Riza just rolled her eyes and followed after the red head, not really in the mood for dumb boy behavior at the moment. She stepped outside into the cool night air and shivered a little, realizing she'd forgotten to pick up a wrap to go with her dress. Her shoes clicked noisily on the pavement as she walked behind Keegan, not knowing where he was going though she was sure she knew the reason why he'd wanted to go outside. She watched him light up his cigarette with disdain but refrained from scolding him for it. She sighed and took a standing position so that the smoke wouldn't get in her face. "Maybe you are an idiot," she said finally, watching a young couple walking away from the gala, hand in hand. "But I can't really give you an honest opinion because you won't tell me what's going on." Her voice was flat, almost tired. By this point she had decided that if he didn't fess up and tell her what was going on then she was just going to walk away and let him deal with his problems on his own, since he didn't seem to want the help anyway. 'I'll just get someone else to help me find a Cyndaquil,' she thought, waiting for him to respond, if he even planned on it.

Luffy's hand tails were bleeding as he struggled to hold onto the thrashing Gyarados. Still despite the pain in his hands Luffy was having the time of his life trying to ride down the wild pokemon like some sort of cowboy. When the Gyarados preformed its way cool looking Aqua Tail attack, which managed to do a decent amount of damage to him in the process Luffy just thought it was the coolest thing he had seen all day, and he had seen some cool things. Laughing he grabbed onto one of the spikes with his paw and reaching down with his tail he splashed the water back up into the Gyarados's eyes with his own Aqua Tail. Ok so it was more of a splash attack then an Aqua Tail but still.
On her little stand Robin could only watch with a frown on her face. "Oh come on Luffy stop splashing around! We are in an actual battle. We can play around later all right?" Sometimes Luffy drove her mad, like the times when he decided that he didn't really want to battle and just have fun. Looking out at him Robin couldn't stay to mad at him, he was having fun and in the end that was more important then winning.
~~~~~~~
Well now that he had what he came to the gala for Dante didn't have to much to here, Mitsu and Kilik had both wondered off and Dante didn't really feel like following them to much. Looking down at his only remaining companion with him he gave Hera a small smile before reaching out to her and patting her on her horn. "How about we go look at the exhibits? Maybe there will be another Heracross around for you to make friends with."
Hera had followed her trainer around the hall obediently but she had been afraid for a moment that she was going to be forgotten. However when her trainer said those words to her she immediately perked up and nodded enthusiastically. She would very much like to look around this interesting place full of interesting things.
Chuckling lightly at her enthusiasm Dante nodded and looked around till he found a booth that both of them might like. "All right then this one looks pretty good."
Kasiya only nodded at Mitsu's first statement, knowing full well that she was right. Bad days happened, and quite often bad days were followed by days that were even worse. She glanced up at her purple-haired friend, and smiled weakly, though she didn't say anything right away. In all honesty Kasiya didn't know where to begin, as by this point she wasn't even sure who was at fault for her and Keegan's broken relationship anymore. Nova wriggled free from her trainer's arms, curious about the new person that had joined them. The young Charmander didn't like the fact that her mama was upset, and she eyed Mitsu carefully through wide, green, questioning eyes.
Kasiya had to admit that she was quite proud of herself for not crying right now, though she suspected that at the moment she was far too angry for tears. Toying with the strings of her apron, she stared at the ground, trying to formulate her thoughts. "I just don't know how to get through to him," she said finally, her voice filled with defeat. "It seems like whenever I make a little bit of progress, something happens and we always get set back at square one. I don't know what to do anymore!" Her voice rose several octaves at the end of her sentence and she kicked the ground a little. "I want to try talking to him again, but he won't listen to me. He's so thick-headed and stubborn..." She sighed and closed her eyes. I should just give up, she thought. Trying to reason with him is like trying to reason with a Magikarp - only the Magikarp wouldn't be as infuriating!
=-=-=-=-= "Hah! We've got 'em running scared, Luxio!" Lilah chuckled, watching as the Monferno kept it's distance from her Electric-type. "Chase it down and use Spark when you can!" The lavender-haired girl continued to enjoy the match, though at this point she really wasn't sure which of them would come out of it victorious.
The Spark Pokemon let out a sharp growl and dashed forward, electricity sparking all over it's body as it ran towards the Monferno, eyes narrowed with determination.
