Hello, first off I'm new but I recognize several people here. *waves to Taylor_Highwind*
I don't have class today because of snow. To me, it isn't much but I really did not want to go to Western Civ and Basic Computer Lit.

I live in Buffalo and we never have snow days. We only have them if there's a huge blizzard at 3 AM before the plows can get out, or if we have a wind day for freezing winds.
I laugh when my boyfriend in Atlanta gets snow days becuse there's "a chance of snow". People in Georgia flip out if they see a single flake and go off to raid stores for rock salt and anti freeze.

When I was younger, I lived in Southern Cali (about an hour away from LA) and it would snow every other year.. and when it DID snow, it was only a few inches.. maybe 3inches tops.. and we would get a snow day ^^
Then I moved to Northern Cali.. where we still had school even after 3-4 ft of snow rofl and one time, we had snow on the ground from November till almost March or so...

The problem in Buffalo is we have periodic cycles of heating and cooling, causing the snow to melt and then freeze again as ice on the roads. Also, we have wind comming off the lake that causes a bitter windchill. The snow is no problem, we just shovel it and then go sledding and skiing. And have a BBQ.
