Yeah, the "God" of the Old Testament has been known to be much more angry, destructive, and unforgiving than that of the New Testament. (floods and whatnot?) :l Dunno why.
I thinkt it's because back then, God and the people had a more distinct agreement (aka the commandments, tha law and whatever we like to call it) so it was more clear when people chose to oppose God. Today, it's about believing in Jesus. If you're a christian, of course xD (which is easier than keeping commandments)
I heard someone talk about WHY God made it so hard to be on good terms with him in the old days, and the theory this person had was that God probably wanted to make it so hard that people just gave up and said "God, I AIN'T GONNA MAKE IT, HELP ME, AJ LAV JO!" so that he could prove that he loved them.
Well, I'd like to think it's that way too. But well, I live in this time so I'm fine with believing in Christ ^^
