Bakura glanced over at the priest. "He hasn't resisted at all. I never thought he'd be broken before I even started. This is sad. I can't wait until I can get the pharaoh." He sighed and headed over to the house, rather thirsty.

"I was about to do that myself, but I guess that's what a wife is for." Bakura said jokingly, going into the house. He frowned down at Mariku. "I still can't believe you got so queasy." Outside, Seto was pushing himself up. Yes, it hurt. It hurt so much. He had refused to let himself fight, because he knew he couldn't do anything. Not with those two big idiots around. They would stop him instantly. He had to give them the idea that he was harmless.

Seto struggled to his feet, and saw Rei, a short distance away. He couldn't have thought of a better opportunity if he tried. He was able to ignore the pain as best as he could, and made his way over to Rei. With a long, sharp blade he had picked up, he held it against Rei's throat, right behind her. "Try to move and I slit your throat." He whispered, his voice hoarse.

"I don't break as easily as Bakura thinks. Luckily he's been paying more attention to hurting me in small ways." Seto said, tugging on Rei a little. "Come on, to the house. I have something I'd like to say to Bakura."

[-shifty glance, not sure if you're getting back on-]
Seto was smarter than to actually go into the house. A far enough distance away, so that if either of the people inside chose to try and attack, he could kill Rei before they reached him. With as much strength as he could, Seto shouted out. "Bakura! I think I may have something to interest you!" Bakura thought he heard a voice, but it couldn't be... Could it? He got up, moving away from Mariku, and went to the door. He had to study what he saw for a few moments before it sunk in. Seto, that b*****d, had somehow gotten up and now had Rei. He ran forward a few steps before he saw the knife at her throat. He tensed, glaring. "What do you want?" He growled, knowing there had to be some kind of catch to this. "I just want to make you an offer." Seto said clearly, his grip around the handle of the knife tightening. Bakura would agree to this, he had to. "I won't kill Rei... won't even hurt her... if you help me." Bakura laughed, taken by surprise. "Help you? What would stop me from killing you as soon as Rei was out of danger? I would never help you, priest." Seto's gaze narrowed. "I want you to help me take down the pharaoh. What his ultimate fate is, I'll leave for you." He could see a thoughtful look on Bakura's face as this sunk in. "I will not be loyal to a man who acts so thoughtlessly. Think about it. I already have one Millennium Item, and plenty of inside information about the palace. If you continued to attack blindly as you have been, you would never get away with your life. I can help you." Bakura was clearly hesitant; yes, this was a good offer. But it was too good. "You expect me to believe you?" Bakura asked, laughing a little. "I just cut you to ribbons. Why would you want to work with me after that? How am I supposed to trust you? You were the pharaoh's loyal little buddy for as long as I can remember. What made you change so quickly?" Seto hesitated, then shook his head. "I can answer those, but not right now. Right now I want to know if you'll agree for us to join together to end the pharaoh. After that, we can talk like civilized people, hopefully." "Fine. I'll agree to listen to what you have to say. If you make a good enough argument, then I'll agree to help you. If not, I'm going to kill you. Now, unhand my wife." Bakura snapped, taking a few strides forward. Seto did so, letting the knife fall to the ground. He was too weak to support himself and fell over sideways. cringing as sand got into his cuts. Bakura winced in sympathy, but first went to Rei. He cupped her face in his hands. "Are you okay?"

"Good." Bakura said, kissing Rei lightly before turning to the priest. He bent down, looping the priest's arm over his shoulders and his arm around Seto's waist. He pulled the brunette up, wobbling slightly at the weight as Seto leaned completely on him, and then began to head for the house. "Can you get some water?" He asked Rei, looking over his shoulder. He intended to patch the priest up before listening to what he had to say. "I'll see if there's any alcohol to use."

Atem made his way to Nanu's room. He looked disheveled. It was night outside, and he had no idea what to do about Seto. He had gotten over his anger, and knew he would have to admit that he was wrong, and apologize. But how would he even talk to Seto? He would worry about that later. Right now he had to apologize to Nanu and Ayira. He knocked on Nanu's door, very hesitant. "Nanu? Can... May I come in?" Inside, Bakura had put Seto down on the floor, on a blanket. The priest was still conscious, but was making no noises. Bakura had sent Mariku off to gather supplies, and glanced up when Rei entered. "Thanks." He said, taking the bucket from her. He considered just splashing it down on the priest, but thought better. He knelt down, got a rag, and then began to wash the blood away, trying not to make it too painful. "So... tell me why you're so keen to take down the pharaoh, all of a sudden."

Atem opened the door, looking very guilty, like a dog who had been caught digging through the trash. "I'm... I'm very sorry about earlier..." Atem said softly, making his way over to the side of the bed. "I realize that I had been very, very wrong in what I said and did. I was angry, like you said, and wasn't thinking straight. I'm so sorry about getting irritated at you and not listening... I want to make up to you, Ayira, and Seto in any way that I can." Seto spoke, filling them in on what had been going on in the palace, starting with the arrival of Ayira. Bakura listened intently, stitching some of the deeper wounds. Mariku had found some alcohol and Bakura cleaned out all of the cuts, much to Seto's displeasure. The thief rolled his eyes when Seto got emotional, and prodded him painfully, telling him to get to the point. Soon Seto had finished, and Bakura chuckled. "You actually attacked him? Good for you." He said, patting Seto's head. He then looked to Rei. "Well, what do you think? Is it believable? Should we work with him?"
