DragonOdjn As much as I hate to admit to this. there's a lot more opportunities for trombone players. There's a lot more famous ones, too. And, as a bonus, there's the much-overlooked fact that trombone is the least expensive entry into the low brass club. A good trombone costs as much as only one used car. A good tuba or euphonium is worth THREE! Heh.. and if you're loved by your section leader, you get a trombone worth about 600-800 dollars for a hundred dollars... Curtis rules ^.^

We're the Low Brass...it sucks...

You're right. Fiberglass doesn't sound right. It gives the instrument such a hollow sound. Imagine how many waterslides could be built with the fiberglass from sousaphones!

YES! at the end of the year melt the horrible sousas and have a pool party >< that wouldent work lol. Ive had bad experiences with fiber glass, I wasted a good 2 weeks trying to make an amp box with my brothere lol, lots of cuts.

I would like to say that I play A Tenor Trombone with an F attachment. However *drools* rofl I would kill for a 7-ft octa-contra bass Trombone, with a stick-slide attachment. rofl

Do you know what sound really stupid to me? Valve trombones. Who would be stupid enough to put valves on a trombone! (No offence if anyone plays this...)

hmmm.... lessee.... just found this guild and thought it looked kinda cool. I've played trombone for.... 6? something like that... years now... never took lessons, but I'm good enough for the top band in my highschool, so I figure I don't really need them. -I'm good at learning on my own.- I've played the marching baritone in my marching band for the last ... well this year makes 3. Really wish I'd done it freshman year though... let the pressure get to me and didn't do it... Anyway..... oh! has anyone here been to the ACCs? 'Cuz we were there last year smile our first time there... in the history of the school smile good times.... damned cold, though

oh, and .... the valves on a trombone thing.... do you mean the key-trigger? 'cuz that's just for making some notes easier with alternative fingerings and letting you get to the lower notes. (bass trombone has gotta be just about the coolest low brass ever... though I've never played it, on of the tubas in the marchingband has one.... definitely cool.... part red-brass too *drools* I love the look of red-brass....
