Ulani blinked at Skye, then reached over and plucked the needle from the tiny angel's grasp, careful not to p***k her.
"Why don't you give me what's cut already," she suggested to Kara, reaching across the table and taking a spool of black thread, "and I can start some of the sewing."

"Okay," Kara replied handing Ulani what was supposed to be teh robe part wtihout sleeves, "The back it's here, it's a kimono, it would take the least amount of sewing to make this, well minus the hemming of course,' she murmured.

Ulani took the material and nodded her understanding. "Do you make clothes often?" she asked Kara curiously, starting to sew where the angel had shown her.

"I tend to mend them more than I make them," Kara replied, "I use to, but these days Helen makes the clothes, since it's his passion and making clothes for the family is his excuse to try some idea or another that goes through his head."

"Your son, I assume?" Ulani asked. She found herself somehow ... amused at the idea of a boy liking sewing ... what a novel idea.

Kara giggled, "Yes, Helen is my son," she replied back with a smile.
She remembered absently that the genderization of human names weren't known, though she wondered if there was such thing as a male tailor.

"Oh... well...." Kara didn't really know what to consider Helen, he was human, only he was created and was techically a doll.
Therefore the question remained what race was he from.
"I don't know," she admitted, "He looks human, except he's... too pale to be one," well that and his hair colour, "I only know his type, they call themselves GEM types, but it really doesn't mean much."

"That's ... interesting," Ulani smiled bemusedly. "Are there many unknown races in your world? I find the idea odd ... although, I don't think there's a race in this world that I haven't seen."
But then, she'd had a lot of time to see them all.

"Probably," Kara replied, "It's not like everyone has been everywhere in Gaia, and then some races are complete xenophobes to the point where you might have heard of them, but no one has seen one, so you question if they even exist," she shrugged, "Or they could be a new race that was created by a deity, it's rare when that happens, but it does," she petted Miyu and Skye absently thinking about it.

Skye lay flat on the tabletop, her head on her arms, and closed her eyes and smiled. Her wings purred, beating back and forth slowly, peacefully ...

"Xenophobes?" Ulani questioned curiously, watching Skye curiously while still keeping a close eye on her sewing. "What's that mean?"
It was likely there was an elvish equivalent, but she didn't know it in the common tongue, and so did not know what to compare it to.

"Heh..." Kara giggled, "You are like a kitten Skye," she murmured before asking Ulani's question, "Phobe is to be afraid of... or rather it's a word to describe an excessive fear. Xeno, is outside or outsider I believe. It pretty much means to fear outsiders or outside influnces. They're not real phobics, but they're pretty close some races, they hate having other people in their territory."

"Ah," Ulani nodded. "I see. The very definition of the Southland Elves - ironic, since they were originally the ones who were outcast the the xenophobe Westlanders." She laughed, then sighed. "Ah well ... I suppose what goes around comes around, after all."
She shrugged and glanced at Kara for a moment before continuing sewing. "That's the real reason why Serenity and Elnara have been outcast, really. Even their own families are xenophobe. Even of them."