=-=-=-=-= Upon expressing her doubts, Callum's expression changed to one of almost hurt, and he shrugged, kneeling down to pat the younger Growlithe on the head. "Why of course," he said, grinning up at the girl. "Why would I offer a trade if I didn't mean it?" He stood up and recalled the Pokemon, turning back in the direction of town. "I'm heading back to Pewter," he told her, giving a slight bow. "If you're still interested in making the trade, please accompany me to the Pokemon Center so we can make it official," he said, snapping his fingers once. The gesture was enough for his loyal Growlithe to bark sharply and trot after him, occasionally looking back over his shoulder at the Pikachu - the mouse had been awfully interesting!
Mitsu looked at the little Charmander who was just a bit smaller than average, perhaps she was recently hatched Mitsu thought idly. She smiled at the Fire Pokemon, hoping that it wouldn't take offense to her presence. She didn't want the little one to be upset with her when she was just trying to help her friend.
Though Kasiya had not mentioned his name Mitsu was sure that she was talking about Keegan. Their messy break-up at Slateport yesterday must have been something that was very, very horrible to deal with. In all honesty she didn't really know what to say, especially since she'd never been in a relationship herself. She was quiet for a moment, trying to think of something appropriate to say. "If there's anyone who can get through to him, it's you Kassie," she began slowly, choosing her words carefully. She'd seen them completely happy together and she knew that the blond was a determined and kindhearted girl. It would be tough for her not to get through to anyone, she just had an aura about her that felt welcoming. "Whether that's beating up Team Rocket or talking to a stupid boy," Mitsu started again, giving her friend a quiet and almost shy smile, "I know you can do anything."
Train returned the grin, glancing at the young Growlithe again as Callum withdrew him. "Of course!" Train said happily, bending down to scoop up her Pikachu, then turned to follow the green-haired trainer. The electric mouse wriggled free of her grasp, though, and climbed up to her shoulder only to hop down and walk beside the Growlithe that was still out.
Train was glad that she'd decided to stick close to Pewter, as that meant it wouldn't be a far walk at all the get back to the Pokèmon Center. She glanced up for a second, biting the inside of her cheek as she tried to think of something to talk about. Even if it was a short walk, she still didn't want it to just be in silence, 'cause silence could get pretty awkward pretty fast. "Soo..." Train said, moving her gaze to the ground before finally thinking of something and glancing over at Callum. "How long've you been a trainer for?" She asked.
Meanwhile, Pikachu was busy trying to learn more about this new Pokèmon beside him. He'd never seen one before, and was awfull curious about the other trainer's companion. "Pika pi?" He asked, wondering what type the Growlithe was, though he was pretty sure he could guess from the way the it looked.
'If this is the way things are going to be the entire time I'm out training my pokemon then I'm going to do my very best not to talk to anyone.' Sere thought. As soon as the thought it she knew it wasn't true. Things had just been especially bad since the attack in Slateport yesterday. Everyone was on edge. Even the party seemed to have a different air about it. She wondered just how many of the people here were hoping that a party would take their mind off things.
As soon as she hit the night air Sere thought that she was going to cry. The cool air made her feel as though everything had just come resting down upon her. It was the thought of all the eyeliner and mascara her sister had put on her face that made her stop. She would look a raccoony mess if she started crying now.
Serenity started towards home. As she came around the corner, she saw Kasiya sitting with the little charmander that had hatched yesterday. Sere thought about going over to see if she was okay, but realized that a purple haired girl was already there doing just that. 'I wonder if she'll take me up on my offer for breakfast tomorrow. She already seems to have enough friends.'****** Sweetness was quite proud of her self when the attack landed on the Shinx, but her mood quickly soured when she realized it didn't even seem to phase the electric kitten. The Budew turned to her trainer as if to blame the girl for the attack not landing, when the Shinx took the oportunity to tackle the plant from behind.
Isabelle watched the whole thing play out and could only slap her forehead. 'These pokemon of mine have more attitude than brains.' She sighed. "Sweetness get up and use your absorb." She said to the plant pokemon. To her delight the pokemon didn't even seem to put up much of a fuss about this order.
