When her finger touches his skin the first thing she realizes is that it is freezing cold just like the room that and that it seems hard as rock yet at the same time seems to indent slightly from the gentle pressure. Iokomota's eyes brighten for a moment as they move slowly to keep Ritska in their sight. She can almost see his skin in the dark start to ripple slightly outward from where she had poked him as it becomes apparent that he is just skin and muscle and bone all of the small amount of fat he had is gone leaving his body carved with where his muscles are. Slowly he starts to move a finger then his hand bringing his finger to his mouth in a hush kinda of way as if to say she might wake the dead with the noise she makes.

Ritska blinks in surprise, raising her eyebrows at him. He was so cold... though the room was too for some reason. But, while she now realized it was him, not a statue- man did she feel like an idiot- something still seemed very odd. His shoulder had felt so hard, too hard, and he seemed to just be skin and bones, though not quite. Ritska frowns softly, now confused, watching as he raises a finger to his lips in a hushing motion. Ritska hesitates, looking at him for a moment, then looks around the room. Why was he hushing her? "When did you get back?" She asks anyways, seeing no reason to be quiet. "And why did you all leave?" She adds, frowning at him.

"I got back but a few moments before you. As for leaving well I had to go and check in on some of my relatives. I can't speak for anyone else though."
Iokomota speaks in a hushed tone his voice just above a whisper his eyes every now and then leaving Ritska's to look at the room behind her.
"It's much harder to keep track of the ethreal that is lurking around here somewhere when you are making so much noise and letting in the light from outside..."
He again becomes very still his eyes searching for a moment before locking onto something in a corner of the room and following it across the wall with his eyes still glinting an eerie red in the darkness.

Ritska blinks, surprised to hear how soon he had just gotten back. Well, that had been good timing, she supposed. Ritska sighs a bit, nodding as he mentioned everybody else. So, still no clue where they were. Ritska frowns a bit, then noticed his eyes flitting from hers every now and then and turned a bit to look around the room. All she could see, though, was darkness, and she could sense nothing other than Iokomota beside her. But... then, what was he seeing? Ritska almost tells him she's sorry for having disturbed him, but then realized that too would be noise and distract him. Instead, she quietly sets down her bag, then noticing Iokomota focusing on a certain part of the wall turns to gaze at it as well, wondering what there was to see there. Again, all she saw was the darkness of an abandoned home.

The longer she looks at that part of the wall the more she starts to be able to see something there similar to a long serpent like dragon but almost completely camoflauged as it seems to be eating something in the dark. Iokomota slowly stands up moving to just behind Ritska and sliding his arm down the length of hers gently raises both of their arms palms up as if to invite a pet. He leans in against Ritska slightly and whispers very gently in her ear.
"Now that you have found it and can see it ask it to come to you with your thoughts and it shall. The Ethereal won't hurt you in anyway if anything it should cuddle right up to you considering your distressful memories. For their entire race feeds on old negative thoughts and emotions sucking them up momentarily as a energy source for their bodies. The fact that you have even been able to be in the room with one is lucky but that you now know how to call out to it is even luckier if it comes to you."

Slowly, Ritska's eyes became fully adjusted to the darkness. And, as they did... she began to see something. A serpent on the wall! Ritska gasps quietly in surprise, her eyes widening a bit at how big it was. It looked like one of those Chinese dragons she'd only ever read about. And... was it eating something? Ritska wasn't sure how to react, but then feeling Iokomota's hand on her arm, she jumps a tiny bit, her ears flicking as she glanced back fast, not having noticed him get up. Ritska relaxes again, though, then looks down at her hand as he lifts it up, before looking up to the serpent again and listening to what Iokomota said. Hearing his words, though, she couldn't help but frown a bit. It was the whole distressing memories thing... "Heh, emo's best friend." She mutters sarcastically under her breath, then hesitates, before nodding a bit. Well, she supposed it might be interesting to at least try. She knew nothing would happen probably, if it was rare for them to come to a person. Still, Ritska takes a deep breath and focuses on the serpent, tentatively calling out to it with her mind, asking it to come to her.

The serpent turns its head towards Ritska having heard her call with a somewhat quizical look. It sits there for a moment studying her and Iokomota before slowly and calmly sliding off of the wall and into mid air to wrap around Ritska's arm gently letting its head rest in her palm. It looks her in the eye and for a breif moment all of her past comes to the front of her mind and then is gone as if just erased while the serpent lies there holding a small sphere of darkness in its clutches sucking on it like a bottle.

