Hey lovvies, I don't know if it's allowed here or anything, and I only mean well with this post - that, and I probably have alot more time on my hands than any normal human being should have - but I just wanted to give it a passing mention! biggrin

I know that for most of you guys, it's your first time RPing, so there are some things that would just be weird for you...I don't know if the mods would allow this post here; if it isn't, then the Qingfish is very, very sorry. D":

Well then, on to what the fish has to say >3

"Your" -- It relates to "This is your file", "It's your life," etc, etc, and not to be mixed up with "This is you're life." and stuff. I know it's a little confusing, but it's kinda weird when these words come out.

"You're" -- It's short for 'You are'. Also kinda means that "You are beautiful"/ "You're beautiful", not "Your beautiful."

It's the same for They're and Their. biggrin heart

Also... "Shouldn't have" should be used in statements like this, "She shouldn't have done that," not "She shouldn't of done that."

I'm terribly sorry if I sound really nitpicky, but I just thought I'd point it out biggrin I'm not perfect either, but if we all can improve on writing together, it'd be fun, wouldn't it? This is text based, after all! heart

"Definitely" is spelt like that, and not "definately", and it really would help if paragraphs are spell-checked for consistencies. Being the a**l git that I am, I do stuff in Microsoft Word so I won't mess up on basic spelling, then I post 'em on the board. My apologies if I sound like said a**l git at this moment >3

So anyway, yeah.

Also, on to the subject of godmoding. I know it's been stated in the rules that "No godmoding is allowed", but some of you aren't too clear on what it really means, right?

Okay, godmoding technically means that you CANNOT control other people's characters. Not a single one of them. Which means that if you play Joe, you can talk about Joe's movements all you want, but you CANNOT talk about Bob's reactions to Joe's movements until Bob-mun has mentioned it.

Which means this, "Joe looked over at Bob curiously, trying to figure out what Bob was thinking even as Bob gasped at Joe's words."

Now, some of you might think that there's nothing wrong with this, but do remember, there are many actions a character can take. Bob can be looking down at his shoes or something instead of gasping, and you're forcing actions on the other character. I know it sounds really minor, but when a character forces actions on other people, it tends to make the mun a little uncomfortable.

Also, another little point of god-moding I'd like to point out. For example, "Her beauty turned everyone's heads/caught everyone's attention even as she walked in."

THIS is also godmoding. In fact, you're controlling the actions of every character. It might sound very good in a storybook/novel context, but in an RP context, this is a strict no-no. In short, stick to what your character is doing, and what he's thinking. If another character's mun has mentioned a previous action, and you wanted to mention said previous action in your post, then by all means, it's cool. But mentioning a character's reaction to your character's actions, when said character's mun did not yet have a chance to reply to that is a definite no, as well.

Also. IC =/= OOC. Old fogey RPers would know this very well. Which means that OOC drama STAYS OUT of IC interaction. Whatever you know about a character's actions OOCly DOES NOT mean that it can be used ICly.

Your character IS NOT God. Mun and muse are not each other. If...say Bob and Jane are going out secretly and make no mention of it, my muse has NO way of knowing anything unless they tell me. I can't just magically KNOW every little intimate thing they do, because that's impossible.

Unless I'm a pervert and I conveniently stick a camera where they're supposed to be intimate in.

Also, please remember that, like every story, in every game, THERE IS A FOURTH WALL. Fourth wall meaning that the characters in it do not recognize the author, or the audience, for that matter.

Can you imagine if J.K. Rowling stuck herself into Harry's dorm and cast a spell for him before leaving? It doesn't make sense, right? The mods have already stated that this is a STORY.

And like all stories, the fourth wall can never be breached. The mun cannot insert herself into a story. I cannot enter and kick Sora's a** if he's being a moron in a scene, or help him acquire a new Keyblade, because that'd just be retarded, and dude, seriously, WTF? Sora needs to get his own Keyblade himself, dammit.

Hello AHRians! Within the next few days both school and dance (oh, by the way, I dance. :B) will be starting again for the year. I'm not going on hiatus and whatnot but I may be on a lot less. Sad as it is, I actually have no idea how my interwebs time will be affected. *weep*

I apologize ahead of time if I start to slow threads down (though I'll certainly try my best! It's normally not a problem.) and I guess I'll just have to see what my schedule will be like from there. I have to go and be "smart" and take honors classes, so I don't know what kind of school work I'll have. But whatever. I normally get it done without a problem. Dance is also Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings meaning if I am on those days, it'll be later and for only a short time.
