A swift gust of wind rushed through the room as Alexz and Veroen appeared in the same position they had disappeared from the park in. Using her telekinetic powers to assist her, she gently lifted him and placed him on the chair in the center of the room. Observing him for a moment she sighed.
"What in the hell am I doing?" she asked herself.
Not only was he a traitor for being romantically affiliated with the Hunter leader; he was also a traitor for nearly ending her life. But she, too, had once been considered a traitor, so she could hardly hold that against him.
Several cabinets behind her opened and various medical supplies floated to Alexz's side, which she used to wash the blood from his face. The supplies returned to their rightful places as she paced beside him. She wasn't sure how else to help him. On a whim, she pierced the skin on her wrist with her fangs and brought it to his lips, hoping her blood would somehow be of assistance.
"Veroen..." she spoke into his mind, slight worry apparent in her tone.

Images flashed through the Void Assassin's mind. He relived his sister's and brother's tragic death at the hands of bloodthirsty Lycans, as well as other events he had lived through during his dark life. The video playback of his life seemed to last ages...
Then he faceless image of the Void came into view, laughing hysterically, screams of all of Veroen's past victims echoing through his mind. Veroen hissed at the faceless image of the void, and it reached out towards him with a malevolent appearance, and he heard it say, "Veroen...".
Veroen awoke suddenly, Alexz words seeming to reach him though it seemed to be coming from the picture in his head. With Assassin speed he pulled a curved dagger out from the confines of his clothing, and sat up in the blink of an eye, dagger ready in his hands, staring forward with his teeth clenched and a snarl on his face. As he did this a sort of loud, exasperated grunt out of pain and anger, escaped his throat.
But there was no faceless image, no laughter, and it was quiet. He let out a cry of pain as he fell backwards, pain shooting through his body from sitting up so suddenly. He coughed, and more black blood spat out his mouth as he dropped his dagger onto the floor. The dagger made a clank and it echoed through the silent room, and he slightly turned his body while clenching his stomach which caused his face turn into a look of excruciating pain.
He somewhat fell back onto his back, teeth still clenched from the agony. He let out a labored exhale of breath out of instinct, and began to take in his surroundings. He glanced over and saw the face of Alexz. However, he could not really react because of the pain.
"Wh..." he coughed up more black tar like liquid that was actually blood. "...where am I..."his speech was rather labored, and it apparent that he was weak.

The images that flashed through his mind flooded her. As the image of the Void reached towards him, she leaped back, narrowly avoiding his violent awakening. Veroen's pain projected so strongly that Alexz found herself clutching her abdomen and slightly doubling over. Her nails painfully elongated, lightly coated with a layer of silver. Raising her hand to her face, she seemed perplexed, this was an ability she was unable to control.
As he spoke, her attention shifted and her nails retracted. A towel floated from one of the cabinets into her open hand as she cautiously approached him. She offered it to him as she knelt by his side. He looked so helpless it was rather heart-breaking.
"You're in The Coven's Medical Room," Alexz spoke softly.
"Perhaps it's less exhausting to communicate this way?"

Veroen's eyes were shut and his teeth clenched from the pain. He laid there, and slightly grunted. He opened his real eye lazily, and looked towards her direction.
"I...."
He didn't quite know what to say. Or think for that matter. Something happened, he knew that much... He hadn't been brought down to the point of such injuries since.... when he almost got killed by the Void all those many centuries ago and instead absorbing it.
He closed his eye, and thought for a moment, regardless of the fact that his thoughts were no longer private.
"What happened..?"

She gently wiped some of the blood from his face before wiping what had made it to the floor. Alexz tossed the towel over her shoulder, sending it flying into a trash can in the corner of the room. She hoped she hadn't invaded his personal space too much.
"The Void wanted you to attack a young lycan in Central Park...you hesitated after I told you he was just a child and the Void wasn't too happy so it fought for control until it knocked you out..."
"Is there any way I can help you?"
"And not all of your thoughts are public, I try not to probe too much," she clarified.
It was easy for her to enters the minds of others, but she made an effort not to intrude. It wasn't very polite to do so, though sometimes it was necessary.

Veroen let out a sigh, and turned his head so that he was looking away from Alexz. What was happening to him...?
"I see..."
He was quiet for a minute. His thoughts were, anyway. His mind was blank. He didn't know what to think, nor did he know what he wanted to think.
"I don't think I CAN be helped, Alexz..." He replied mentally in a soft tone, reluctantly admitting what he knew. Veroen had delved far too deep into the Void to seek power to exact his revenge, and now it was killing him. He was however somewhat appreciative of her kindness to him. He hadn't expected much hospitality from someone he had almost killed...
"....thank you." He replied in his head. His eyes became watery. He had never felt so helpless in his life as a Vampire. He kept his head turned away from Alexz in an effort to hide his weakness, regardless of the fact that it was probably in vain.

