Argyle clucked his tongue in annoyance as Sybelle took damage. True given they were fighting a legendary some damage had been expected, it was the very reason he'd chosen to use a Ghost-type in this fight, but that didn't mean he was any happier for it. It showed just how outmatched in a straight out fight he was against this thing...and that was all the more reason to capture it while he could.
Grasping the PokeBall clutched in his hand anew, the boy would wind up. Now while the Deoxys was weak, it's defense absolutely pitiful, was the perfect time to strike. Besides Sybelle hadn't pulled herself back together just yet so all the better. Still the boy would hesitate. He only had two chances at this realistically, and if those failed....well there was no chance he could drag this thing back to the Academy. Least not without it waking up and psychically murdering them all.
Just then Sybelle would reappear giving a low ">Atatata<" From the pain. Ghost she may have been, but electricity still hurt. Her kind weren't exactly as incorporeal as people thought, something she found curious now and then, but....meh, too boring. Now pranks, those were good times! Giving her characteristic ">Mwehehehe<" The Gastly would sink into the floor, slipping into the shadows and slinking through them till she reached that of the alien Pokemon. Coming up behind him she'd tap on his shoulder....when he looked nothing would be there. She'd tap his other shoulder. Again nothing would be there. She'd tap his thigh, and then.....">HGFBLE!<" Scream like a lunatic before attempting to headbutt him with her solidified core. Another performance set to Astonish.
Starter Pokemon: Croagunk [M] Name & Level: Jekyll, Lv 5 [Temperament] Naughty Bio:The story of how Argyle met Jekyll is a bit of an odd one. After purchasing a bulk shipment of skin rejuvenating mud from Sinnoh's Great Marsh (Guarnteed to take twenty years off your appearance!), Mistress Rosevelt had set aside some time for a fully immersive experience with the product, during which she received quite the surprise. It would seem the mud had come with stowaway in the form of an egg. Unfortunately it was about this same time the egg decided to hatch, splattering the aristocratic woman with muck and eggshell. After a shriek and shrill cry for the nearest Argyle to attend her, Verde arrived and was immediately ordered to dispose of the creature, although not before cleaning up the mess it had created. Whispering a snide remark just below his breath, both Mistress and Argyle were in for a surprise when the newly born Croagunk began to snicker devilishly. It seemed the Poison-type had heard the boy, and shared his sense of humor. Amused by this fact the young Butler then went about the task of convincing Mistress Rosevelt that the Croagunk would be quite useful in his regular duties, allowing him to make the manor to "shine as radiantly as you do Mistress Rosevelt". Little more in the way of convincing was required on the boy's part, and so he obtained his first and for the time being only Pokemon.
Since then Jekyll has proven a good match for Argyle, frequently snickering at the boy's comments be they made aloud, or simply implied. Unlike Argyle however Jekyll does nothing to hide his wicked nature, frequently mocking others quite openly and then laughing about it. Though cruel he is not crude, and more than willingly to amuse himself by catching the enemy off guard. Stats: HP: 12/21, PP: 22, ATK: 13, DEF: 10, SPD: 11, SP-ATK: 12, SP-DEF: 9 MOVES: - Astonish - Headbutt - Meditate - Mud-slap Held Item: EXP: 60/150

With his 'staff' striking nothing but air, and with what water did come in contact with his face from all the flailing, the Ledyba would continue to panic. ">HELP I CAN'T SWIM! I CAN'T SWIM!!!!<" He sputtered, getting wetter more from the erratic motions of his limbs rather than the actual depths of the water. Though if he kept it up for long the Bug-type was liable to either suffer a heart attack or simply fall off the lilypad and actually drown. Alice had previously seen how deep the bog actually was, and there was also the chance it was deeper in certain sections,

Alexander stopped and blinked a few times as some little ducklett popped out of the bushes and started quacking at him. The bird didn't look all that intimidating, and if anything it seemed to be the one put on edge. Still, from the way it was acting it didn't seem the water bird would let the group pass. Not without a challenge, anyway.
Glaive frowned a bit at the bird's words, being able to understand what the frightened female was saying. Unlike his trainer.>"I admire the attempt, but I'm afraid we cannot leave yet,"<the pawniard warned her, then got in a battle-ready stance.>"With or without your permission, we will continue onwards."<
Alexander sighed a bit as Glaive appeared to be ready to fight as well. He'd rather hold the pawniard back for the moment, but he knew Tsuna's moves would be of no use against the ducklett. Being at full health made flailing about useless, and mud slap wouldn't even be able to touch the bird. The only option he was left with was not so good, either."Revenge!"The boy mentally cringed as Glaive followed his order, knowing that he was going against type advantages, but it was better than his remaining options.

Sybelle's hit landed, but no damage was done!
The Deoxys was getting better at not reacting to Sybelle's taunts, no matter how bizarre they might be. It merely looked on, eyes colder than all the expanse of space. There wasn't much need for fun and games out here in the wilderness... however she'd learned these pranks, it didn't matter to the Deoxys. Still, it stared down at the Gastly, a disdainful glare on its face. And it became very clear that, under the withering stare, the Deoxys was attempting to use Leer! Would the Gastly's attitude be able to stand up to the scorn?

If he'd still been in possession of a mouth, Vorpal would have smirked. So close...
Alice bit her lip, staring at the flailing Ledyba. It was getting down to the wire... for once, she hoped Vorpal's attack wasn't too strong. For a minute, she considering throwing one of her Pokeballs... but it just didn't feel right. "Shadow Sneak, Vorpal. Let's finish this off."
The Honedge shared none of his trainer's worries-- indeed, he was too excited for the battle to care much. His shadow snaked out, wrapping itself around the Ledyba and attempting to give one last spooky surprise squeeze!

