}Alrighty then..^^{ Asherah leaned down and scooped up her boots, thus pulling them on and lacing them up. She then spoke.
"Well-" she tied a quick tight bow on her right boot, "I guess our best bet is o just look about the town for an Inn as you've said. Although, that boat is really tempting." A sly giggle escaped her.
Dusting herself off, she trotted up to Ryugi with ease in her high heeled boots.
"Shall we then?" Of course said with a smile.
Grabbing her back and slinging it over her shoulder, Asherah made her way to the road and gave a soft sigh. They'd better get looking sooner than later, she was a bit on the tired side, seeing as she had just arrived not even two hours ago. her mouth watered at the thought of a meal and sleeping in a nice comfy bed. Asherah let her eyes wander out in front of her, straining to see a light.
"Hey, Ryugi. You see that light over there? Blue? Neon?" She pointed ahead of them and turned to look at him. "I think it says hotel, or something. Luuuccckkky break."

You seem to be in a good mood despite your own condition. I suppose the fights going well!
Owle nodded vigorously, quite pleased with herself. She wasn't sure she was winning, but she certainly hadn't lost...
And then a large number of snakes got pulled from Owle's body into Rain's mindscape, to be used in the battle, causing the churning Maximos was seeing. Scant moments later, Owle, battle-weary, stepped out.
Do you remember anything about the last few minutes? Anything at all?
Owle squirmed uncomfortably under his gaze, looking absolutely mortified. She gave a nervous little laugh before replying. "Um...unfortunately...yes..."
He'd seemed to take to it well, from what she could remember now that she and her snakes were united again. In a strange way, she was the one who had done it...the snakes were a part of her, they just had the odd ability to exist seperately for a little while. The snakes were Owle without restraint, with only the bare minimum of logic and reasoning. And she couldn't help but feel she'd made a spectacle of herself by leaving them alone in her body for as long as she had.

Sunstrike He gave Siat a helpless look. "I dunno, go on vacation? To put it in a bit of perspective, if Tijae's in trouble, it won't be small trouble, demon's don't do small trouble, as a general rule." He thought about it for a moment. "Then again, making her might have meant that any trouble she get's into can be put back to me...karma's kinda vauge on the subject. She's got emotions, though, so I kind of figured, wind her up and let her loose, y'know?" He'd been a little pressed at the time, maybe she wasn't developing as humanly as she should have been. "Whatever you do, I'm going with you." He stood up, as if this was going to enforce his point, his chair screeching and scraping backwards as he did so. He swallowed, a look of determination emblazoned across his face, his normally cheerful demeanour seemingly plagued with thoughts of loyalty and heroism. As far as he thought, there'd be no dissuading him.

Such an energetic city, and yet nothing going on... at least, until Rage picked up on a familiar energy in the building a couple blocks in front of him. What the hell was Owle doing at the Barton Hospital? It didn't really occur to him to try to send a message through their link - instead he took off at a run to figure out what was going on.
It wasn't that he didn't trust his friends and family by themselves, but he was like his mother, worrying about everything.

((ragingtofu's alt; this isn't pupeteering.))
There was no real point in sticking around this hospital besides Owle - Slash had been wandering the corridors aimlessly for quite a while now, and there were no signs of....
In seconds he was dashing out the front doors of the hospital, a snap of his fingers revving the engine of his bike. He dropped his helmet somewhere in his run, and didn't go back to pick it up. Instead, he hopped on his bike and took off straight towards Rage, an odd grin on his face.

(Inside Rain's Mind, epilogue)
Being a spectre of sorts, the ghost of the prophet of the unspeakable god of darkness could not truly be killed. When he had realized that Owle was trying to kill him, rather than destroy him, he realized he had her fooled. All he had to do was repress his power and play 'dead', and she would leave, satisfied. Whatever she was, she was too dangerous to fight in a mindscape setting. He would have to take this outside.
A minute after Owle left, he would slowly climb to his feet. For being dead, those wounds certainly hurt like he was still alive. It was the first sensation he'd had in a long, long time. And he would make her pay for this. But not until after a little fun.
"Let's see what treasures she's left me here. There's all these snakes, of course. Now, where were they..." he muttered, pacing around the ruined library. On one of his paced steps, he nearly crushed what he was looking for. A severed wing. Or rather, a pair of wings. "Ah! That woman's carelessness will be her downfall, for sure."
He gathered them, every last feather, and reunited them with the pile of dead snakes. He looked over it, pleased with himself. "Parts of her body, and her spirit, made manifest here today. Transmute a body from those wings, fill it with her spirit, use some good old fashioned necromancy to fill in the gaps, and we'll be in business. Then, next time she bumps into goody two-shoes son-o-mine, she'll have quite the suprise waiting for her. Quite the suprise indeed."
Rather than a full-blown maniacal laugh, it was more like a sinister chuckle. He would begin to alter the room with his magic, the ruined library becoming akin to Dr. Frankenstein's laboratory. And this time, there would be no door.
To be continued...

