Sammy looked over and saw Ms. Maddy and Mr. Ginji. "Aww, that's so sweet~" She commented, the first real grin she had given to someone in days finally appearing.

Maddy thought about it for a few minutes, completely silent. She then solemnly whispered in Ginji's ear, "I gotta tell you something later on... or whenever you're not busy..."

"Oh..." Was Sammy's only response as they landed. She didn't want to accidently force Jack into saying something he didn't want to.

"Well... I didn't exactly escape from the explosion unscathed..." She kept really quiet. "Uhmmm... I didn't wanna tell anyone and make em worry..." She glanced at the others to make sure they couldn't hear her. "You're the only one who can help me..." She looked down, biting her lip.

Sammy gasped, just now noticing the time. "Holy fung a bunch of dung! I've gotta go; bye~" She called, taking off on Vixen again.

Jack shrugged and walked off. "I'm such a great liar." He scoffed. He walked down the street, towards the city gym.

Ginji turned around to look at Maddy in the eyes, he towered over her gently. Without wavering, even though he was cared, he hugged her. "Where does it hurt?" he whispered back as he held her, not caring about Jack.

Maddy looked down, avoiding eye contact. "When you guys were escaping, I had to prevent Josec and the other two from pursuing you... Seconds before the explosion, all I remember is falling into darkness and I was fighting Josec and next thing you know all I could see was blue flame and there was a searing pain down my back..." She shifted uneasily. "I had myself surrounded by my flames at the time, so that explains how I survived the explosion. But as a final act Josec managed to slash at me with his claws... I can't get a good look at them, but I have 3 long gashes on my back, and they're constantly burning... I dunno what to do..." She rested her head against his chest, finding comfort in being held by him.

"Where do you suggest we go? I have a serum back at HQ, it could quell the pain and such." Ginji smiled as he continued to whisper in Maddy's ear. He had perfected it after the serum had knocked Blatoise out cold.

"Yeah, let's do that..." She kissed him on the cheek. "I'm sick of being in pain all the time... I think one of me ribs might be broken too but I don't wanna bother checking..." She whistled and Star flew down from out of nowhere. She hopped on Star's back and they took off.

"Heh. Yeah..." Maddy reached over her shoulder and felt her back under her shirt. She could feel 3 thin grooves going down her back. They were cold as ice to the touch, but as she felt them the burning feeling worsened. "Oww..."
