She leaned back, but rubbed his back with the tips of her fingers. "In no way are you sucking me into these things. You have nothing to worry about, there."

She just smiled as she continued talking with him and trying to ease his stress. "You know me too well to know that if I didn't want to be involved, then I wouldn't be."

She sat back up so she could rub his shoulders a bit more roughly. "Anything else that has you stressed and grumpy that you need to talk about?"

"Yea. I know what you mean." Mari just kept at it and smiled. He seemed to be calming down and she was glad that he was at least talking to her instead of holding it all in.

She wrapped her arms around him again and placed her hands on his chest. At that, she rested her chin on his shoulder and spoke to him. "I'm just worried that I won't be of much help."
