:3 You can change your first name(s) when you turn 18 or with your guardian's permission in Finland. On the other hand, you can change your last name by getting married (and if you do, after divorce you can change your last name back to whatever it was before) or with a good reason. ^ doesn't know what is qualified as a good reason. Maybe situations like when you have a name that has double meanings... I have read about a man whose last name was Närhi (=Jay, that bird you know) and his "friends" teased him always by saying that it's time to show some jay's eggs (it's an old saying here in Finland). So he got fed up with that and changed his last name.
