Yea, I saw that. They plan on actually agreeing on something by the middle of this coming week. But why has this been pushed off to the last minute? Literally... Wouldn't you think budget is the number 1 priority?

and what does out budget have to do with PRIVATELY funded abortion?

The reason they did not agree on a budget is the tea party wanted to cut a TON of funding out of Planned Parenthood, ignoring all the good things like cancer screening, birth control, woman's counseling, and care, BECAUSE, Planned parenthood allows for Privately Funded Abortions. i've used planned parenthood for YEARS, when i had No health insurance, and i was never pushed for a abortion or anything -.- plus most of ther services are FREE, becuase of funding from the gov't. However abortions ARE NOT funded by the gov't
In short, the tea party decided to make a MORAL issue, a Religious issue, part of the BUDGET.......... and refused to give an inch. the fact is with our economy, we NEED planned parenthood.

I've never even heard of Planned Parenthood. But yesterday I saw a quick article that one rep said the reason we're havin gthis issue is because the government doesn't want to fund cancer patients. I would imagine this is similar to what you're saying.

Isn't the government supposed to keep religion and politics seperate??? I used to think so, but now, who knows...

certain parties are trying to force this country to become a completely christian nation. There is no more separation between church and state.

How can someone do that? The reason the U.S. was founded was for Europeans to escape religious prosecution...

Because it is the thought process.... take a long look at our policies, and politicians, how many get elected by the " religious Right" Christians.....it's a type of manifest destiny, Remember, if the Christians don't do this, all us sinners ( me and my family) will go to hell forever.....it's the "right" thing to do.

When PA had Rendell for a governor this kind of thing happened every year. Politicians are stupid sometimes.

And I think it was more than just the Planned Parenthood issue that caused this because the Republicans actually want to make a lot of cuts not just PP to try and get the budget back on track before we go further in debt. A lot of the cuts they want to make are considered too extreme by the Democratic party. So it is really an issue on both sides. I do think that some of the cuts should be made but not all of them.

I personally think that the official religion of politics should be Buddhism--because you can be a Buddhist, a Christian Buddhist, a Catholic Buddhist, a Muslim Buddhist, a Hindu Buddhist, a Taoist Buddhist, a Wiccan Buddhist, or any other variety. Since Buddha was never a god, adopting a Buddhist-aligned policy is not eclipsing anyone's right to worship. At it's core, Buddhism strives to prevent suffering, which is what a government should do for its people. Seems like a logical match to me, and I have yet to read any teaching of Buddha that contradicts popular Christian views, as well as my own specific First-Century Christian views.

I am Christian, to such an extreme extent that people have called my church a "cult" before. (We don't drink koolaid, but the wine is excellent!) I never understood the mass-force-conversion theology. Doesn't Jesus Himself say "None can come to me unless the Father draws him?" Isn't that a pretty obvious statement that God is the only one who can really convert people, and if He doesn't then all human efforts are just forcing lip service which all is false worship and taking God's name in vain?--WHICH IS SPECIFICALLY CATALOGED AS A SIN!!!--So...in my mind, forcing a conversion on any level is not only sinning on behalf of the over-zealous Christian because it's taking the God-role away from God and putting it on themselves, but also puts the convertee in a very BAD spiritual position with The Big Guy as well. It's just a disservice all around.

*rolls eyes* I just don't understand the thought process of some people... Mainly Christians like that.

I am really amazed that the Republican party is the one considering all of these cuts. It seems very out of character for them. And I'm surprised the Democrats are objecting. I think there should be a bunch of cuts, but not to military or education. I mean, they are two of the most important careers in the U.S. but with all the cuts they will not be able to provide for their family with just one job... Manny teachers already have two or more jobs. And military wives and husbands work too...

Yeah... politics and religion. rolleyes Mom works for the Census Bureau so I get to hear about the politics, and normally I'm not bothered, but things are starting to get to me now that I haven't been debating. LOL

Anyway... I've lost 20 pounds, and my weight has stopped dropping so fast, but my body is beginning to tone up now. I am actually beginning to see a waistline again, and most of the cellulite that was on the back of my legs is gone! xd I am sticking to my diet more fanatically than any tea-party right-winger to their 'down with Obama' sign, and I have learned that I can make my tongue tolerate the taste of seafood, and actually get used to and like some of it. 3nodding

I suppose I'll come clean and say that I was 280 when I started all of this, and I am hanging out at 260 now. I have made it back to a size 18 pant from a size 20 that should have been a 22. My perfect weight is between 175 to 195 pounds, and as I keep going, I don't think another 70 pounds is going to be so hard to drop...

So anyway...

Toshiba Satellites are great... my brother has had his for 9 years, and he's upgraded it as far as he can, and it was affordable to upgrade. He is planning on getting another as soon as he can afford to...

I'm voting for Trump next election, because maybe he can do to America's budget what he has done to his own... LOL

...and lastly... my husband bought me a new cell phone, and I love it... HTC's rock!
PostPosted: Mon Apr 11, 2011 7:34 am

You don't like seafood! *gasp* XD I love seafood and I'm so pissed that I always seem to get pregnant in the winter therefore I can't eat good seafood when it comes in to season... Grr winter blues...

I'm decided on the Toshiba =^_^=

And I definitely think Trump will be able to get our budget fixed. If there's anyone who can handle money, it's Trump. I love when people bring up the fact that he claimed bankruptcy three times, but you do not actually have to be broke to claim it. He was using the system.

I have an LG Alley run by Android, but it has the HTC layout. I'm not sure how I like the HTC layout, but I love Android's.

Yeah, my phone is an Android. I am liking it allot compared to my old Windows Blackberry. I haven't done any customization yet, but I will probably spend some time doing that today, since I am stuck at home for the day.

I am really getting used to getting out of the house again, and it's wonderful! It makes being home seem like torture. You can only clean so much.

I think I will be raiding closets for things to get rid of today. We are thinking of listing the house, and if we do, I want to take the least amount of crap with us that we can, if we make a move.