Sweetness got right back to her feet and squared off against the kitten. The Shinx gave a small twitch and went charging at the budew once again. This time Sweetness was far more prepaired for the attack. She waited until just the right moment then turned to her right, letting the Shinx charge right by her. When the kitten turned back around to look at it's opponent, Sweetness could only giggle at how confused it looked. She took only a second to focus her self, and let out a burst of green energy from every pore she had. Sending it right in the direction of the Shinx. She could tell it had hit it's mark when the energy that made it's way back to her was a slight purple colour.
Leon continued to make his way to Petalburgh, making some pretty good progress since he didn't really have to stop for Pokèmon battles. Every once in a while a wild Pokèmon, thinking it was all big and tough, would come out and try to attack Muuma. An Astonish or a Psywave took care of those quickly enough, though, and within a moment or so he was right back to walking, having hardly even noticed the distraction. Although they were getting awfull annoying.
When he could finally see Petalburgh in the distance, Leon phone began to ring. He flipped open the phone when he saw who it was and said, Hi, mom."
'Hi sweetie!' Came the response on the other end, to which he rolled his eyes. 'Oh, it's been so long since we've seen you!'
"...it's been a day." He said bluntly.
'Well it feels like longer to a mother!' Lily snapped. 'Anyway, there's a beautiful little party going on down here, and I'd love for you to come pay us a visit and attend! Your father and I are already all dressed up, and we rented a tux for you, too!'
"No." Leon replied flatly, an annoyed look already crossing his face, even though his mom couldn't see it.
'I won't take no for an answer! I'm having Banana fly me over right now, so where are you?
"I'm near Petalburgh. I just want to tra--"
'No arguing! I'll be there in a jiffy!~" There was a beep as the call was ended. Leon sighed and snapped the phone shut, putting it away before finding a nice tree to lean against while he waited for his crazy mother to come pick him up.
Needless to say, Luffy's 'Splash' attack didn't really do much other than annoy the Gyarados, and it growled menacingly, though by this point the dragon already knew it wouldn't affect the Ambipom. Misty also wasn't sure what to make of the loopy Pokemon and she shrugged. "Try to shake him off, Gyarados! Use your Ice Fang attack!"
The water serpent roared fiercely and swung his massive head towards the Ambipom, an icy chill filling the air as the Atrocious Pokemon lunged, eager to take a frigid bite out of the Ambipom.
=-=-=-=-= Jaeshan's pace was fairly quick as he and Metang navigated their way out of the cavern, both wincing somewhat when they stepped into the bright sunshine. Jaeshan recalled the Steel and Psychic-type as he made his way back to the Pokemon Center, which turned out to be easier than finding Granite Cave in the first place. He stepped through the sliding doors and walked up to the counter before handing over the Pokeball and Great Ball that contained Metang and the newly caught Abra to the nurse, who raised an eyebrow as the young man was there yet again. Jaeshan just chuckled lightly and shrugged before heading over the vending machine to get himself something to drink.
After finally settling on a flavoured water he pulled his PokeDex out of his pocket and wandered over to one of the seats. He knew Abra evolved into Kadabra, but until then, and unless you taught them a TM move, the only attack in their repertoire was Teleport. Training it could be tricky, the blonde thought, suddenly wondering what had sparked him to capture the Psi Pokemon in the first place. He didn't get to dwell on the thought long as soon his Pokemon were healed and he had to retrieve them. Returning to his seat Jaeshan clipped Metang's Pokeball onto his belt as he sat down, now turning the Great Ball over in his hands as he thought about what to do now. It was about now that three boys entered the Pokemon Center, talking excitedly among themselves. Jaeshan almost didn't pay them any attention until he heard one of them, the apparent 'leader' of the group, speak up. "Hey Liam, have any luck with that Abra yet?" surprisingly his tone wasn't mocking or rude, like Jaeshan would have expected from typical boys his age, instead it sounded more like he was genuinely concerned.
"No, not yet," the smallest boy, obviously Liam, replied somewhat sullenly. The three of them made their way across the room and lined up to give the nurse their Pokemon for treatment. The three of them sat down on a couch, still chatting among themselves. It seemed that each of them were fairly new to being trainers and were getting on with it quite well, though they'd been on Dewford Island for a while now as they waited for Liam to finally capture his long-awaited Abra. One of the boys got up to use the restroom while the other went off to do something else, leaving Liam sitting across from Jaeshan, who was still holding tightly to the blue and red ball that contained his Abra.
