As Violet was blown back to the tree she stopped laughing. Hearing Vanessa telling her to calm down she started to chuckle darkly. Crouching on the tree she told her, "I am being calm, you've only seen me lightly vexed so far," eyes flashing she settled back against the trunk of the tree, humming softly to herself.

((um, I'm going with me blown into the tree)) Haucon caught a branch and steadied himself glad to see that he wasn't about to die today. Trees were easy enough to deal with. He stuffed the dagger back in his pocket, and began to work his way down the tree, a constant stream of fairish slurs and curses issuing from his mouth. As he approached the bottom he jumped the last few feet, landing in the sand. His face was paler than usual, but he cracked his neck and tried to pretend to be fine. He cast a glare at Violet. I'll get her back for that somehow...he said to himself, checking his wings to see they were alright.

Vanessa slowly turned around, and grabbed her legs close to her. "Dream, is there more of that... Question, test thing?" She asked in a quiet, timid voice, still hugging her legs.

Leila made her way up to Haucon, looking him over. "I told you she was not one to be trifled with. Her temperament is...unstable, so to say. Are...you alright?" She looked back at Dream with a pleading expression, as if asking him to talk to Violet. It seemed he was the only one she would reasonably listen to anyway. But what Violet had said had made her angry. He hadn't deserved it, regardless of what he had said. She was sure he had meant no harm by it, anyway...

His wings were fine, and Haucon nodded to Leila. "Aye, I'm alright." he cast another dagger-filled look at Violet, before grabbing another cigarette and lighting up. He offered one to Leila. "What's with her anyway? Just naturally malicious?" he asked.

Vanessa had been watching and listening to Leila and Haucon. They had been getting along so well! Then she looked at herself. She felt like the outcast of the bunch. She didn't know why. She thought she was a pretty good person. She clasped her legs tighter to her body, and watched the waves crash onto the shorline. What was it that people didn't like about her?

Violet glared straight back at him, silently daring him to look at her like that again. She was too far away to hear the conversation but she could guess what it was about. She returned her gaze to sea, still shaking with supressed anger.

Leila shook her head and held her hand up in refusal of the cigarette. She hated the way they smelled, and she was still too young to try them anyway. Despite that, it didn't put off Haucon too much. "Like she said, she is a chaos demon. She's ventured from one mood to the next rather quickly with little instigation." She glanced over at Violet, no longer feeling angry towards her. "What...can fairies do exactly...?"

Haucon shrugged at her refusal and stuffed the pack back in his pocket. He was still thinking, for some reason Violet felt like an opponent to him. "Huh?" he said to Leila. "Oh sorry," he came back to the conversation. "Not much actually. Just some random bits of magic here and there. Like this." he snapped his fingers to show the flame. "I can't actually fly. I think the only fairies who can are pixies...And some simple illusions." he smiled. "My dad was a glaconer, so supposedly humans can't resist me." he laughed and struck a pose. He stopped and smiled. "Yeah, how bout you?" he asked.

"A....glaconer...?" She had never heard the word before, so didn't know what it meant, but his silly pose amused her enough. When it came to his question, her eyes lowered in a form of self-pity. "The mirage you saw earlier...I can make two or three of those. And..." Her stark white hair seemed to swirl before forming the shape of a knife, the waning sunlight glistening off its sharp edge. It only stayed that way for a matter of seconds before falling back to its regular form. "As for the regular powers of a succubus...well...do you know what they do?" Her eyes raised a bit in question.

Haucon shook his head. "I've been rather 'secluded' you could say." he laughed and sat down in the now drying sand. She looked so unhappy. He gestured that she should sit too.

Leila plopped onto the sand beside, sending a tiny cloud of grains behind her which quickly settled. "A succubus...is a sexual demon that coerces human males to...give her children," was the best and most unvulgar way she could put it, in a lowered voice. She was aware Vanessa was listening, but didn't want her to hear. Not yet. "It is an urge that cannot be helped, as it is their nature. But it was not my choice to be like this, for I did nothing wrong during my human life." Her brows furrowed in confusion for a second, but her eyes refused to look at him, worrying that he was judging her based on her words. "My death...was at the hands of a ******, the irony of my current existence." Leila sighed heavily and fell onto her back, her white hair encircling her head as looked up at the sky, wishing she could be up there instead. She didn't know why she was being so frank with him; the words just seemed to be pouring out of her mouth whenever he asked her anything.

Haucon listened in silence. When she was done, he didn't say anything for a few seconds. He looked at her. "I'm sorry..." he said slowly. "I shouldn't have pried. Are you alright?" he asked, mentally slapping himself in the forehead. "I take you don't...er...like your job, eh?"

Leila shook her head, closing her eyes for a few minutes as the images flashed through her head. "It's alright..." she finally said in a whisper, "talking about it helps me comes to terms with what I am now. I can't change it, so regretting the entire situation will simply be a waste of energy. But no, I do not enjoy the urges even if I need to fulfill them to remain on some level of sanity." She glanced at him out of the corners of her eyes, realizing now why she had felt so uncomfortable before...
It was the urge...
But it was for a different purpose than usual, as it had subsided. That had never happened to her before...
"Will you stay with us?" she asked out of the blue. "I mean, at least until you can find some way back home..." her eyes drifted back up to the sky, which was now darkening from the retreating sun. Why did I ask that? I had no right to ask him that kind of thing. Suppose he wants to find his own way back home, Leila? Then he'll just let you down...
Let me down? Do I want him to stay....?

Haucon looked at her as she talked, there was a strange look that passed through her eyes momentarily and then was gone. Probably just the light. He was surprised by her question and caught off guard for a second. "Uh..." He still wanted to get back at Violet somehow, not hurt her, just scare her a bit. "I suppose I could, I mean there's not really anywhere else to go...If it's ok with the other of course." meaning Vanessa and Dream.
