That trailer has all the worst aspects of Gaia.
Beak hair, Vexa spheres, people handling 6 swords at a time...
...Hael.

It would be an interesting comparison to gather people's formed mental images of the people here, the personality each user uses online, and stack them up against the real thing.
Though hell if anyone has the time, patience, lack-of-sanity to do that. - 0-

RAHGGGGG
I believe our personalities and temperaments per environment have too many aspects to realistically compare even our projected "online" persona versus our "real" persona.
An old saying: give a man a mask, they'll tell you the truth.
Another: 12 year olds are badass online.

The Haelstrom Fist
An old saying: give a man a mask, they'll tell you the truth.
I couldn't say it better myself.
I'm much more inclined to be myself here, where I don't have to -see- people judging me, than in the real world where I have to deal with tangible consequences to my actions!

Thus why it would be entirely improbable such a study would ever occur. ._____.
The only other 12-year-olds I know online troll Omegle, and THAT'S about it.

My internet persona is, like, about six degrees more arrogant than how I am RL. Also, I cannot express how flaming I am or how hard of a ******** geek I am online, so those really don't show and I just go HURR I HAVE A WELL-USED GIANT DONG.
But there's not a huge difference between the two. I'm just far, far too lazy to bother inventing some new, totally cool persona for the sake of random ******** online.

I don't know. I mean, I've eaten small portions of remains IRL, but I don't kill people IRL.
So I think there's a significant difference between my IRL and online personalities, though its possible that might only be a difference of power.

There aren't drastic differences between RL Elli and Online Elli. But IRL, I'm much more likely to smile and be polite if I think you're an idiot!

Old Man KB I've eaten small portions of remains IRL Of what, exactly? o uo ;
I have to agree with Elli too. I don't think I act much different offline, other than the facts that: you all can't see me every time I laugh; and I don't habitually smile at you when I really don't care.
.____. All the 'cute' or 'polite' disappears without instinctive physical reactions to social cues.

Elliterate I couldn't say it better myself.

x3 True!
To contrast, even when I know what I say could get my a** beat though I can handle myself, I ain't got the patience to live a coward's life. I say and do as I please within reason, sometimes out of reason. Fact, the more I know I shouldn't keep challenging a situation, the more I find the drive to.
But something I get both online and offline: people think I'm in shitty joke mode 24-7 sometimes, to the point I've been told I'm insensitive by those I don't open up to for whatever reason.
I'm a god at making a poker face in person. Didn't shed a single tear at my own grandfather's funeral (who I lived with all my life) until I could cover my face.
That's the tricky part: even when we got a feel for how someone is in person and online, I sometimes question if I really know them. So I challenge and poke and prod them and probably piss them off every now and again.
But I get a feel for who they are as a result. The difference between a friend and an associate.
