"It's Madison, or simply Madi." She smiled as she then moved closer to him with his sword tucked away. She then finally noticed that he had cracked the carrot in half and offered it to her.

Instantly she plunked herself on the ground beside him. Nibbling on the carrot quickly. She then smiled revealing her now carrot covered bucked teeth. She then noticed her messy teeth and quickly shut her mouth, and began to clean her teeth with her tongue. Slowly she then turned back to Laguna, smiling.

"Thank you. So what brings you here?"

"Training," he put simply and smiled before taking a bite. "Bread and fruit," he offered.

"I like your name, by the way. Did you make it up or did someone call you it first," his question were a little weird, even for a kid. "I made mine up for myself."

She then took the bread and broke a corner off and handed it back to him. She wasn't very interested in the fruit, she had a carrot and she was good.

"Thank you" her nose twitched as she then began to nibble on the bread now. She then looked up at him and swallowed the contents in her mouth fully.

"I like your name too, I made it up too. I didn't have a name originally...I had a number" She seemed completely oblivious on how much information she was giving out about herself. But she didn't seem to really care, she had a carrot today.

He nodded then asked, "A number," and took the bread and ripped a piece off for himself, ever attentive. "Thank you."

"A really long one too" at the end of her sentence she then took another huge bite out of the bread she had and chewed it ever so happily. After swallowing, she then lifted up some of her shaggy red locks to reveal a bar code on the side of her neck. It was cleverly hidden. Underneath the black strands, a few small numbers were imprinted beneath it.

"See?" She then moved her hand and allowed it to be covered once more. Pushing her glasses up she then looked over and noticed one of the books lying in his collection of stuff, which caught her interest rather quickly.

"Oh! What's that?"
PostPosted: Tue Jul 31, 2007 12:03 pm

"Well, having a number for a first name for any period of my life would certain inspire me to give myself a new name, that's to be sure," he said in a tone that expressed a sort of enthusiasm very lightly coated with sarcasm1 after seeing the bar code imprinted on the flesh of her neck.

Moving steadily onto the next topic of the conversation, Laguna followed a point a finger and grabbed a few of his books: Foreign Swordplay, Draconic: the Ancient Language, and an untitled book filled with drawings of places and their inhabitants, though not in any particular order, nor with any real expertise2.

"Why, these are books3. People write in them to document their knowledge for other people to read," he explained steadily.

1 But not enthusiastically sarcastic. wink

2 In fact, Laguna had a poor sense of touch due to a thick epidermis, the reasons for this was still unknown to him, but it came in more handy than it did otherwise; but this time it was obviously the latter as the pictures drawn looked like crap.

3 He also had a bad habit of being purposefully ignorant for reasons unknown even to me. Those who know him-- rather the one's who catch on-- think it's to disguise his intelligence in an attempt to try and fit in more, others just say he's being p***k4.

4 If for no other reason, it actually was just to have a little fun and what better toy than the minds of humans?

"Well I know they are books silly," She had then began to crawl beside him. Looking rather intently at the books out of curiosity. Though the girl's reading skills were very basic. She had then, she had grabbed them from his own hands and began to flip through the Foreign Swordplay, mainly looking at the diagrams and pictures within it.

She then smiled and placed it back on his lap, only to snitch the following book Draconic: the Ancient Language. To repeat the process over again. The smile had left her face as she looked rather baffled at some of the symbols in the book, which slowly resulted in her closing the book and placing it back on his lap again too.

"Your books are weird." She was rather blunt about it, unaware of what she was saying. Though Madison did look similar to a young Adult, she behaved very much like a young child. Smiling once more she then grabbed a hold of the final book, looking on the spine for a title of sorts.

"Where did it go?"

Laguna put the books into his bag and pulled out Bill Rawls', Summer of the Primates and Jackel Feildcan's, A Soup Made with a bit of Poultry for that Destinct Entity Separate from the Body.

"You may like these ones: the first is a story about a boy and his monkey companion, the other... well, I don't really know, I think I grabbed it by accident. I was looking for a recipe book."

He pulled on of the books to his face and breathed in through his nose as he used his thumb to send the pages racing between the covers. "I like the smell of the pages. Do you enjoy reading, Madi-bunny?"

The rabbit had then leaned over to smell the pages, it smelt like paper. Ordinary paper. Her nose twitched as she then looked back up at him and the book about a monkey.

"Well, I enjoy it as much as I can." She laughed rather nervously and grabbed a hold of the Summer of the Primates, and began to flip through each page rather slowly.

"So that's a monkey..." Madison beamed proudly as she just recently made this discovery. She then looked over and examined the cook book slightly.

"Any favorites?" She spoke rather curiously as she leaned over to examine the book, blocking the view of the book with her head. The girl had then began to flip the pages as he held the book in his grasp still. A rather awkward position, but she of course did not mind at all. Some of the pictures of the meals in the booked looked delicious, but of course, the rabbit wasn't a big meat eater.

"I guess so. Apparently humans evolved from them-- go figure," he liked to poke fun at the humans; they deserved it.

"I didn't mind the monkey one. I learned what a bushel meant. It seemed strange a boy would have monkeys though, usually I see them paired with men wearing a lot of yellow."

"Last man I saw wearing yellow had a big hat." She had then moved back to her original seating. She brushed her hair behind her ear and raised her eyebrow.

"What do you have against humans anyways, Lag-gi-Lag-go-Laguna?" A fair question, for obviously, he didn't like them. She felt slightly embarrassed do to her moment of struggling with his name, which resulted in her cheeks to go beat red. Poor bunny.

"Yeah, that's the one!" He said somewhat surprised she'd seen him around too.

Laguna took a moment to tilt his head back, having found a piece of grass to chew on, his hands placed firmly on his knees, arms bent slightly at the elbow, supporting his posture as well with his lower back, sighed as he considered what it was he dislike about them.

"They are too closed-minded, it suffocates the learning environment and takes all the fun out of life," this had taken a moment to consider, for, really, he'd never put it to words as much before, it was mostly understood that he'd been skeptical about them.

"However, unpredictable at times, I'll give them that."

"Some humans aren't that bad. I met many nice ones" Madison had then rested her back on the ground while looking up at the sky, the clouds began to make shapes and danced about it.

"But there are some, that aren't so nice." with a sigh she frowned and waved at one of the clouds. "It makes a duck"

Slowly, she propped herself up with her arms and moved her head from side to side as though she were cracking her neck.

"You know though, you can't judge all humans the same way. I mean, one of them may shock you." Moving her arms, she fell back down and looked back up at the sky to see that her duck, had now changed into a cat.

"Like that man with the big hat..."

Laguna laid back comfortably next to her, his arms behind his head and the piece of grass still in his mouth.

"I know," his tone was a little more sullen, but still willing to accept the fact that he too had met humans even he'd liked.

"Alligator lizards in the air," he said, commenting on the clouds.

"Oh yeah!" She then pointed over to a few clouds to the left, It was rather large, and rather dark.

"It kind of looks like a lemon...gone bad." At that moment the cloud had cracked rather loudly. It was a lovely sound, but neither of them were exactly dressed or prepared for the upcomming weather that was heading their way.

"I think the lemon is angry."