Alexz shifted so she was seated on the floor, resting her back against the chair behind her. She folded her hands in her lap and listened quietly. It was difficult for humans to admit weakness let alone vampires. It was courageous and she respected him for it. She wasn't about to be his greatest friend, but it was certainly admirable.
She sighed, "I don't think anyone can ever be truly lost to it...it just depends how hard you're willing to fight...or what you're fighting for."
Her features softened as his eyes watered. It wasn't often that a vampire showed any human emotion. Her eyes watered out of sympathy and she gently patted his hand. It was a small gesture, but she hoped it was somewhat comforting.
"You're welcome," she replied and she meant it.

Veroen was silent as she spoke to him in his head. The void inside of him was silent as well...that was a first. The Assassin had never felt so... so weary, and old...like butter scraped over too much bread. He couldn't imagine how a human must feel. He held in the tears. This was twice in one night he had made a fool of himself.... In front of Rogue, and now in front of Alexz.
"My reason's for continuing are dwindling, Alexz...." He admitted.
He almost couldnt believe himself. He had always been a strong, skilled, and intelligent young Assassin, and yet now, he was in his weakest state he had ever been in. The Void was draining him. Slowly, and maliciously.

"You don't have to hold it in, I don't take advantage of the weak," she said softly.
Humans were far weaker than vampires, both physically and mentally. Their lives were so fragile and it made their suffering that much harder to witness. Being a psychic vampire made it so Alexz was constantly surrounded by the suffering of others. Over the years it had become easier to protect her mind from the thoughts of others, but suffering always projected the most. A vampire's suffering was different because it grew over centuries. A vampire's suffering was never dramatic until became too much to bear.
"What about Eden? Is she not reason enough?" she asked very gently.
She tilted her head back and glanced at the ceiling, "Getting up is harder than falling, but I think you can do it...or at least give it a good try..."

Veroen was silent for a few moments.
His love for Edith had slowly died during his absence, and it was all but gone now, barely clinging on by threads, and Veroen was almost completely numb to it. There would be no stopping it from continuing to get worse.
He knew he didn't have to say anything aloud for Alexz to get the message. So he continued to stay silent, feeling numb to the emotional stress again, a blank facial express now apparent on his face.

Her brow furrowed. The Void was a terrible plague that it seemed none of their kind could fight against. It was quite sad to realize how fragile they could be. Would they all end up like this? There had to be some hope. It was hard to find any when seeing Veroen in this state.
"Guess that whole love conquering all nonsense is bullshit." Alexz thought to herself.
"There has to be something..." she didn't want to accept it, she didn't want to go down the same road.
Her eyes wandered the room as if this problem was that easy to solve. She bit her lip, forgetting that her fangs had elongated when he had awakened earlier. Blood filled her mouth for a brief moment before the wound healed itself.
"Blood, would that help? It's helped Rogue...for the time begin at least..."

Veroen turned his head towards Alexz to gaze upon her immortally beautiful facial features. He now felt regret... If he hadn't tried to kill her and Rogue, they might not have gained such a connection to the Void that they both had now...It was a curse; One that Veroen had been under for far too long.
Veroen glanced down towards the direction of his feet, thinking.
"I don't know. I don't think I have tried..."

"Don't regret it. If that hadn't happened, I wouldn't have known you and you would've been left alone in the park."
Of course she would have known of Veroen's existence being that she was an elder, but there were so many vampires in New York City that it was impossible for her to meet them all. She also wouldn't have met with him because she never arranged any assassinations nor felt the need to.
"Well anything's worth a shot at this point, right?"
Alexz raised her wrist to her mouth and gently pierced her skin. She wondered why she was going through all this trouble to help him. Perhaps it was her compulsive need to do the right thing at all times. Or perhaps it was her way of preventing this very thing from happening to her.
She brought her wrist closer to him, "Don't take too much, or else I'll have to hurt you," she smirked, hoping to lighten the mood a bit.

Veroen grinned on one side of his mouth slightly, as he glanced from her face, to her wrist as she brought it closer to him. His fangs elongated as they naturally should, and he gently bit into her wrist with his fangs, allowing a bit more blood flow. He slowly drank the steady droplet sized stream of blood that flowed from the Vampire Elders wrist. As he did so, his eye pupils shrank and his eyes grew darker for a moment, and then flashed back to their original crimson hue. He coughed up some more black tar looking blood, and his head fell backwards, and he became unconscious once more from the extreme fatigue.
((I suppose we can kinda fast forward to the next day or something. Up to you.))

((Yeah, having her sit there and stare at his unconscious body for the rest of the night would be rather creepy XD Where do you want me to move him? I'd suggest Alexz's room but I wasn't sure if you had somewhere else in mind.
Ohh, and my bad for signing off earlier, lost connection for a while Dx ))