Though she hadn't expected it, Mitsu's words were not only calming, but they also broke through the veil of hopelessness that had shrouded Kasiya's mind. She sat up a little straighter and combed her fingers through her bangs, wincing a little when she brushed up against the wound on her forehead she'd received courtesy of Mai introducing her face to the concrete. Damn, you Mai, she thought angrily. You'll pay for that one, too! She stood up now, checking the time on her PokeNav - she had only a few minutes left before her break was over.
Nova had continued to stare up at Mitsu even as she spoke, and though she really didn't understand the actual words that were being said, Mitsu's actions and tones were enough to help the young Charmander understand that she was a friend. Now bearing a toothy grin the little lizard waddled over to Mitsu's side and patted her knee in an approving manner. Nova's actions, it seemed, would always manage to make Kasiya smile and she giggled a little, walking towards her Pokemon and scooping the little firebrand up into her arms. "Nova, this is Mitsu," she explained, gesturing to the purple-haired girl. "She's a really good friend of mine. Mitsu, meet Nitro's baby sister, Nova."
A happy squeal escaped the Charmander and for a moment her tail seemed to flicker a little brighter, and out of the corner of her eye Kasiya caught a glimpse of someone peeking around the corner. Oh, Serenity! she thought, suddenly realizing how stupid she must have looked in front of everyone back there and her cheeks reddened, rivaling those of a Pikachu. Still holding Nova tightly in her arms she made her way towards Serenity and offered her a sheepish smile. "I really am sorry about earlier," she said again, though she was sure it wasn't enough. "Things are really messed up right now," she went on, now looking back and forth between both Mitsu and Sere. She snuggled Nova close and planted a kiss on the Charmander's head, and turned to head back inside the Contest Hall, stopping in the doorway. "Things are messed up right now," she repeated, a determined and almost impish grin set on her face, "but I promise this - I will make things right again. Everything." Then, giving her two friends one last smile she headed back inside to resume her shift.
=-=-=-=-= It took only about thirty seconds for Jaeshan to catch Liam's attention, and soon the youth was eying the Great Ball curiously. Jaeshan swore he could see the wheels in the kid's head turning as he tried to guess what could be held inside. Jaeshan rolled the sphere along his fingers, smiling a bit. Without waiting to be asked, he let the ball come to a standstill and he held it out towards the boy. "It's an Abra," he said matter-of-factly.
The boy only stared at the ball for a moment before the envious glint appeared in his eyes and he turned away. "Rub it in, why don't you," he mumbled, though his face flushed a little when he realized he was being rude. "Sorry, I've just not had any luck catching one of those."
"So I've heard," Jaeshan nodded, leaning forward a bit. "To be honest I'm not even sure why I caught this little guy." He paused, and studied the kid for a moment. "You think you could do a good job of raising him?"
"Could I?" the boy cried enthusiastically, jumping up, but he stopped himself. "But," he mumbled, "you can't just give it to me..." he trailed off, undoubtedly trying to think of some way to make this work. "We could trade Pokemon! But... all I've got is my Bulbasaur and a Weedle I caught in the Viridian Forest before me and my friends came over here to Hoenn, and I'd never trade away my Bulby for any Pokemon, and who'd trade an Abra for a dinky little Weedle?"
Jaeshan merely smiled. "I would."
=-=-=-=-= "Hmm? Oh, I've been a trainer for nearly a year now, but..." Callum trailed off, glancing over at Train, "I haven't really done much. Sure, I've caught some Pokemon, battled with them and trained with them, but we haven't really set any goals as of yet." He stopped, now studying the Pikachu that trotted alongside his faithful Growlithe. "Your Pikachu looks quite healthy. Have you two been together long?" he asked, Pewter City quickly unfolding before them. "And other than two Rattata, obviously, what other Pokemon have you captured?"
Mitsu smiled gently, returning the favor by patting the Charmander on the head. She looked like such a sweetie. "Nice to meet you Nova," she said as Kasiya decided to introduce them. Nitro's baby sister, eh? How cute, she'd really have to tell Karri about it later. After all Karri and Nitro were best friends.