As the two began to move away from the pole, a stiff sea breeze blew by. It was nothing to stunning, or no different in strength than the other breeze that blew in the moments that passed. The difference here was that as simply chance would have it this breeze blew with just the tiniest smidgen of difference in its angle.
It was enough however to slide a set of webbed hands from off of a wooden pole, and sending the creature falling face forward to the ground, which he struck head first with a loud echoing "DONG!". The clear tell-tale sound of metal banging against metal. The creature fell like a statue keeping the same shape and posture it previously had.
Asherah's eyes did not betray, far in the distance outside the dock, a bit farther in Latent there was an inn. Its character and quality were almost entirely hidden from this distance, but it was entirely open for both adventurers to trek towards.
But were they really going to leave the poor creature here? All alone? All night? In a town looking for a monster in the docks?
--- Darn.
Maximos said with a growing sly smirk.
That could have been fun.
He couldnt help but give Owle a wide mischievous grin. Oh the things he could have said, the things she could have "done" while she was away. Nothing to serious of course just enough to have a laugh or two. He stifled a small chuckle behind his hand. The hand afterward to reveal that signature Maximos smile Owle had seen during there encounter at HoH.
How was the fight? I see you've taken your share, I trust you've given it as well?

Tomorrow walked into the bustling hospital and looked about himself. The humans which scurried around desperately trying to save life brought a smile to his face - although they were the weakest, they tried the hardest.
Moving over to the front counter, John placed a metal hand on the desk, touching one of the phones surrupticiously. The nurse behind the counter looked up at him. "Yes? Can i help you?"
He did not answer immediantly. His finger touched the wire of the phone, which lead down into the wall to a powerpoint, which also had a lead into a computer full of hospital information. In less then a few seconds he had found the information he'd been looking for, and like a memory just remembered, stored it in his head.
"...No." He replied almost instantly, the blank look on his face suddenly replaced by a small smile. "I'm just lost. Elevators?"
"That way." She motioned with her pen, before resuming her paperwork.
John's smile was gone as he moved to the elevators and, without pressing a button, walked into the nearest open one and began to ride it up to Rain's floor, the elevator groaning slightly under his weight...

"Wait wait - what?" Owle exclaimed indignantly when Maximos mentioned 'fun.' Did he plan to get her all worried about what had happened when the snakes were in control? Even after...
...well, she'd never told him that story, had she? Owle sighed, and let it go.
"I lost some wings," Owle answered. "Don't think I'll be able to repair them. But...he's dead. The...well, the snakes told you there was an old man in Rain. He explained to me that he was a prophet to some forgotten god, and that he wanted to take over Rain's body to pretty much...kill stuff. He's sealed in Rain, but once Rain dies he'll be free to take over Rain's daughter...
"He's dead now, though. I left the barriers there, just in case, but I'm pretty sure he's gone."

"Wait wait - what?"
His grin only grew, spreading across his face in an almost chesire manner. He didnt words, his smile said it all. Though it faded to a slight grimace as she listed her battle damage, Maximos had never engaged in a spiritual or psychic battle so he had no real scale by which to judge what sort of "pain" she may have been in. But still, losing parts is never a pleasant thing.
Oh...
Maximos seemed caught off guard by that, he only knew of one forgotten god but Rain's powers didnt seem to match Nocturnes power set. This was something he would have to look in to, but as it stood it seemed Owle had tamed a threat from a god, against mortals. That was his job!
Excellent! I applaud you on your efficiency and skill. If theres anything I can do to ease your pain, do not hesitate to ask.
He paused for a moment, sliding his left arm beneath his right elbow and loosely gesturing toward Owle.
One thing nagged at the back of my mind though...how did you know Rain was in trouble? Did you see what happened to him?

He'd never expected someone else to try and help him solve his problems, then again, where he was going next, maybe it would be a good experience. Yeah, once he thought about it, Siat could meet some good people. "Well, I'm headed to Firebrand to ask a bit more about what actually happened to my wayward..." Sun thought about what Tijae might be to him and came up at crossroads. "Creation." It was the best way to put it really, but he hated that it came to all that. "I'd left her there, but I think I may have just tried Owle's patience a little too thin. Tijae's a big personality in a very small body." He held his hands out, demonstrating big, and then small.

Busting through the front door of the hospital rather unannounced, Rage passed up the elevators in favor of taking the stairs... but he didn't use it in the usual way. Instead of taking them step by step, he grabbed the railing, hoisted himself up, and started kicking from rail to rail, grabbing on to them as necessary to adjust his next leap.
Shortly thereafter he reached the floor he sensed Owle on, busting open the door. The maze of hallways and the natural energies that people gave off was overwhelming - he'd have to rely on trying to find her through more conventional means.
"OWLE!"
He shouted mentally, hoping that it would be enough to get her attention. He wasn't a psychic, but he sure could think loudly.
Okay... maybe not that conventional.

The creature clanked, and Asherah seemed to have noticed a hotel.
Well, I don't think its wise to leave the creature just sitting there. I mean, what if someone finds him? Besides, we need to get moving as soon as possible. I don't think we have time to dilly dally and get a hotel room. We must start looking for a boat as soon as possible.
Ryugi continued to scan for a tavern.

"..."
That was him.
Little Axel grew up - there was no mistaking those eyes. It was as if time slowed as he passed by the green-haired man making a mad dash for the hospital... he went by Rage now. The Firebrand, and now Owle.
He kicked his bike into a wheelie for a few seconds before making a sharp turn down a side street the second his front wheel touched the ground - he needed just a few more leads.
