Marshall couldn't help but release an equally large yawn. "Yeah...It is kinda late." he agreed, rubbing his eyes. He wasn't sure WHY he was so tired...Maybe it was all the M&Ms and Popcorn. Picking up his own bottle, he slowly got up and treaded over to the trashcan, throwing both the bottle and his over-kept popsicle stick into the trash.

"What Duplex are you in, any way?" Marhall asked. He had asked a lot of questions tonight, he wasn't sure why but he didn't really care.

"I'm in Duplex 62. It's pretty far out from the center." Gaius picked up his used plate and silverware as well, stacking them on top of the bowl. He'd make a stop by the caf on the way back.

"Feel free to stop by if you ever want, though I can't guarantee how clean it'll be," he grinned warmly. "But a normal face is a welcome sight anytime."

Marshall blinked when Gaius said he was in duplex 62. Marshall was never really good at math, but he could do the basics. Lets see...

"Dude, I think we're neighbours." Marshall chuckled lightly. At least he had cool neighbours here, right?

"Well, guess I'll see ya around, eh? I'm at 59." Marshall added with a smile, patting his new freind on the shoulder before heading back to his duplex.

Junk food and Inidiana Jones...Oh yeah, this really WAS a hell hole.

Gaius filed the number away and gave him a friendly goodbye before taking the dishes towards the caf.

A thought clenched his stomach. The lower numbered people he'd met... They were changed, some quite a bit. Maybe the duplex numbers were related to the number of subjects...?

He shook his head. No, that couldn't be the case.

Things were too good to dwell on whatever doom they had coming. Instead, he began humming that familiar theme of the brave treasure hunting adventurer and wandered off into the dark.

[New RP]

All things considered, Sid probably should have gone for a lighter fare of movie, instead he was watching Fargo. Could be worse, and some might even consider it a dark comedy... which was still a comedy in his books.

Sid, as he watched, had his cane draped over his knee and his sunglasses folded over his shirt collar. The TV's sound was down to reasonable levels. It was a novelty for him, but he'd been spending too much time at the bar lately. And in the movie, the deal was being made for the murder of Jerry Lundegaard's wife.

Maryke rubbed the back of her head her good hand as she walked towards the entertainment room. It was hot and humid, so leaving the village was out of the question EVEN if she wanted to brave the wild, sort to speak. She had cleaned herself up, looking more like her usual self despite the 'bandage' tied over and around her shoulder. Thought it wasn't really a bandage so much as it was a few ripped silk scarfs she'd had on hand. She needed to redress it after Emerwyn's kindness, and opted to do it herself. There was NO way in hell she'd entrust her wound to the bastards who were turning her into an animal.

She walked into the room now and stopped a moment, always cautious about who was in the public domains. When her hazel eyes settled on a grizzled looking man she frowned a bit. Unchanged... What the hell? Did these crack island harvest these people or what? Gullibility seemed to be in vast quantity with how often new islanders sprang up. She sighed making her presence known to him, as if he couldn't already see her lingering in the entryway.

She quirked her eyebrow at the movie, recognizing it istantly. "Coen fan?" she asked, flopping down next to him without an invite.

"Maybe just a bit," he said, glancing away from the TV only after Maryke had a seat. He made up for initially ignoring her by giving her a good once over- with paticular attention paid to her legs. He was, for assorted reasons, oblivious of the bandage.

"Helps to get my mind off things, anyway." He turned back to the TV, difficult as it may have been.

Maryke hadn't noticed he giving her an eyeball check nor did she realize he was looking at her at all. Her hazels were fixated on the screen, one hand idly rapping her nails on the table that was next to the couch they both were sitting at. At his question she chuckled a bit bitterly.

"I would imagine, things like being tormented and turned into animal," she agreed, nodding her head once. "You just arrive?" she asked, turning her to look at him, though he was now looking at the tv.

"Few days ago," he said, turning his head to the side just enough to look at her. "What about you?"

His eyes were back on the screen before he finished the last part. As far as he could see, without bothering to turn his head to get another good look, the fuzz was some sort of fashion accessory.

"Oh I've been here a few weeks," she said waving towards her 'earmuffs' as if to say 'as you can see', but she didn't catch that he DIDN'T realize that they weren't accessories. If she knew then it would do nothing more then please her greatly. She shifted a little and stopped rapping her nails long enough to run a hand through her wavy brunette locks coupled with the highlights. She was glad the lake mess hadn't done any harm to her well kempt hair.

"Wouldn't think they'd take someone like you though," she said tactlessly.

"From what I've seen they take all kinds. And make all kinds. Bizarre stuff out there."

Sid idly pushed a stray strand of hair behind one his ear. Beyond the general gray mess was a ponytail that kept things more or less in check... a ponytail far too long for a man his age. But then, given the rest of his clothes it matched.

He looked back at Maryke as her first response sank in. He'd missed the earlier gesture, and women's fashion was something he'd never understand, so the assumption remained the same. "I woulda thought- to have been here a few weeks- you might've shown signs by now."

Maryke chuckled, now realizing he DIDN'T realize. Well that sure was amusing. She raised an eyebrow, only half looking at him as she twitched her ears a bit. Not to demonstrate, but a movement all on its own.

"If you think reallly hard, you'll see the signs," she grinned. If he did or didn't she was apathetic all the same. Though she couldn't help, but think for an older man even he had an interesting look to himself. And he was right, bizarre people came in, bizarre people created. But the subject at hand was making the madam uncomfortable so she took it upon herself to get up and go over to the shelf where the tapes and dvds were kept.

"Let's say we watch something else, I've seen this already..." she said, as she reached for a tape at random, not bothering to look at the hand writing that was scribbled on it. It was probably porn, who the hell knew...not she. She slid the tape in after taking out the other and setting down, and then after a few seconds of silence and a fuzzy picture begining to wane together to form a scene, a strange show click on, obviously someone had taped.

She screamed at the first image she saw.

The twitch finally made him see, only to bring him to the conclusion that it couldn't be all that bad to be a poodle. But before he could say as much, Maryke rose.

"Aw, c'mon!" he said of the sudden decision, holding his hands out. Problem was, stopping her would have required getting up, and that required too much effort.

The scream that followed made him cringe, and then lean over to get a good view of the screen. All that fuss, over a puppet? But then he recognized the ruff.

"Whoa, it's like the Ring," he mused. "Only cute and fuzzy..." His eyes drifted to Maryke's backside. He couldn't help but grin. "And strangely familiar."

A small little noise of frustration left her lips as she leaned over to get a view of the screen unbeknowingly giving Sid a look at her well toned, backside...more then he was already getting. She squinted her eyes and studied the puppet carefull, her features contorting until a grimace of sorts. She only had her ruffed ears and furry stole to go on but the fur....the silky white fur it was the same.

"quiet..." She hissed at Sid, only giving him a glance back before the little puppet began hopping around (strings very much present in the shot) as she heard the distinct animal animal name of 'lemur'.

"This is a ******** nightmare," she groaned, moving away from the tv and heading over to the things she'd least likely to even be around....encyclopedias... She picked up the 'L' one and began to skim through it. Ignoring the man on the couch for the most part.

"It could be worse," he said. "You could be stuck watching this."

He glanced down at his cane, seriously considering just pushing himself up, but another look to Maryke gave him the impression it was better just to wait and stay out of the way.

He looked back to the TV. Children's programming while sober, that was torture. So while Maryke paged through the encyclopedia, he leaned across the couch, snatched the remote, and turned the TV off.