Ritska blinks in surprise as it turns towards her, then watches in awe as it slides off the wall and floating in mid air moves over to them. As it begins to wrap around her arm, Ritska holds still, almost not even daring to breath. She didn't know what she expected it to do, or what she should do now, so she just held still and watched as it wrapped around and laid its head in her hand. And then, as its eyes met hers, her mind was suddenly filled with memories. Ritska gasps, her knees locking so she didn't fall as she was struck with them all, all the bad memories of her past. But... as quickly as it had come, it was suddenly all gone. Ritska blinks, still reeling for a moment, then tries to bring up the memories again... but found she couldn't. She could remember what had happened, of course, but the actual, vivid, pain filled memories were simply gone. It... had taken them. Ritska pauses a moment to let this sink in, then lets out a sigh of such intense relief. "Wow." She mutters, then shakes her head. She couldn't remember any more. The painful memories were gone. Ritska looks down at the serpent, smiling a bit and using her thoughts sends it a thank you.

The serpent looks up at Ritska and with a voice like honey and love it replies.
Your welcome...
Iokomota smiles at Ritska and politely bows to the serpent before returning to his seat.
"You can move anytime you wish love she won't hurt you or anything in fact she seems quite comfortable..."

Ritska blinks in surprise to hear the serpent respond, then smiles a bit, relaxing at the tone of voice. It wasn't the sort of voice that she could see fitting with a snake, but then again, it was clear that this was no normal snake. Noticing Iokomota moving back to his seat, Ritska turns to look at him, then smiles sheepishly and nods at his words. She had been afraid at first, sure. She wasn't much a fan of snakes. But this one did seem nice. "How come I've never heard of a... Ethereal, before now?" She asks curiously as she looks down at the serpent, then walks over to a couch near Iokomota's seat and sits down, making sure not to jostle the snake wrapped around her arm as she does so. The snake had made her feel a lot better than she had in a long time. The memories gone was like a darkness lifted from her mind.

"It is because there are so few left in the world. Many people long long ago back in midevil times had managed to kill them using various kinds of holy magic to bring all that hides in the darkness into the light. A few were saved by people merely for science purposes. Me I saved this one because she is the last female of their species and I had a very curious mind back then. I don't cage her in though anymore than is nesacary as there are some places that would not be welcome to her kind anymore for Ethereal and the sight of one are considered a death omen but such is not so."

Ritska listens silently to his story, then nods, looking down at the Ethereal wrapped around her arm as she considers his words. "Well, seems like you've found the perfect home then." She comments to the serpent, smiling a bit. After all, the Haven was a safe place for all the darker races, or people disliked by society, was it not? She could see why this serpent might be misunderstood. "What's her name?" Ritska adds curiously as she brushes her fingers down the snake's scaly side.

"That is always a good question Ritska. She likes to change her name a lot for some reason but she likes to be called Shiphina."
Iokomota smiles watching Ritska hold the Ethereal before slowly standing and stretching letting his muscles loosen up after having been sitting still for so long. He looks around the room for a moment before letting out a low and depressing kind of whistle that almost sounds like someone a woman screaming as it echoes through the Haven's every little nook and cranny. After a few minutes Ritska would start to notice the room seem to slither and move all at once as the very shadows and darkness seem to slide over each other. The walls seem to be closing in and then two pale icy blue eyes open up looking like small seas of ice because the eyes themselves are the size of the doors to the Haven.
"Hello...Alexander..."

"Well nice to meet you Shiphina." Ritska greets the Ethereal, smiling a bit. Since it had spoken mentally with her, she found it easy to talk to the creature as if it weren't just some animal. Ritska strokes the Ethereal's scales again, then yawning leans back against the couch as she watches Iokomota get up to stretch. But, as he whistles, Ritska instantly flinches, her ears flicking back as she frowns. Well, that was not a pleasant sound. "What did you do that for?" She asks unhappily, the sound sending shivers down her spine. However, as the sound echoed through the Haven, Ritska began to notice a change. It was very disorienting, as the room seemed to twist and move, all of the shadows and darkness shifting about. Ritska frowns again, blinking and shaking her head in confusion at what was happening. Everything seemed to close in around them, and she felt her heartbeat pick up again as she felt like the room was shrinking, a very uncomfortable feeling indeed. "What's going o-" Ritska starts to ask, then gasps a bit as she suddenly saw the huge pale blue eyes, large as the doors, open up before them. They were so big... how did the owner of those eyes possibly fit in this building? Ritska blinks, staring at those eyes, then glances to Iokomota as she greets them. Alexander? "What?" She asks, so confused. He knew this thing? What was going on here? Ritska turns her eyes back to the blue ones, squinting a bit to try and see what the rest of the blue eyed thing looked like.

As Ritska focuses her eyes she realizes that the whole room had been covered in what she thought were shadows but upon closer inspection now it reveals it to be an enormous Ethereal wrapped dozens of times around the room.
"This my daughter is Alexander the largest and oldest of the Ethereals that I was able to protect from dying. Well...Don't just lie there Alex say hello."
The icy blue eyes shift to focus on Ritska as suddenly she can hear a vast almost cavernous voice in her head speaking to her.
Hello little fox child
