*Maggie takes them from him, processing his words with a thoughtful frown before swallowing each pill. She then lowers the glass, keeping her eyes fixed on it, and says quietly* Thank ye . . . for taking care of me . . .

Don't thank me, Maggie... no, please, don't thank me. *he turns away from her, ashamed to look at her* This was all my fault. Tavin said it and he's right... I should have known my time would be dangerous for you... I wanted to share it with you ... but my... my self-centered aims nearly got you killed.
I deserve no thanks...

:::Cora awakes in her room, the same way she had the last time she awoke in the brink. Things just didn't feel right...:::
:::She cleared her throught, and moved off the bed. She decided to get herself a glass of water before stopping in to check on Maggie:::
*Exit Cora to Mainroom 277*

~Enter Tac-Showering in GPD~
The sound of slightly off key singing reverberates through the guest area as Tac fades into his room, wearing naught but his birthday suit and a dripping with water. He quickly notices the lack of the warm spray of water rushing over his skin and abruptly stops his singing. He twitches slightly at the first chill, in comparison to his skin and recent environment, but slicks his hair back and wanders about his room in search of a towel. He substitues a spare shirt when he comes across a pair of pants, a white tee, and a trenchcoat. After drying himself off and dressing he pops his head out of his room, glancing each direction and heading off towards the main room in search of something warm to take the edge off the chill.

*Bard starts to pace the room, as is his habit when nervous. His leg throbs too much and he sits down next to Maggie instead*
... In my time, we know that most illnesses are caused by things called germs... it would take a long time to explain what they are, and it really isn't important...
There are always germs, everywhere, but usually they don't make us sick. Our bodies recognise them: the way guards recognize the enemy and defeat them.
But sometimes, when our bodies don't recognize the germs, they get inside us and make us sick. And sometimes, the germs are so different from anything our bodies know that they make us really sick.
When you came to my time, it was very different from anything you'd experienced before, you probably didn't understand a lot of the things you saw. Your body didn't understand the germs either, and so something that didn't make me sick at all... it very nearly killed you....

*Maggie falls silent, her grip on the glass tightening as his words and their implications sink in. She'd known she was sick, but hadn't been aware enough to know just how close a call it had been. To realize it now, along with what caused it, is upsetting and even frightening, and the feelings are reflected clearly on her face.*
*Even though what he's saying makes sense, she doesn't want it to, and she struggles to find some sort of flaw in the logic that might make it not be true* But if . . . if these germs are everywhere, and different in all times . . . wouldna any o'us fall just as ill from traveling te each other's worlds? No one else has gotten sick like this . . . . perhaps 'tisn't . . . *but she doesn't complete the thought, already aware on some level that it isn't going to change what he's telling her*

*Bard looks at the floor*
I think... for me.... when I visited your world... the germs there are old in my time. They aren't a threat to me... And Cora... She's practically Supergirl. Her immune system is probably better than anyone's. And Tavin's an angel... so...
But, going to the future... we just can't. If I went to Cora's time, I would get just as sick as you did coming to mine....

*Maggie's shoulders droop in defeat, and she drops her gaze back to the glass in her hands, concluding sadly* Then . . . I canna go back again.

*Her disappointment is apparent, but she takes a breath and releases it slowly in an effort to put things in perspective. She lifts her head to look at him again*
Ye need not apologize te me, Bard . . . *she hesitates, then reaches out to take his hand in hers, wanting to comfort him somehow, and smiles, albeit sadly* I'm glad I could see yer world, even only once . . .

*Bard squeezes her hand. He looks up at her and smiles softly* I'm glad I could share it with you.
And I'll bring the dress for you the next time I come.
*he brightens* And I can come as I please now... at least I did once...

I think...
I think I've learned a lot about faith recently...
