phantomsgurl Samara_Lin I have two! In the new Ghost Rider movie, near the end when Roxy touches Johnny's face while he's still in "rider" form, his face changes back to normal in a wave away from her fingers, pausing momentarily when there is a small area still unchanged on the right (his right) side of his face. That screamed phantom to me, especially since Johnny had just called himself a monster and Roxy was proving to him that she sisn't think he was. YES!!! SOMEBODY ELSE CAUGHT THAT!!! Ahem. During the movie I was holding in a giant squeal because not only is his Rider head a skull, it's on fire like the dude from the book! So the minute we got out of the theater, I was like, "OMG!! That was so Phantom-y!!!" and my mom was looking at me like I had lost my mind. Also, the skull head has no nose. heart heart Yay! I'm not alone! I didn't bother holding in the squeal, lol. I watched it on a weekday in an empty theater, so it was just me and my boyfriend, who's now used to those random outbursts.

I nearly burst out laughing at this one:
In Spanish class, we were doing this worksheet on where the people are going. The last one on the page said "To where is Carlota going?" the answer was "To the theater". Her name was spelled wrong on the sheet, but still, it is rather weird. Could the creator have been a phan?

`~[Christine--Daae]~` I nearly burst out laughing at this one: In Spanish class, we were doing this worksheet on where the people are going. The last one on the page said "To where is Carlota going?" the answer was "To the theater". Her name was spelled wrong on the sheet, but still, it is rather weird. Could the creator have been a phan? In my French book, there are a lot of "Erik"s and "Raoul"s. I think one sentence was "Erik and Raoul are going to the cafe." And I was like, "to do what? Play rock, paper, scissors over Christine?"

In the Angel episode "That Vision Thing", the character Cordelia was getting a lot of painful visions that were suddenly having physical manifestations on her body, one such manifestation were boiles and burned skin covering her face accompanying a vision that had the location of a key. Upon Angel's return he sees her and bed and she looks up at him-
Cordy: "Was it there? Because I'm gonna be really ticked off if I'm all Phantom of the Opera and there wasn't a key."
Angel: "It was right where you said."
Another that I find really amusing (especially as someone who only really likes the book only) from the Angel episode Reprise, Angel was talking to a demon, who can read your destiny when you sing karaoke and is very picky about his music, about defeating something he didn't quite know what:
ANGEL: Can it be killed?
LORNE: Most anything that can manifest in order to move in this dimension can be killed. Kinda the down side of being here. That and the so-called 'musicals' of Andrew Lloyd Webber. (With a sigh)

Ah and there was a reference to the movie in the book "You Suck" by Christopher Moore... a character said he left the movie halfway through to maintain his sanity. Something like that. The author has a blog where he wrote a list of ways brain eating zombies could improve ALW musicals, his blog said the only way zombies could have improved POTO was if they went back in time and ate ALW's brain before he wrote it.
I know that's gonna anger some people here, but as I said earlier, I'm only really a phan of the book. I'm more or less ambivalent about the musical.

I don't think that was specific to Phantom though, especially if you come at it from an anti E/C perspective. Another episode of Angel (Waiting in the Wings) had a backstory that closely mirrored Leroux's POTO.
This man, Count Russian-a** (technically Kurksov), was a fan (manager, perhaps, I don't remember) of a ballet, and he was deeply obsessed with this ballerina. (She had no name, but the actress's name is Summer so I shall call her that). He believed that she reciprocated the love and only danced for him. Summer, however, had a lover, Stephan. Summer was torn because while she loved Stephan, she owed all of her fame as a dancer to Russian Count Man. She really feared that if Kurksov found out about her and Stephan, he would kill him. Stephan begged Summer to come away with him, but because of her love of the show and respect for Kurksov having helped her become a star, so she goes to perform one last time, and that last time is her downfall.
The story then diverges, as the Count traps the entire ballet troupe out of time and they repeat the same dance, the same performance, every night for eternity.
This is discovered when the Angel Investigations team goes out to the ballet, which Angel is raving about because he'd seen the troupe in 1890. But he realizes something is wrong when he notices it's the same exact dancers.

have you all seen meet the robinson yet? At one point the grandfather form the future sasy "weve gone past the point of no reurn!" i should "OMG, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA" out loud in the theratre...people looked at me funny, lol but i dont care. also theres a ton in POTC2.
Letsee theres a movie comiing out called fracture and the title shatters, looking exactly like the poto font
