Trinity's attention went from the amusing sight of Ephraim's bound form, to the many requesting Reapers shouting out to her, to which she gave them a look of disgust! Sure, the praising was great to hear, and she might of had the most perfect moment ever had it not been for the requests! "I'm not into old guys, I just want to smash his face in, and beat him up good! And humiliate him to no end! To see him beg me for mercy! But hey, you guys can have him after i'm done with all that, if you like. " That might be more horrible then anything Trinity could have done to him, they did have some creepy idea's, didn't they??
Now, with her attention set on them, she didn't quite realize that was her biggest mistake she could have made, as he was managing secretly to slip his wrists from the gloves that held him from the tentacles that were wrapped around them.It was at the moment she turned to face him again, that the unpleasant strike to the jaw hit her directly. "Ugh.!" She stumbled back a good few feet roughly, nearly tripping over her feet in the process, though somehow luck kept her standing and able to recompose herself quickly enough. The tentacles did loosen, but only for a moment. Was that moment enough to release him? The look in her eyes showed that small worry. "Just go down, and accept defeat! YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT!" As always, her mouth was always so much bigger then her brain!

"We face the king of demons, the monster that once ruled all Magvel.
He's more powerful than any one of us here. But we have something that beast will never have.
We have community, friendship, love... We have all the virtues of humanity.
That is our weapon. That is our strength.
Is everyone ready? We're going to win."

As the punch connected, and his wrists were bound together, he had to act quickly--and he did. Before she stumbled back too much, he forced himself up, using the fact that the bindings were more loose for a moment to slip the tentacle that bound his wrists over her head and around her throat. And using that, he yanked her back down to her prior position straddling him--keeping her there so she would have a more difficult time escaping his counterattack. He turned his hands slightly as he did this so he could grasp the tentacle, pulling on it to increase the pressure applied to Trinity's throat. And it wouldn't allow her to simply retract the tentacle away--she would have to make it vanish to free herself. At least, that was his thought process--he didn't know if she had some other method to escape this. He just had to take the chance he had, otherwise his defeat would have been all but certain. Even now she was still in the lead, but he wasn't out just yet.

Maybe next time she should take less interest in the people watching and being noisy, and pay more attention to her opponent? Yeah. That may of kept her in a serious winning motion, but now, it seemed she was starting to slip, just as her own tentacle was slipped around her neck. If the moment wasn't so fire, she would probably taken the position she was once again in as a good muse of joking to fluster him a little. It was also a little difficult to talk, or breath with the pressure against her throat! Her hands reached up, attempting to pull at the magical tentacle to no luck. Strong magic, even if it was her own!
She slowly released it, and as he suspected, all of the tentacles vanished in a bust of darkness, and in that moment as the dark energy remained in the air around them, she took the moment to slam her fist into his head, in attempt to knock him out. "Sleep!"

The fact that she was grasping at the tentacles at least proved she didn't have absolute control over them--she obviously had a lot of control, but she couldn't just rip it out of his grip with her thoughts alone. That was a good sign. She was still a demon, though, and a powerful one--he would need to stay prepared for any surprises she might have up her sleeve.
As he felt the constrictions around his body vanish, though, he knew his supposition had been correct--it was either all or nothing. He didn't waste any time forcing his body weight up in an attempt to turn the situation around...
And doing that brought his face directly into her fist at a rather high speed, before he could really move at all.
Well. That didn't go as he hoped. Him trying to jerk up only made the punch strike him harder, laying him out beneath her. His body went limp as she straddled him, letting out a pained groan as the back of his head laid back to rest in the sand below. His vision was rather blurry after that, but he wasn't unconscious--just... incredibly dazed. Literally all the momentum he had been building up was just utterly destroyed from something as simple as her fist in his face. "Guhhh..." He let out weakly, the defeated look in his eyes probably leading to great enjoyment for his foe. His body remained mostly limp aside from an occasional twitch--he didn't seem to be making any move to try to attack her. It seemed like he may actually be down for the count This was... rather humiliating...

Trinity's face fell into a small smirk as his head crashed back down into the ground after her fist made direct contact with it. "Feel good? You should just go to sleep for good. " All the fight in his eyes seemed to fade away, but she remained alert, despite not looking it. He was just as tricky as herself, and that meant she better keep aware of what he might try next. Playing at being defeated was a good way to lower an enemy's defenses. "Let's be sure all that fight in your eyes is really gone, no surprises now!" She grabbed his chin suddenly, only to slam his head back down into the ground. If only that ground was stone, or harder then what it was! The sand did make really knocking him out a small task, but maybe if she did it a few times it would eventually knock him out.

