((Thanks for catching me up! I hadn't realized how few pages it had been since I last posted. sweatdrop ))
Aila woke up from another vivid nightmare with a jolt. Well, at least she had gotten some sleep, and on the bright side her migraine was gone. She heard noise outside and got up to go see what was going on, but before she took so much as a step, a wave of nausea (sp?) swept over her. She leaned against the wall for support, only one word coming to her mind; Irony.

Jessica turned around to see Aila finally awake. "Stay low," She whispered, "Don't let them see you." She Looked back towards Sarah, who was unhitching a small gun from her ankle. Jessica stared at it reluctantly, thinking As much as I don't want it to be, that just may be the answer to my question...

Aila slid down to the floor, her back to the wall. Slightly relieved to sit down, her curiosity was nagging her to take a peek at what was happening. "What's going on? What's wrong this time?" She wispered hoarsely.

"I think they've got us surrounded... And Keme's out there. I can't see what's going on but I can hear it... and it doesn't sound good." Jessica replied. She looked at Aila, who still didn't seem well. "We'll have to run, definitely I think, but we may have to fight too... I won't leave Keme to be captured. Are you well enough to run?"

"Please, you two better stay down." Hoerwick had come up from behind them and was holding the device he had used to communicate with Keme earlier in his hand. Though his body was old and his physical strength was none existant, his mind was the true threat to any. Armed with only his mind that was shaper then a tack he sat down behind Aila and Jessica working on a way to help Keme.
Sam Kasper nodded to Rick understanding full and he himself would have been doubtful of Rick had he not said he had to call it in. All the while he kept his gun alined to shoot Keme in the head.
Keme glanced at Sarah then to Sam and finally let her gaze fall apon Rick. "I was kind of hoping you'd shoot him first then call it in... I really hate feeling like a robot."

Aila answered Jessica's question with a nod. She'd have to do what she'd have to do. Biting her lip, she fingered her knife. Hoerwick said to keep down, but her anxiety and apprehension was slowly overcoming her, not helped by the nausea that seemed to root itself in her stomach. The less she did the worse she felt. Stay where you are. Everything will be fine, she tried to convince herself.

Jessica glanced up at Hoerwick. "Can we tell what's going on with that machine?" She asked. "I know that it helped us to find her last time, but, we already know where she is, just not how she's doing." She got up and sat beside him, staring at the device. What all the buttons and lights were for still didn't make much sense to her.

After a brief conversation, Rick nodded and hung up the phone. "It's been confirmed," he said, waving his soldiers away from the man. "Welcome, Sam Kasper, could you please detain this thing?" He looked to Sarah and smiled, clicking his tongue. "Thanks for your help, Sarah, the general has informed me that you will be well rewarded when we get back to base."
Sarah made no emotion in her face. She kept her gun poised at him. "I don't know what you're talking about Rick. Your method of trying to confuse these people isn't working. They're not stupid."
"On the contrary, I think they're smarter than you think they are," he grinned. "You see, I'm sure they're well aware that you confirmed us to come here, and that you didn't try to stop us. You gave the signal for your rescue, did you not? How else did you set your watch for our arrival? You didn't even warn them of our coming. Nice job, I have to admit. You could have been well away from here by now."
Sarah grimaced. It was true, but she didn't do it intentionally. Could she convince everyone that she didn't want this to happen? Damn those pain pills for clouding her judgement. She was tired of this. She needed a plan, and fast. With all these soldiers, what in the hell could she do? "You're right Rick, but thanks for revealing me so soon," she said as sarcastically as possible.
Rick, unfortunately, was not fooled so easily. He knew she was up to something, she could tell, just by the grin on his face fading. "Detain her," he said, immediately followed by two soldiers from behind her surprising her to the point of not having enough time to use her gun as a threat to keep them away. She scowled at him. "Rick, I'm offended," she spat.
"Sorry, Sarah, drastic measures for drastic times, you understand."
She didn't even try to struggle against the soldiers holding her arms. However, knowing that her small gun had yet to be discovered, she had dropped it to her feet as they approached her, hoping they didn't notice it being dropped. They hadn't. "Do you have to grab me so tight?" she complained, struggling enough to kick the black gun at her feet in Jessica's direction. They took Sarah over behind Rick, sitting her down on a rock, Rick barely looking in her direction as they passed. Sarah hoped that Jessica had a better plan. With her and Keme both in a difficult predicament, she didn't know what to do.
Rick looked at Sam Kasper and nodded. He moved towards the cabin. "Search the house and take anyone inside prisoner. Kill any non-humans if necessary."

Don't panic, don't panic don't panic...
Jessica's thoughts raced as she scrambled to pick up the gun. Her arms and legs were trembling. She'd never used a gun in her life. Her eyes wide with fear, she kept the gun pointed downwards, feeling as if everyone could hear her heart pounding inside of her chest. She looked back at Aila and Hoerwick, pleading with her eyes.
What do we do? What do I do?
She hid by the door, and readied the gun.
All I have to do is pull the trigger.
As frightened as she was of them, she hoped, for their sake, that they were wearing bullet-proof vests.

