The Darth Vizzle Of course, they were entirely right to declare war on Antony. He was planning to essentially secede from the "Republic" and take over the east Mediterranean. So he needed an a**-whooping, they just had to get the proper information to prove his intent. Also, I still hold by my earlier statement. Cyrus v James = retarded, no winners, only varying degrees of losing. Whoever loses least gets to move ahead. That's just cruel, I'm actually trying to win, fair and square with SOME sense of literacy and actual martial arts, and this is my fate....

The Original King has spoken! But soon, his crown will be taken, and we will make way for another King. A King that technically hasn't been recognized by most of you. But soon, you will bow, and bow hard.

If either of you were actually doing that, the fight wouldn't be so piss-poor.
But anyone who can go and read the fight knows that this isn't actually the case.
As it is, the fight just serves of an example of what NOT to do. I'm glad I'm not a judge, because I would NOT want to have to wade through that shitstorm of a thread.

Alright, I got time to kill. I'm gonna make observations / judging / notes of that fight, to save the judges the time.
Can't be THAT bad.
.. right?

For Vizzle: Have you ever actually declared the recipe for what constitutes a 'good' fight in your opinion? I see a lot of criticism, but very little direction, which is annoying because it can't be built on.
So what does the world according to Darth look like where he reads something, and says... the Kool-aid man fist pump 'oh yeah!!"?

Did you actually read any of my posts? It takes two to tango dood, and this dood is making things rather difficult.
You'd experience the same thing if you fought me at my worst while you we're at you're prime. The fight would be 'piss poor' because the differance in thinking.
Of course I did screw up at first by making the lightning spear thingy when it wasn't possible, but thanks to the reset, I'm in the clear on that. Also, I was man handling even afterwards with no powers even during the screw up.

A good fight is when you can get through a post where it's primarily exposition/writing and not arguing, and when, instead of going "DERP NO" to every attack/defense, both players learn to offer some "give" and roll with what their opponent does.
Situations of "EXCEPT NOT REALLY BECAUSE THIS" should be rare in a fight, and never that big of a deal. Because, you know, the fighters should maintain OOC communication to clear up any problems to avoid those sort of situations where the posts break down into NO Uing each other.
There is some level of competition involved, but it should not overrule common sense, fair play, and portraying the character.
I could give examples of good fights that went well. I could also give more examples (sadly enough) of what to avoid.
