Now if you ask me as the orks the inter galactic scrap dealers out there I think more of us should build are dreads from scratch so here's my question to all you fellow Mad Doks, and little old mek boys what kind of parts would you use in making a dread from scratch ? eldar wraithlord, Sm dread what would you use and how would you make it look?

If you want to make your own Kustum Mek, then just make it from scraps - offcuts of sprues, choppas, spare bitz, gubbinz from your bitzbox...

Grots, I would make it out of grots. It would take a massive amount of doing and you run the risk of it looking really really lame but in my head it just looks unspeakably unique and awsome.

I am currnently working on an ork Gargant that will stand 24" tall. It will cost 2000+ points. Ask me questions on it if you wish, and if interested in building one for yourself, pm me. i know a good lot about building them, i have un-official rules and i know an amazing site for building them in which i learnt (almost) everything.
A dumb-assed games-workshop employee (who didnt know s**t) reckoned a great gargant would stand 7' (yes 7 foot!!) tall real-life. That is just Ridiculous it wouldnt fit on the table!! the site im working from is much more realistic. If you want, i can post a pic of the size difference of:- stompa gargant, supa stompa, mek boy gargant, slasha gargant, normal gargant, greta gargant, and a mega gargant.
Anyways, dizzcuzz gargants.

Well, my Orks seem to get shot up alot. Bloodclaw has a hard time keeping his Boyz in order, and Gimpy and Kevin miss with the Basilisk alot. Maybe charging Space Marines isnlt such a good idea anymore.

Orks rival the Tyranids for the most vicious race, and orks in general are quite excellent at filling the role between nids and IG. They have excellent cc ability and the mass numbers, plus they all carry ranged weapons. I'd argue that Orks are the least changed in essense from 2nd ed. to 3rd ed. and furthermore do not need further alterations when their new codex (whenever GW produces it). The principle behind orks is brute force to win....and they do it well.

The principle behind orks is brute force to win....and they do it well. While my Orks win as well, overall they get shafted on everything. Rules never favor Orks, and I'd adore the Warboss being upgrades to toughness 5 (GW Forum Rumor) and the basic Boy finally becoming S4 like they should have been all along (my personal hope). An Ork doesn't perform anywhere near as well as a Marine point for point, and it takes loads of clever uses of cover and a very good idea of your opponent army's capabilities before they come into their own. On top of that Orks are only good in h2h if they get the charge, have you ever been assaulted by Catachans? They -will- eat Orks for breakfast. When the new codex comes out (which I've heard wont be fore at least 2 years) they'd better get just as many upgrades as the other armies have for a change, instead of sitting on the sidelines as GW plays Power Escalation games with Marines. And would it be too much to have all Ork options in one book? Ork, Feral Ork, Speed Freak, and Klanz rules in one place, printed along with their OWN WEAPONS LIST. I still can't believe GW cares so little about we greenskins they didn't even notice when they didn't include our own weapons list in the 3rd Ed. Codex. >.<
