KyotoYakimino I have the new codex for reference purposes. The new nids have the potential to be extremely deadly. In fact, many armies would have trouble beating them. Try 6 carnifexes in a 1500 point battle. o.o Remember: an army is only as good as the player. I can field 6 venerable dreadnoughts in my army. Chapter traits, b***h. It's all dependant on how cheesy you want to be.

People swear in a PG-13 movie. Deal with it, or get lost. Your choice.

Oh, my... Then why the bad language? It doesn't seem fair that the mods can break rules but we can't.
Then again, I guess that word is PG-13... Still...it is insulting to a guild member... Isn't that against the rules?

Reddemon anyways I say we get back to the thing at hand. Carnis & Dreads can both have 6 of their lot in their armys. but how much equipment can u stick on a dread? All dreads come with a CCW& Built in Storm Bolter, and an assault cannon. The storm bolter can be swapped for a Heavy Flamer. the assault cannon can be swapped for a T/L Lascannon or a multi-melta. the ccw can be swapped for a missile launcher. With the chapter trait for 6 dreads, you can make them all venerable. They can then pick tank hunter or furious assault as a skill. They can also pick extra armor, searchlights and smoke launchers from the armoury.

Here is the scoop: Venerable dreads may not be ablee to take as much of a beating as a fex. Especially considering a fully tooled out venerable dread is raher expensive... A fex of equal points could have 5 wounds and a variety of other nasty things. One lascannon/railgun/missile launcher can bring down a dread. It takes at least 4 to take down a fex. So...fexes are likely more surviviable. Remember: an army is only as good as the player.

Fexs have to be in synapse range to survive instant kill wepons which is a bit of a draw back

I'm just saying - you gear up 6 venerable dreads with assault cannons, give 3 missile launchers as well... They're probably going to HURT those carnifexes in a single volley of fire.

Of course, but unless you get a lot of rending shots, the fexes can just make their 2+ saves. Oh, and fexes are toughness 6...so nothing can instant kill them... And they do not need ot be within synapse range.