She looked as Kasiya walked back into the hall, that determined grin plastered on her face just as she remembered it. Now that's that Kassie I know! she thought to herself, another small smile appearing on her lips. She let out a big sigh of relief as the older girl disappeared back into the Gala. She had really doubted herself back there and she didn't know if her words really would have made any difference. But she was sure glad that they did, or at least she thought they did.
She spotted another girl with whom Kasiya seemed to know. She had so many friends. "Hi there," she said with a shy smile, "I was worried I had said the wrong words there. I'm glad she seems better." Mitsu laughed a bit nervously, feeling as if she was rambling. It seemed that she was from the gala as well. "Leaving already?" she asked.
Train marveled at his response. No wonder his Growlithe was so tough-looking, and had such an undevoted loyalty to his trainer. She glanced back at the fire-type and electric mouse, her gaze landing proudly on her Pikachu at Callum's comment. "I'm not entirely sure. You lose track of the date out here," She responded with a sheepish laugh, shoving her hands into the pockets of her grayish-black jeans. I can garuntee you it hasn't been nearly as long as you, though." She added, at least knowing that much. Callum seemed like a pretty strong trainer, too, if the rest of his Pokèmon were like his Growlithe. She could tell that it was probably way stronger than any of her's, and that only made her admire both the Trainer and his Pokèmon. Plus, now she was especially looking forward to raising a Growlithe of her own. She hoped she could raise it to be as loyal and powerful looking as Callum's.
"Well," Train began in response to his second question. "Besides those three, I've also managed to get my hands on an Oddish. She'll be really useful when I challenge Brock, but that's only if she'll actually fight. The poor thing's got a scar on her, so I guess she ran away from an abusive trainer..." She trailed off, letting out a sigh and dejectedly kicking a rock on the path, unable to understand how any trainer could intentionally cause harm to their own Pokèmon--to any Pokèmon.
Serenity nodded at Kasiya's words, as the girl disapeared back into the gala. She had to admit that she did look a little calmer then she had before. Though the promise to make things right again sounded a little foreboding. A sadness ran through her as she realized that Kasiya couldn't really make everything right again. At least not for her. Sere gave a quick glance at the scar that wrapped around her wrist.
It wasn't until the girl with purple hair started talking that Sere even remembered that she was there. "Hi." Sere said softly. "It does seem you did well. She seems much calmer now." She nodded.
"I'm Serenity by the way. And yes I am leaving now." She sighed. "There are too many people for me to handle. Too many people still so very afftected by yesterday."
"Oh dear," Bill exclaimed as the pokemon barreled and tumbled down the stairs. Moving to the edge.
Calculus did the same. The digital pokemon quirking its head 180 degrees. "Ry?"
Venerax turned back as well and moved over to the fallen pokemon. "I know I'm interesting and all, but you should really watch were you going."
He crouched down to the strange pokemon. He hadn't seen a pokemon like it before himself. "Are you alright?"
Bill smiled at Karrigan and laid a hand on her shoulder. "It's alright Karrigan. It is the differences we find in each pokemon even those of similar types that make the study of pokemon interesting and never ending." His soft voice reaching a strange point of elation at the end. "So there is no need to be embarrassed. I have found in my research that electric pokemon like your shinx are rarely docile in nature. I beleive it has much to do with the large amounts of voltage that is contained with in them that make many restless."
He went down the stairs. "But come, best to make sure it did not gain any injuries from its hasty actions."
Calculus slid down the steps in pursuit.
Liam raised an eyebrow and folded his arms, giving Jaeshan a very skeptical look. "Yeah, right," he said, shaking his head. "Either you're crazy, or that's not an Abra in there," he added, pointing at the Great Ball.
Jaeshan only continued to smile as he stood up as well, dwarfing the youth by several feet. He tapped the button on the Great Ball once and it clicked open, revealing the newly captured Abra in a flash of white light. Though wide awake, the Psychic-type's eyes were still closed though it appeared to be 'looking' around the center curiously. "Happy now?" he asked, in response to the widening of Liam's eyes at the sight of the Psi Pokemon. "I'm not joking, or teasing you. If you would like to trade your Weedle for this Abra, I really wouldn't mind at all. I already have a Butterfree, so it seems natural that one would have a Beedrill to go along with it," he added. He really didn't mind making such a lopsided trade, mainly because it would make the boy happy and because he'd nearly captured a Weedle back when he first caught Butterfree - then a tiny Caterpie - back in the Viridian Forest.
