Ace glared cautiously at the flare grunt. 'He looks so arrogant in that silly outfit,' she thought disturbingly. 'Ugh.'
The Grunt then threw out a Electrike into battle as well as a Scraggy. Ace bit her lip before letting out Audino and Skarmony.
"Anya, Take Down on that Electrike! Icarus, Steel wing on the scraggy!" Anya began to dash and tackled down her opponent, and thereby fainting it. The steel bird swooped down low enough-his wings shined brightly before cutting at the scraggy. The Grunt with a defeated look, recalled his pokemon before making his getaway.
"Not so confident now!" Ace smirked as she returned her pokemon.

One of the Grunts tossed a Pokeball, revealing a Toxicroak, "Cecil!" Allen called. The Toxicroak bounded forward, bringing a sucker punch across Cecil's jelly, "Psyshock!" Allen called. Deep telekenetic waves bounded out, hardening and bashing against the foe instantly KOing it. The Grunt returned his Pokemon and revealed a Houndour. "Come back Cecil, Dolstro, Water Shuriken!" The black Greninja's eyes glinted and it struck a pose, condensing water from the air into five extremely sharp stars. He moved lightning fast, snatching each one out of the air to zip them through the air to easily wipe out the small dog. The Grunt whimpered as he returned his Pokemon.

A Team Flare Grunt came over and challenged Yamato a battle. He sent out a Houndoom
"Come out, Koji"
The Machop emerged from his Pokéball. The Team Flare Grunt told his Pokémon to use Ember. The dog released several small fireballs at its opponent. However, an attack like that could not knock it out that easy.
"Koji, use Karate Chop"
The Machop stood back up and focused his power on his hand until it glowed. Then he rushed at the Houndoom and chopped down on its body. Being super effective against it and strengthen by the Black Belt around Koji's waist, the attack knocked out the Houndoom easily. The grunt returned his Pokémon and sent out his new one.
"Go, Electrike"
The Electric type Pokémon stood there with a glare. Yamato recalled Koji and sent out Kuma instead.
"Electrike, use Spark"
The Electrike focused its energy, then it was covered with electrical and slammed into the Cubchoo. The bear fell on his knee, being paralyzed
"Kuma, get up and use Ice Punch"
Despite being paralyzed, the Cubchoo managed to stand up, then used his punch, which had been covered with ice, and punched directly at the electric dog's face, knocking it out. The Grunt returned his Pokémon and ran away

Rose had her Meowth following her just before they were suddenly approached by a Team Flare Grunt and it appeared that he intended to battle, sending out a Litleo. Rose was going to send her Meowth to battle, but she seemed to have wandered off, so Rose acted fast and sent out her fletchling instead.
"Litleo, use Flamethrower" the Flare grunt ordered.
"Evade and use acrobatics" Rose ordered.
Her Gale Wing Fletchling was incredibly speedy, evading the flamethrower long enough to attack first for heavy damage, but then it was struck by the tail end of the flamethrower attack "Acrrobatics again" Rose ordered.
Fletchling struck aggain, and the second acrobatics attack made Litleo faint
Her opponent recalled Litleo and sent out his Sneasel.
"Fletchling, use Overheat" Rose ordered.
Fletchling attacked first, before Sneasel could, and the powerful fire attack made sneasel faint from that single attack. Her opponent recalled his Sneasel and sent out a Simisear.
"And now use Acrobatics again." Rose ordered.
"Flame Burst. Beat her good" the Flare Grunt ordered.
Simisear was still no match for Fletchling's speed with flying type moves, for Fletchling attacked first, before getting struck be a Powerful flame burst, which finally made Fletchling faint.
"Now attack her directly, Flame Burst/!" the Grunt ordered.
Rose eeped, she hadn't expected the trainer to turn his Pokemon on her before she could send out a second Pokemon. Rose dove to the ground, trying to make herself small in the hoprs that the attack would go over her head, but it didn't look like she was going to be that Lucky.
Her Meowth chose the right moment to return, droping an empty Pokeball it had picked up somewhere and getting in between the Flame Burst and Rose, taking the hit and saving her trainer from it.
"Meowth, use Pay Day." Rose ordered.
That Flame Burst looked like it had hurt Meowth a lot, but Rose decided she needed Meowth to buy her time while she sent out another Pokemon. S he thought about her Eevee, but decided against that, it didn't have the battle experience yet and she had a far better option. She sent out her Froakie while Meowth's Pay Day distracted Simisear. (PD +250)
With her Froakie out, Rose recalled Meowth and Fletchling back to their Pokeballs. "Froakie, use Hydro Pump!" Rose ordered.
"Seear?" Simisear was taken by surprise as it was pummeled by the powerful water attack, and it was made to faint.
"Damn you." The Flare grunt cursed, recalling Simisear and fleeing.
Rose casually picked up the dusty, but still functional, Pokeball that her Meowth her found.

