Sammy glanced at the beast, then Jordan, "Understandable." Just as Jordan asked for defense two moons appeared on cue. The ghoul grinned to Joy and Jason.
"Well Hunters, wana see a hat trick?" Jordan of course wouldn't be socked when Sammy flicked he right hand a sword looking awful lot like her artifact hanging from her waist earlier now gone suddenly appeared.
Jason took point managing to knock away the talons, they'r aim off sammy wound up grasping her sword in bot hands as purple flames flickered along her bone arm even creeping onto the blade. She swung with all the force she could muster cracking the talon as it grazed by only tumbling through the dirt twice before hopping up again a wild grin on her face, something else was going on, her 2nd artifact, the bone like shield strapped on her left arm seemed to be getting full.

The trick was quite interesting, though Jason was unsure how Sammy could do something so hunter like. Regardless, he didn't bother to ask her, using the flat of his sword to block the attack. Though even with his defense, it was hard to block such a massive creature. HP: 41 Defending Sammy for 7

Jason wasn’t alone in blocking though, Sammy stepped up beside him shoving her shield into the talon as well pushing the beast back again only offering a quick nod of thanks before she rushed in again, her attack was less force and more speed this time. The undead ghoul moving alarmingly fast as she spun around lashing out with her blade in a series of quick slashes that should have easily thrown her back or shoulder out, yet somehow she kept moving before tumbling down into the dirt again as the beast reacted shooing her aside like nothing more than a fly.

Joy wasn't sure how futile their struggle was against this massive creature but she wasn't the type to give up so easily. While Jason kept watch of Sammy's back, Joy did her best with Jordan's.

The creature swooped again, and Jordan and Ferros stretched up to hit it. Ferros struck solidly, and his runes lit brilliant red. "We're ready," Jordan called. "What do you need? Just a heal?" He nodded his thanks to Joy, appreciative of her defense. HP: 22 Dmg: 11 x2 = 22 +4 = 26 Charge: 3/3 Boss HP: 448

Jason wasn't sure how Sammy was able to move so fast, which freaked him out a little since zombies were supposed to be slow and shambling, and was thankful she wasn't attacking him and the giant bird thing instead. Not allowing himself to be distracted, he managed to keep up with her speed, jumping in front of the zombie and keeping the monster at bay with quick slashes of his blade, then holding it firm as it pushed back, his boots sliding in the dirt in a battle of strength "Everyone okay?!" He grunted, body shaking with exertion, unable to look at anyone else as he focused on trying to push back.
'Zanth this is not the time!'

For Jason, luck was in his favor, the ghoul was spent, her FEAR expended she was starting to slow down, she had one choice left, but it would be a last ditch effort to keep herself alive, meanwhile she followed after the hunter going for another swing, but this time her blade bounced off the stone hardly dealing damage as she stumbled to the side.
“Not exactly… we gotta make a call…” She turned her gaze towards Jordan, “We either swing for the fences or we double down on heals. And I can only do this once.” Her sword was practically humming, as was her shield at this point. Something was going to spill over soon, she just wasn’t sure what it would be still.
“Pick. Fast.”

"Well, if we double down on healing, we can get more shots in before we're out of this fight," they decided, and held Ferros up in from of themselves, hands braced wide on the hammer's handle. Ferros's runes flashed brightly, and a cloud of warm steam hissed from the vents on the hammer's head, then eeled over to wrap itself around Sammy, easing the zombie's injuries and returning Fear to her. "All right. Your turn?" What Joy and Jason thought of their easy familiarity and cooperation with a Fear creature, they didn't know, and they couldn't afford to worry about right now. The threat literally looming overhead was a higher priority. HP: 22 Healing Sammy for: 21 Charge: 3/3

Thinking? Naaaaah, Joy wasn't much of a thinker (if she was maybe she wouldn't even be here). All she knew was Sammy was fighting with them and not against them. There was a senior Hunter who wasn't telling them to fight Sammy. That was good enough for her.

