Skye grinned and nodded. "Good!" she agreed, holding up another piece. She pointed at Lore's own plate and asked, "Lore's good, too?"
Her wings fluttered a bit - the food was already making her feel much more awake.

Lore nodded as he finished up his breakfast, "Very good," he replied with a smile, "I'm glad you like it."

Skye grinned, but kept eating her breakfast. Soon, there was none left, and her stomach was good and full.
She jumped off her chair and looked around, and a puzzled expression grew across her face.
"Lore," she said, sounding confused, "where Skye wash hands?"

Yuki thumbed the sink that was behind him, "We have a sink right here, love the staff room," the young man dressed woman laughed, "You're going to need to lift her to get her up though."
Yuki would let Lore do it, since well.. it was Lore and Skye after all.
Lore stood up from where he was sitting, since he had used a fork and knife, his hands were fine.

Skye's eyes followed the direction Yuki had pointed in, and she broke into a smile when she saw the sink. She headed over to it and tried to look at it, but her eyes were barely above the countertop. She tried reaching for the water knobs, but she couldn't reach - even when she went up on her tiptoes.

Lore smiled a bit as he walked up behind Skye, bending down he put his hands around her waist. Taking time to get ready, he lifted her up so she could reach the sink herself.
Perhaps they should think of a footstool for her if she ended up staying with him.

Skye's wings rustled a bit as she was startled by Lore picking her up like that - but then she settled down and smiled, and reached out to give her hands a proper wash.
It took her a few minutes before she was satisfied, but then she turned off the tap and upt her head back and looked at Lore upsidedown.
"Skye all done!" she announced. "Lore wash now!"

Lore nodded, "Okay," he told her setting her down.
He really didn't need to, but he knew he probably should set an example for her. So he ran his hands under the water and washed up a bit before turning off the tap.

Skye grinned happily as she watched Lore, then rummaged around in her bag a bit. She had brought a few things - not much, but a few. Her journal, a quill made from her own feather, and a little bag of homemade cookies.
She left everything in there and closed her bag and looked up at Lore again.
"What we do now?" she asked, her tone curious.

"What do we do now?" Lore repeated the question vocally and in sign thoughtfully.
Now the question was how was he going to do this.
"I'm going to do some research," he told her, "But I do have something little for you to do."
He wasn't sure how much Skye knew about writing, but he was going to have to start somewhere.

Skye blinked, then smiled excitedly. "Something for Skye?" she asked brightly, her wings fluttering slightly. She grabbed Lore's hand and tugged excitedly. "Lore take Skye do something!" she giggled. "Come!"

"Yes," Lore smiled reaching over to pick her up so she could be closer to him when he talked, "Tell me Skye, have you ever written the alphabet by yourself?"
After all, Elnara taught them all, so he still wasn't sure, there could be chance because Skye was such a unique case....

Skye looked up at Lore with questioning eyes. "Skye write?" she asked. She reached down into her bag and pulled out her journal, the first few pages of which were filled with what was - under close scrutiny - the beginnings of the letters of the alphabet.
It wasn't that Skye had difficulty learning: in fact, learning all of the sounds made it easier for her to pronounce words; but it was that it was sometimes (or often) difficult for Elnara to find the time to spend with Skye on it, one-on-one, especially since there were so many children now.

"That's a good start," Lore murmured.
He was going to have to put his research on hold he thought, until she got a good grasp of the alphabet, he couldn't give her writing excerises to do on her own.

Skye grinned proudly and reached down, forcing her book into Lore's hand.
"Good Skye!" she giggled. "Lore read!" She nodded. "Lore read what Skye write."
