Ooh... .hackdom.

I'd be making posts here and in PoC (even though I'm just a plot device there), but I'm saving my long-windedness for the horrifyingly long writeups I'm going to need to do in the next few days... Thread descriptions, areas, maps, inhabbitants, things like that. ><

By the way Degs, we don't know the room number yet...but you should be able to ask for Cynthia Harley at the front desk or Josh and I could just give you our cell phone numbers....though Josh has his with him more than Ihave mine with me. sweatdrop

Actually, I'm doing it because nobody else is willing to, and I want to see a good job done of it...

...which seems to be why I tend to try to do everything... because nobody else does. ><

Let's see if I can just sum up a little psycho-analysis here.

Josh, you are, what is called by the commonfolk, "The Man." It's also sometimes called "The Dude," "That Really Cool Guy," or even sometimes "Eduardo," but that one isn't used as often.

When you hold this title, you've got your perks; however, it's got its own downsides, as well.

When considered to be "The Man" you're respected, relatively popular, and considered to be well-skilled in at least one area of expertise. This is where the trouble starts to brew...

You're area of expertise then becomes, to others who may not know you as well, your "thing." And because you're so damn good at this "thing" that you do, everyone around you expect nothing but the best. When it's an individual thing, this is just fine, but when it becomes a group effort, well, the group then become you and everyone else in the said group suddenly grow quite lazy.

"Aw, he can do it: he's the man! He's worth like ten of us. Now where's my frisbee?"

Granted, that last part of the quote is only once in a while, but you get the idea here.

This all comes from my own experiences as "The Man" back in the high school Fine Arts department, as well as the English and Math departments, where I spent the majority of my time when I wasn't in a play, a musical, or band or choir practice. Well, there and the Science department, but the majority of the people that were in my classes carried their own weight just fine.