”Steamy healing time it is.” She was crouched her small bone buckler pointed towards the sky her sword dragging in the dirt, the glow of the rune in the middle of the weapon pulsing curiously as Jordan’s FEAR embraced her, the mist coiling and into her empty sockets, into her skin and bones invigorating her.
Slowly she stood up, a twist of her wrist and a flourish of her blade she slammed the sword blade first into the dirt, blue runes erupting around her in a ring as the sword sank into the center of the circle before simply vanishing. Suddenly tendrils of red seemed to float through the air, the tendrils an afterimage of FEAR, linked back to Ferros and Jordan.
Reaching out Sammy grasped the strand of FEAR, a warm sense washed over her, the heat of hot metal in her hand causing her to shiver at the intense sensation as she could smell the smoke. So this was Ferros, this was his FEAR. She tugged the strands of FEAR pulled towards her, though Jordan and Ferros felt nothing Sammy was given just a small taste of the weapons power as a translucent copy appeared in her hands made of the left over FEAR. She did her best to grasp the weapon blinking curiously, it was her first time taking a hunters FEAR. Still she pointed the hammer towards Jordan focusing.
The image flickered, the steam began to build, but the whole weapon seemed unstable. Flickering between existence and simply falling apart. She grunted softly before yelping in shock as the weapon burst apart the FEAR released back into the air, far too diluted at this point for anyone to use.
“S-s**t Jordan… I ******** up… I couldn’t hold it s**t!

They watched curiously as Sammy drew on their Fear, feeling no tug or draining sensation but watching as a translucent copy of Ferros appeared in Sammy's hands. It was a strange sight, a little unsettling to watch anyone else appearing to wield the hammer. Ferros's mind touched Jordan's in a wordless reassurance and reiteration that it would never happen. The wavering copy burst apart without releasing a healing charge, and Jordan grimaced. "Happens sometimes," he said, squashing a flicker of irritation and an edge of alarm. It wasn't as though they'd never blown a charge themselves. "We've got a couple of attacks left in us still."

Jason wasn't concerned about Sammy and Jordan's friendship, as he considered himself good friends with a certain ghost, but what he was more concerned about was her failed attempt at healing the sun, whom had sustained considerable damage. He dashed across the ground, moving in front of Jordan to keep the bird monster at bay. He wasn't trying to abandon Sammy or anything, but as she had just been healed and Jordan hadn't, he had to change priorities. "We should retreat to the medical bay, let Sammy cover us while we heal ourselves, then we can take turns fighting and defending!" He called out to the group his own idea on what they should do. HP: 41 Defending Jordan for 6

Joy still managed to take another blow for Sammy, even as she did Jason was calling for a retreat to get Jordan back to the medical tent. The ghoul had to admit it wasn’t a bad plan giving her failure to control the copied version of Jordan and Ferros’ fear.
There was still a moment of shame, her head hanging down just a bit as Jordan reassured her, but the fact that she failed was still there. “Go, get what recovery you can,” Her left fits flickered with purple flames again. “Take another shot or two, then we retreat.”
Turning back towards the rampaging beast she grabbed onto a nearby tree hoisting herself up into the lowest branches scrambling for a moment before taking a leap from the tree to smash her fist on the creature one more time.
The moment she hit something changed, something was full. There was a power growing in the buckler artifact, and it wasn’t something small like the ability to walk through a door, or be immune to fire. The flames in her eyes flickered towards the three hunters unsure of what exactly was about to happen even as the bone made shield started to crack and groan against her arm.

As the most junior of those present, Joy was more than happy to simply do as she was told. It wasn't like she had any better ideas and it was abundantly clear that she was, how do you say, sorely outmatched. With Sammy having been healed and Jordan looking like he could use some Moon crystal power protection, the trainee took up position to help beef up Jason's defense.
"We gotcha covered, Jordan." she said, though she did make sure that she would be within reach for Sammy.
