmail and armor, so that she could slip into a comfortable place, perhaps under his shouldar plate.

Teaser turned and sniffed the air. "Oh, my. I hadn't noticed that both of them weren't here. I had assumed they both were in his pockets. I certainly hope our wayward one at least stayed with their friend. I think that if one of us tried to leave dinner, the King might be quite upset. I do hope she's all right."
Darkness grinned as it spoke. "The devil is in the details, Your Grace. Jeanie knows very little, and I doubt that she knows that the jacket he wears so prominently is used to bind madmen. It's called a straightjacket. The reason his mother sent him to the asylum was that she was afraid for his younger sister. He was never quite right in the head, you see. In the hospital," it said this last word with distaste,"he met a girl with... depression issues. She made him a dull little knife in crafts. Gale has it now. How they became friends, I will never know... perhaps that annoying bubbliness cheered her some... anyway, after a year there he attacked another patient with a chair. He went to the cell they call the Quiet Room for a week. In that week, she took her life. After he heard, he wouldn't let them take the jacket off. He became more obsessed with his games and puzzles. Soon after that, he came here. He is quite mad, Your Majesty."

((Ninja! How dare you not notice Mark and Alice... I feel insulted. But it is ok. I tried to keep them unnoticed... apparently I did a very good job))
The footsteps slowed and were less frequent but there was no answer to Alice's accusation. The eyes still followed Alice, though Alice couldn't see the eyes, she might have been able to feel the stare. Whom ever it was following Alice, knew their way around the House and they knew how to stay hidden from sight.
Izzy followed behind the twins, her mind on overload. There hadn't been a problem with her mom out at night since she was little. It was a lot to take in. Izzy (who hated memories and was terrified at night) couldn't stop thinking about the only time she had seen her mother out at night. Not good at all.
Antoinette was happy. Well as happy as she could be. She was surrouned by people and she wasn't afraid (partly because it was night time and partly because they made her feel welcome). The only thing that didn't make her happy was the fact that they were going after Isabelle. Poor Isabelle. Such a deep dark secret... Antoinette would help, because she liked Izzy and the twins.
Isabelle had made it to the castle. It wasn't hard to keep from the guards (though she wasn't trying to keep away from them). She wasn't looking for anything in particular, but her thirst for blood was getting to be unbareable. She'd have to find something soon...

Sinope squeaked happily at his whispered compliments. His words had not embarrassed her but pleased her. "I am glad you talk more," she said as he raised her to his collar. Stepping carefully off his hand and on to his neck, Sin tried not to let her small claws dig into him too much. Her warm little fuzzy body soon was under the armor. The chain mail was a bit cold though so she moved to his neck area trying to find a warm spot. "If we catch them, I know the best places! Even the King wouldn't be able to find us there." She was happy to see him. He was a piece of home that hadn't turned her away. Hadn't thrown her in the dungeon... She would cling to him, as long as he allowed her. Or until they found Myrine. "Oh where oh where has my Mymy gone, oh where, oh where can she be? With her ears so round and her tail so long, oh where, oh where, can she be?" A couple of squeaks came from her. "If she is in the tower, I bet she is in one of the middle rooms. She hates heights." ((Sooooo are since it still night.. are there things that are going to go bump?))
