As the Jewish say: Hag Erim Unaya
It's something like that, I don't know the spelling, I just heard it on TV. It means "Have a nice winter holiday".
I'm a polytheist, so I believe all the gods and goddesses of all the religions (That's a heck of a lot of deities!) exist. With the individuals in their own religion, they're only influenced by the god(s) within their own sphere. Like the Muslims would only be influenced by Allah and the Christians only influenced by God.

@DK, Sing, and everyone else: Don't make this harder for me. I'm leaving, and that's all there is to it. I'm just having a lot of trouble with my life and I need to make everything simple. If that means no Gaia or videogames or anything that makes my life hectic, so be it. I can't keep going the way I am now, or I'm going to burst.

I understand Cowpuppy, my life can get quite complicated too, but never to the point where I have to give up the simple joys in life such as chatting with friends on Gaia... it's sort of my sanctuary, it always makes me feel better. But that's just me.
If you feel you have to leave for the time being then do so, it's your decision. But you could try to peek in sometimes when you feel for it, okay?

... ...Great, that makes 2 now...
Its PuppyCowness, would you leave permanently? Like really permanent, Black "permanent" or only be on alot less often?... >__> Because there's a whole world of difference in "permanent" and "temporary"...
._.; I don't want to offend anyone, since I'm atheist... So I'll refrain from commenting on what everyone were discussing for the past few pages or so. ...But the only thing I find admirable in churches is the pretty glass windows and the solemn sound the organs make. sweatdrop I've stepped into a church... What, twice up to this day? ^__^; So I dun know much, and I've read too much Eddings novels to boot. He has such a mocking yet fun way to portrait religion and politics in hisbooks. I mean, religion was really taking advantage of the common citizen back in the Middle Ages... They persecute people just because some genius came up with some true scientific facts. But eh, we're the 21st century now, might as well put this all behind us...
o_o I'm starting to rant again. HALT! I'll stop typing now. ._.; ^__^;;;

I don't know if it will be permanent or not. I'll probably be off until my life gets back on track, and who knows how long that will take!

Destinykeeper Daru-chan is atheist.....Okay! I've read many science-fiction in which they make god some alien entity of ultimate energy.... I coulda swore I mentionned the fact that I was atheist some while ago and you were there... Eh, nevermind. ...How can you worship ultimate energy? The fact that it can annihilate anything? Is destruction what they're worshipping? Or is it just me who took a completely random example and developped the rest from there? >_>;; Ehe... ^^; @PuppyCowness: ...M'kay... Please tell us when you're sure then, I guess... Life sucking... This makes me think... ._.

There are many examples....
Star Dragon has dragons of fire that were created from higher beings for the purpose to survive.
The Engines of Light trilogy show the gods as asteroids that slammed themselves into Earth because the saurinas and another race were getting to noisy.... xp
Calculating God has an alien paleontologist working with an Earth one and three other planets to determine how mass-extinctions on the planets happened at the exact same time....
Factoring Humanity has the the "overmind" of the human race struggling with itself...

*struggles to understand what everybody is talking about*
Star Dragon? Engines of Light? What are they?
Worshipping ultimate energy? Nah, not me. Ultimate energy sounds really scary. Especially when so many humans would grab the ultimate power at a moment's notice... rolleyes

Ooh, I just found out something really interesting about Christmas. whee Turns out "Christmas" predates Jesus himself... the holiday we have with the merrymaking, the gifts, etc in December was actually a ROMAN holiday known as "Sol Invictus"- The Unconquered Sun. Well, the early Church conquered the sun alright. stare They stole the holiday and made it their very own and used Jesus's birth as an excuse... xd ... Poor non-Christians. sad The Church stole the holiday and made it Christian, so they couldn't have it... gonk http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sol_Invictus

Babbalui 1) Catholics are far more formal than christians. It would have been better to say Catholics and Protestants. xD Because then, I'd definitely have to agree. But of course, psycho-OCD-nutcase Cowpuppy had to flip out over a little mistake. =o I say we move the topic to something else. Yea... Your right... Crap! evil gonk

I've decorated our christmas tree with mom now^^ It was quite exciting actually, a lot more than I remember.
And you should see the pile of presents undernerneath it! eek You can't believe it's only going to be three people at home tomorrow, it's at least two or three times as many presents as I had expected since it's only mom, dad and me(and our stupid dog) that'll celebrate it here at home ninja But it's going to be fun 3nodding

Kyaro, finally, a Chritian whose annoyed that the Church stole the original idea of whatever holiday it was. I heard it was with Mithraism (sP?) that they stole it from because it was one of Christianity's main competitor at the time. scream

...I happen to be an atheist as well, so if you're going to kill me for knocking religion in any way, shape, or form, you'd better skip the next paragraph.
The way I see it, humans feel insignificant and lost because there are many things they don't have any control over. For example, hurricanes, floods, droughts, birthing, other people, etc. Also, they are insecure because none of us are given a purpose in life. No one said to us, "You're going to be born in order to do this, this, this, and the other thing, and when it's done, you'll come back here." This brings up the next point: life after death. Death is the main unknown and uncontrollable aspect of life. To deal with all of this, humans created the concept of an ultamite being, or several of them, which control those aspects of things that humans cannot control themselves.
This pretty much sums up how I feel about religion:
"Man made God in His own image."