The response of the Gastly would come in the form of her massive pink tongue rolling out of her mouth, flicking spit as she blew the biggest, fattest raspberry possible; and for a Gastly that was saying something indeed. Defiance in the face of authority! Was that not the poltergeist way!?

The shadow would close in around the Ledyba, and as he flailed and thrashed the stem of the lilypad would finally snap. Water would rush over the insect as his own weight carried him down, salt invading his senses as bog water filled his lunges. Flailing more violently than ever before as he fought to breath the Pokemon would at last thing to open his shell escape...but too late, wet wings didn't fly. Raising one fist to the sky, it's stick forgotten, the Ledyba would utter one last phrase ">Rose...bud...<" Then it was over. A few brief bubbles would float to the surface and pop, but the Ledyba was no more. Vorpal had claimed his first life.

Well., that was that, then. The Honedge inclined his hilt towards the sinking Ledyba. He hadn't set out to kill it, but the deed was done. Besides, killing felt... acceptable. He didn't have much memory of his previous life-- most Ghost types didn't-- but he couldn't shake the feeling that he'd done something like this before. He pulled back, suddenly realizing that even if he was okay with it...
"I... I didn't want..."
... she wouldn't be. Vorpal hovered over to his trainer, who knelt by the side of the lilypad. From her expression, she was far more unsettled by the death than he was. Not entirely sure what else to do, the Honedge lightly patted her shoulder with his tassel. Even if she was able to understand him, he was pretty any words of comfort he had wouldn't help matters.
As it was, Alice felt torn between guilt and a curious sort of numbness. She was responsible for the Ledyba's death, and she'd never once considered taking a life but then, she'd known going to the Academy would lead her towards things she'd never intended. She didn't like it, but... what else was there to do? She could have caught the bug, she supposed, but perhaps that would have meant another death later on. Alice bite her lip, staring into the slowly steadying water. This was how things were, and no amount of pity or self-flagellation would change things. Inclining her head respectfully to the water, Alice would let Vorpal wrap himself around her arm, and left the lilypad behind.

Leer failed!
Despite its bluster, even the Deoxys couldn't help cracking a smile-- or a rough approximation thanks to its odd facial features-- at the Gastly. This, of of course, ruined the effect of the Leer, and caused its attack to fail completely. Still, the Deoxys refused to let itself be ruffled: the battle was little more than halfway over. The creature would give up the ghost, one way or another-- but for now, it needed to protect itself from any more... pranks. Instead of moving, it steadied itself, levelly gazing at the creature. It'd take whatever "astonish" attack and stare it off... hopefully.

[[15-13]+[9-7]]/2 = 2 points to foe ducklett!
Well, at least Glaive's attack actually hit the water bird. Unfortunately, it was only a grazing blow. Frowning, the pawniard started to move off to the side to try and avoid whatever attack the ducklett might throw his way in retaliation.
{{OoC: Bleh, current movesets are so not viable for this opponent. XD It was either go with a move that doesn't work at all, go with a move that would do zero damage at first, or go with something that's only at half effectiveness. This fight is so not going to end well.}}
Hiro didn't immediately call out his pokemon. He always claimed he would be the world's greatest trainer, and though most took his bragging to be completely idiotic, he was no one's fool.
Blight is a grass type, normally a Sudowoodo's worst nightmare, but, her moves, she only had one for attack. Sludge is a poison type attack, that means, this pokemon is hugely resistant to her attacks. Then, it looked strong, though she wasn't very smart in his mind.
Thus, instead of attacking, Hiro sat down in front of the pokemon.
"Your disguise if amazing."
He would declare as though to the air. The fact that this was the only tree in a barren land didn't help the disguise much.
"A master of disguises, and a strong pokemon to boot. I am aiming to be the world's strongest trainer and if you come with me ....I can make you much ...much stronger and if you left his barren land and got to see the world your disguise can get better. You can trick more pokemon and humans, and show your worth to the entire world."
"What do you say?"
He would ask as he waited for an answer from the pokemon. It seemed it only made sense to try and persuade the pokemon first.

Now? NOW? WHAT ABOUT NOW!? Argyle grabbed his head with his free hand, gritting his teeth and wanting to scream. Lord why was he hesitating. Why was he actually worried about this? Just throw the god damned ball already. If he missed he had another, and if that missed he just steam rolled ti and took a picture. Simple. That would still leave him far and above whatever expectations the teacher had set for him. He hadn't cared much for any of the labour he'd been given in the past, just that he exceeded expectations. So why in the name of Arceus did he care now?
In a fit of rage the boy would finally do it, hurling the empty PokeBall forward in hopes of finally capturing the Deoxys!
[Jekyll would just stand off to the side, prepared to offer Argyle a paperbag in case he wanted to start hyperventilating.

Alice's mourning would be interrupted by the low hum of wings. ">Krsssssh. This is Pilot to Sky Tower. Com in Sky Tower. Krsssssssh<" A voice buzzed from above ">Two bogies spotted, over. Krsssssh<" When the girl turned to look she'd find a high flying Yanma barrel rolling and cartwheelings through the sky....and more importantly coming straight at them! ">Krrssssh. Attempting retrieval of weapon. I'm going in. Over. Krssssssh<" Wings picking up the pace the Yanma suddenly shot forward; but it wasn't attempting to attack, instead it was attempting to actually STEAL Vorpal! Well the Honedge did look like every other sword.