Hoerwick pulled up an old data file and, with some adjusting, he combined both old and new data into one file for Keme. "Pray that this works," he whispered to Jessica. If it did they wouldn't need to use any firearms. Well Jessica, Aila and himself that was.
New Upgrade From DR. H. Hoerwick
Her hopes were lifted by the message that appeared across her line of vision. Keme accepted the file gladly while having to hid her joy from those surrounding her. The file unfortunately would take a minute or two to fully download and she still needed to let Sarah know she would be moble again. That was if it worked. How to do that too was a major problem by itself! After all she doubted Rick was dense enough to not notice them talking.
"If any one of my friends get hurt, Rick, I'll make sure the same happened to you!" The file wasn't downloading fast enough and Rick was moving in with his team. Keme sounded as threatning as a butterfly was scary, and no one here was afraid of a butterfly.
"I wasn't..." Keme started but stopped as Sam was now moving twoards her looking as he was going to do something like shoot her. Looking past him though Keme could see Sarah sitting on a rock. The little voice, that was right ninty percent of the time, told her not to try anything. That it would be to dangerous for her to attempt. Keme ignored that little voice and instead worked on her illusion powers so that it would appear she would move earlier then she would be able to.

((Yeeks! Sorry it's been so long. I've been busy.))
Aila listened intently to the voices outside, catching snippets of conversation. "...They're not stupid..." That must be Sarah "...They're smarter than you think they are...you confirmed us to come here...you didn't try to stop us." What? It must have been one of the agressors. He knew Sarah? What had Sarah done to get them to come here? "...Detain her..." Aila couldn't stay put any longer, not while all of her friends - or whatever one would call them - were in trouble. Whatever Sarah had done, it didn't matter now. Aila took her knife from her belt and made her way quietly to the door, putting her back against the wall on the side of the door opposite from Jessica. She looked at Jessica, holding a gun in her hand with what seemed to be great uncertainty. "...search the house...take anyone inside prisoner..." Aila suddenly had an idea. "Hey," she whispered as quietly as she could."Do we have any more guns?"

Hoerwick nodded and moved over to a pile of things retreiving Keme's gun and throwing knives. He crawled back on all fours moving back over to them. "What do we do with them though?"

Sarah rested her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hands. She tried to look as bored and defeated as possible. She waited desperately as Jessica tried to find a way to escape. Rick, it seemed, wasn't going to hesitate. He motioned for the troops to surround the premises, like they weren't already. He turned around and gave Sarah a big toothy grin. Sarah looked unmoved.
Turning back around, Rick hoisted his gun to ready position. Sarah needed to make a split-second decision. It was her career or her friends. She knew whatever choice she made would have consequences. It's now or never, she said to herself. It was a risk, but it was something she'd be willing to take.
Without warning, she snatched the semi-automatic from the now one soldier holding her hostage, bringing the handle up on his nose, a fountain of blood spilling all over. The soldier staggered back, holding his nose, and in a second Sarah had aimed the gun at Rick's head and pulled the trigger. In another second he lay on the ground, head split open, warm crimson staining the rubble.
The other soldiers reacted quickly. Not surprising. It's what they were trained to do. Immediately Sarah ducked to the ground and rolled towards Rick's body. She paid no attention to Keme- she hoped hoped Keme had quickly gotten out of the way. Taking cover behind a chunk of concrete structure, she frantically searched Rick's body. Two guns, a knife, and oh- this was perfect- a grenade.
Pressing herself against a rock, she peeked around the side when she heard a decrease in the cracky, blocky sounds coming from bullets hitting the concrete. Without hesitation, she aimed for the leg of first soldier she saw and hit. All those years in evading and marksmanship training was paying off. Then she pressed herself against the rock again, peeked around the other side, and shot the next soldier along with another one nearby. A barrage of fresh bullets ensued in her direction, flinging by her and into the concrete again, splattering fragments of rock and rubble everywhere and dispersing a cloud of dust. Sarah took the dust cover to her advantage, removed the pin from the grenade, and threw it into the direction of the majority of soldiers. Making haste, Sarah got on her hands and knees and scrambled towards the cabin.
"GET DOWN!" she yelled, hoping the others would hear her over the deafening firepower. By this point, the soldiers on the other side of the cabin had rushed to see what the problem was. As she rushed on all fours to the cabin, Sarah saw a soldier heading towards her, and deftly shot him in the neck. His screams were drowned out by the sound of the explosion behind her. Instinctually, Sarah crouched into a ball and buried her head with her hands clasped over her neck. She heard herself cry out when something entered her calf and hip. She collapsed to the ground but pulled herself back up to slide into the cabin. She had no idea where Keme, Jessica, Aila, Hoerwick, or that crazy scientist was. All she knew now was her heard beating like a marathon and the warm feeling on her right side. The pain medication must still be working, she wondered. She looked to her side and saw Jessica. Through her strained breathing, she smiled. She threw two of the three guns she managed to get on the way to the cabin onto the floor towards Jessica. Sitting and leaning back on the wall, she tried to regain her breathing.
"I'm sorry for the trouble I've caused. Take those guns and get the hell out of here. I'll hold back what I can." She blinked and held her remaining gun to her chest.

Keme had been caught in the blast along with Sam. Both had died but... it was hard to kill Keme.
Restarting primary systems...
The biomech suit Keme was wearing went from a dull grey-blue to a glowing blue. Her systems were coming back online now and the biomech suit restarted her human funtions. With a gasp Keme's eye shot open and the girl started to cough before rolling over on to her side. "I'll never get use to that..." Keme muttered through burned lips. Her body parts that were exposed were in some way of varing degrees burnt.
Hoerwick tried to move to Sarah but stopped when her realized he'd be in a no cover area. "Not without you, Miss Sarah. Or Keme."
The burned flesh was starting to recover and even her hair was too. Keme slowly pushed herself up from the ground and surveyed the area. No one was moving in her imediate area but she could see others moving farther off. Keme moved over to Sam and picked up his gun and took his combat knife, "Sorry, but I'll be needing these too." Keme also took any extra aimo she could find.