Hecter looks around and wipes the sweat off of his head. He was glad all of the other grunts were super distracted as he clearly had just thrown the fight.
"Well great leader of Team Aqua, you have bested me!" He shouts as he pushes up on his triangle shades. "A stunning battle and an even more stunning loss!" He scratches his chin and grins as he watches his other team mates lose. "But be warned, we shall return even stronger next time!"
He then runs off with the rest of the Flare Grunts.

[Jeff and I battled through Showdown. Muffin and Frogadier fought and gained an evo point each.]
Maddy watched as Team Flare ran off. She turned to her companions and released her Alakazam.
"I guess we're done for tonight."
There was a flash and they were all back at the hotel.
"I'll have rewards posted soon!"
With that, Maddy was gone.

Cody leaned against the wall, watching everyone appear one by one into the lobby of the hotel.
"Job well done, everyone," he said with a smile. "What's everyone doing tonight?"

Maddy walked the front entrance of the hotel and looked up at the sky, taking in a big breath of fresh air and smiling, as always. It seemed the weather around these parts was always sunny, as she hadn't seen a single grey cloud in the sky since Team Aqua had taken up residence here.
Hands in her pockets and eye patch on, she turned and headed towards the beach. She figured a nice walk along it would do her some good. In her mind, she was considering options on where Team Aqua could settle next. Images of Team Flare kept popping up, no matter how hard she tried to ignore them. She stopped and looked out towards the ocean.
"We'll have to deal with them." She said to herself, the wind picking up and tossing her hair around.

Allen stretched his arms high, both of his arms, his back and his neck all popping at least once. He nearly fell over with all of his joints popping at the same time. "Oh man that felt good." He sighed and headed up onto the seaside deck. There weren't too many people around, to his surprise. He thought for a while before actually taking a seat on one of the plastic chairs the hotel had sitting on the deck. His mind drifted off to the book he had stashed away in his bag.

Maddy walked outside and onto the deck. She noticed Allen sitting down nearby and walked over to him, a smile on her face.
"Hey! Glad to see someone else is awake." She greeted him, grabbing a seat across from him.
She glanced out at the ocean as a breeze carried in some of the salty sea air.
"It's so nice out again today." She noted.

Allen chuckled as Maddy complemented the weather, "Yeah, it's about time for a rain storm though." He thought about it, "Yeah, normally this place is either all rain or all sun." And looked up to the nearly cloudless blue sky, "Luckily it's been all sun since we've arrived." He grinned.

Maddy leaned back, her hands behind her head.
"You know, I wouldn't mind if we got some rain. I get nervous when it doesn't rain for a while."
A waitress came by to see if they needed any refreshments. Maddy ordered her usual glass of lemonade.
"Kinda excited for the mission tonight. I've been contacted by Professor Sycamore, finally."

Allen's eyebrows went up, "Really?" He looked over a little menu for a moment before stopping to ask for a glass of lemonade as well and watched the waitress walk away, "Maybe I can finally get that book to him." He reached into his bag to pull out the book containing information on Mega Evolution. to stare at it's cover.

"I'm sure he'll really appreciate it." Maddy said as their drinks arrived.
She stifled a yawn.
"It sucks that we really need to move out of this hotel soon. I'm surprised we haven't been raided by Team Flare yet."
She casually sipped on her lemonade, trying to piece together her thoughts.
"As soon as I find their base, I think we should take them down."
