"You can always eat," Maia grinned at him. "Hm, I don't know. Want to decide downstairs?" maybe pancakes? Maybe eggs? Maybe both? She gave him another kiss. "I love you."

"Sure." Toby smiled, propped himself up, and stroked Maia's hair and cheek. "I love you too. Last night was amazing."

Maia smiled at him. "I thought so too," she agreed, ruffling his hair. Maybe he wouldn't have to wait so long for the next time. She leaned against him. "What do you think? Pancakes, eggs and sausage?"

Toby's smile grew. Good! So she didn't regret it. He nodded then and rolled away to get out of bed. He stretched and reached for Maia's hand.
"Come, my lady. Breakfast awaits." Well, cooking it did anyway.

Maia took Toby's hand and climbed off of the bed. She stood and kissed his cheek. They didn't have to go anywhere today, did they? They could wear pajamas all day if they liked? It seemed like a pajama sort of day.

Back downstairs, Dari smiled when the couple came down. Toby colored slightly. He had heard all of that, hadn't he? He just smiled back and headed for the kitchen. Pancakes, eggs, and sausage. It'd be a feast.

"Good morning Dari," Maia greeted her favorite alien with a smile. "We're making pancakes, want to help?" She followed Toby into the kitchen.

Dari nodded. "Sure!" He could use a little friendship today. He followed the couple into the kitchen and started collecting the things he knew they would need. He'd seen Toby do it enough times to have a basic idea.
"Alright, Dari. This morning, you're making your own pancake."
"I am?"
"Yes. It's time." The last two words were said rather dramatically.

Dari was willing to join them, which pleased Maia. They were a family. "You'll like them," She assured him. "The texture's soft and fluffy."
She got the sausage out of the fridge and offered it to Toby.

Toby accepted the sausage and put it on the counter, then went searching in the recipe drawer. He offered the recipe to Maia and nodded to Dari.
"It's up to you two this morning." It'd be fun!

Maia took the recipe and read it over carefully. "I'll read it to you, Dari." She got out a large bowl to mix the pancakes in, offering it to Dari.
She started to read off ingredients.

Dari put the bowl on the counter, knowing that it could easily grow too heavy for him when full of batter. He knew how to measure, though, and followed Maia's instructions with the hope she wasn't misreading. Toby was just standing back and watching until sausage time. He trusted Maia to cook my herself. If she could bake, she could follow a recipe.

After the ingredients had all been measured, she offered Dari a whisk in order to mix them. She looked to Toby and smiled.

Toby smiled and gave Maia a wink, but Dari was concentrating on whisking. His wrist bent oddly at first, so he moved his bones to be external in approximately 8 seconds and was able to whisk much more easily.
"I went out on a drive last night," he said. "It was rather nice."
Toby sighed internally. So he'd left. They had been alone. Good.

Maia went over to Toby and wrapped her arms around him. "Where did you go?" She asked, curiously. She didn't make any mention of what they'd done last night. "Time to make sausage?"