"You're really serious," Liam stated, reaching into his pocket and taking out the Pokeball that held his Weedle. He'd not really trained with the Hairy Bug Pokemon at all since capturing it, so maybe it would be better off with this older guy here. "Okay, fine. If you really want to, then I guess it's okay." The boy's smile was impossible to conceal as he practically raced across the floor of the Pokemon Center and over to the trade machine.
Jaeshan quietly followed after returning the Abra to it's ball, stopping in front of the high-tech machine. Wordlessly he set the Great Ball on the tray and looked towards the boy, who did the same with his Pokeball. "Care to do the honours?" he asked, nodding towards the lever.
"Yes sir," Liam laughed, quickly pulling it down, and the machine whirred to life. Simultaneously both spheres were zapped up into the machine, and on screen the images of an Abra and Weedle were displayed, as well as some basic info about each Pokemon, such as their trainer ID numbers and such. The two Pokemon changed places on screen and a second or so later the Great Ball and Pokeball landed on the opposite tray from which they started, and both trainers picked up their new Pokemon. "I don't know what to say," Liam said, looking a little choked up. "Thank you so much!"
"No problem," Jaeshan said. "Just promise that you'll take good care of that Abra," he went on, clipping the Weedle's Pokeball to his belt. "And I will do the same for this Weedle." The boy thanked him again and ran off to rejoin his friends, holding up the Great Ball for all of them to see. Okay, that was unexpected, but that kid sure is happy, Jaeshan thought. Now, I need to figure out where I'm going next...
=-=-=-=-= "It's true, you do lose track of time," Callum nodded, though his Pokemon probably weren't as strong as Train was giving them credit for. "But that's what makes it so much fun, I think anyway." By now the two of them had entered Pewter City and were making their way towards the Pokemon Center. "Yes, an Oddish would be quite the valuable asset while battling in the Pewter Gym," he nodded, glancing back down at the Pikachu. "Seeing as Brock's Rock-type Pokemon will be a difficult challenge for your Pikachu, Rattata, and your new Growlithe," he added. "I'm sure with time she will come to realize that you mean her no harm and she will open her heart to you, though until then you must be patient with her." The arrived at the red-roofed building shortly after that, and they went inside. The Pokemon Center was fairly quiet with only a few young trainers milling about. "Would you like to get your Pokemon healed first, or would you rather make the trade first? I am in no hurry, so please do as you wish."
Growlithe, while having not strayed far from Callum's side kept rather close to the Pikachu. There was something about the way the air around the mouse smelled that he liked, and he quietly hoped that some day his master would add a Pokemon of the electric variety to their party.
Keegan didn't look up as Riza spoke to him, and as much as he didn't want to admit it he knew she was right. Maybe talking would be helpful. At the very least, perhaps Riza would know what he should do to get past this whole awkward post-breakup crap. "There's not a lot to it really," he said, puffing away at his cigarette though he wasn't sure he wanted it anymore. "I thought there was something there, and there really wasn't. My fault for not figuring it out sooner."
He dropped the butt of his finished cigarette into the gutter and crushed it with his heel before standing up. He noticed that Riza seemed to be shivering and without hesitation he removed his jacket and handed it to her. "Should we go back inside? This is a party after all and we should be having fun." ===== If I remember correctly, there's supposed to be a ranch where they farm Miltank somewhere nearby, Miharu thought as they walked, though she'd folded up her bike after only a few minutes as walking it had been a pain. Sure enough, they soon came upon a large chunk of farmland, it's territory marked off by a barbed-wire fence. The sounds of mooing could be heard as well and just as Miharu had suspected, there were dozens of Miltank roaming the grasslands, grazing, playing or just sleeping. They all seemed quite happy. "They produce Moo Moo Milk here," Miharu said. "Apparently if you drink Miltank milk while you're young it helps you to grow strong and healthy." In honestly Miharu didn't know if the statement was true or not, as she hated milk and refused to drink it.
Olivine City was south of the ranch, and somewhat downhill as from there Miharu could see the ocean sprawling out from the port town, as well as the massive lighthouse that rose up out of the city.