"Ghh..." Ephraim said, trying to shake his head a bit to shake out the dizziness. He couldn't seem to muster much of a response in his current state. His vision was still rather blurry, and his eyes only became a bit more alert as she gripped his chin, and he felt rather helpless to resist her as she slammed his head down into the sand. Luckily, sand was rather soft, so he wasn't in terrible immediate danger of being knocked unconscious. His hands came up to grip her one arm, attempting to pry it away from his chin... and to no avail. She would notice that he couldn't budge her arm at all--not even with the rather lackadaisical grip she had on his chin, and not even using both his arms. In this position, with her straddling him, and with him dazed and weakened as a result--it was then that he realized he had been defeated. He couldn't beat Trinity. Not now. He was utterly, completely at her mercy, and she wanted him unconscious. ...He had lost the battle, but he wanted to win the war, and the war wasn't against her, it was against the Reapers. But in order to do that, he needed to remain conscious. He swallowed hard--swallowing his pride--before lowering his arms, his entire posture taking that of pure submission. "...I submit!" He shouted, loud enough so that she, and everyone there, would hear him. "I surrender! You're too strong, Trinity, I... I'm no match for you." He raised his arms, slowly, holding his wrists together, offering to allow her to bind them with her tentacles again--a show of his submission, a show that he was genuinely giving in. The loud, excited cheering of the audience would fill the arena as their greatest foe was reduced to a defeated man before them--at the hands of Trinity. He believed Trinity's mood being raised by the cheering of the fans may lead to her showing mercy. But he... needed to do everything he could to try to ensure it. "Please... mercy... Please have mercy, Trinity! I'm no match for you, I see that now! Please..." God, he hated doing this. Even if it was relatively insincere, it still humiliated him to no end having to literally beg for mercy. But he remembered her saying this was one of the things she wanted to see him do. "I'll do whatever you want, just... no more..." He made a pretty good show of being defeated and submissive--and humiliated. Then again, it wasn't really a show--this was rather genuine. At least, it was genuine to her--he had accepted that he was defeated by her, and he wasn't going to try anything else against her. And even despite all this, there was no guarantee she wouldn't just knock him unconscious anyway--he WAS entirely at her mercy. But he had to try everything he could to keep that from happening. Even if she ordered him to do things to further humiliate himself, he'd have no choice but to comply. Otherwise, this humiliation was for nothing anyway.

"Hmm.." She almost looked suspicious of his behavior, wasn't this...to easy? Though he did seem pretty out of it, what with those nice hits to his head, even the toughest men would become dazed. "I must be worrying to much..haha..me..worry? I must be coming down with something.." She didn't worry about anything! Whatever, she should just enjoy this moment while it lasted. Standing up off him, she took a step away. "Since when did you become so submissive? So easy to give up? Gosh, this is pretty funny.." So funny ,that she thought of another way to humiliate him.by the magic of a picture, taken by her wonderful, cute pink phone with tiny bunny stickers and hearts of soft colors all over the back. So fierce. "Say "I, Ephraim, am a weak fool who lost to Trinity Wolve!" It was safe to say she was also recording him, with his hands held up to offer her to bind them again. "This is the great hero, Ephraim. Giving in so easily! --- Your twin SISTER wouldn't give in so quickly, she's probably more of a fighter then you. Something to find out when i'm really bored.."
She decided however, against binding his wrists with the tentacles again, to much work for such a weak fool, right? She'd rather not waste useful energy to create more. Instead, she slapped them away, only to stomp her foot against his chest, keeping him down a moment longer while still recording. "Well, he's down! Someone take him away, I'd rather have my reward now!" She was in for a bit of a disappointing surprise, the Reaper who promised her that power wasn't actually there at all, having decided to skip out on that promise before she realized it.

Velora

"Ahaha... Quite the show." Velora's voice came as she appeared there beside Trinity. "It looks like who the b***h is has been decided, hasn't it, dear father?" She said with a smirk. She didn't expect Trinity to win, honestly--and she was almost certain that if Ephraim had been armed at all, she wouldn't have. But that's why she didn't give him a weapon, after all. He wasn't going to win, and she would make sure of that. Even if he had beaten Trinity, he would have to fight more until eventually he succumbed. That's something he realized too, which is why he decided it was best to submit here. Trinity was the perfect one to lose to because she had no interest in enslaving him, and that wasn't something that would likely be shared with his other opponents. Something in the back of her mind was telling her that something was off here. It seemed too easy... She knew he was stronger than this. ...But he was unarmed, so... perhaps she was simply overthinking it. "Holly,"
To her side, a masked woman with long blonde hair appeared. "You called, mistress."
"His master will have to be decided later. For now, you can take him to..." Her face tensed up. She was underestimating him. That was exactly what led to Krul's defeat at his hands time and time again. "...Take your Alpha Squad and escort him to the dungeon."
"What? My entire...? Mistress, forgive me, but that seems unnecessary. He's just a human, and a defeated one at that."
Velora turned to her, grabbing her roughly by the face. "No, he is not." She said seriously, a look in her eyes telling her that she better stop that line of thinking immediately. She released her. "That way of thinking is exactly what made the Reapers such failures before. But I'm in charge now, and our victory begins now, with him. Do not underestimate him. Do not underestimate his kind. Underestimating your foe is the easiest way to lose." Ephraim was somewhat proud that his daughter was so intelligent--she thought the exact same way he did about that. However, it was certainly unfortunate that she did. Things were so much easier when Krul was in charge.
"...Understood, mistress. Forgive my speaking out of turn."
"Oh, that's quite all right. It's hard to stay mad at such a cutie." She winked, turning to face Trinity now...
Alpha Squad, on me. A group of five Reapers appeared alongside Holly now, all practically oozing a powerful, malefic aura. This was clearly some elite squadron. "We're to escort the prisoner to the dungeon." The five glanced among each other, all nodding after a moment. They also thought this task beneath them, but realized there must be some greater reason. Holly put her foot beneath Ephraim, lifting it harshly to force him onto his back, before planting her boot onto the back of his head, pushing his face into the sand. "Stay there, human. If you try anything, you will regret it." She nodded at one of the others, a shorter girl with blonde hair, who nodded back, getting down to straddle Ephraim's back and force his hands together to bind his wrists.
"Quite the charming group, huh? They're the ones who ambushed Ephraim and brought him here in the first place~" Viola grinned at Trinity. "We have a lot of fresh faces since Krul was the queen. A lot of her loyalists left with her, but we're so much stronger now. Fresh faces also means no lingering loyalty to that shortsighted fool." She was very kind to her dear mother, wasn't she? "Now then, that reward you were promised... I don't know who lied to you, but there was no extra reward on the table today. H-o-w-e-v-e-r, we're friends, aren't we? So in the name of our friendship, and for doing such a great job with his domination, I can offer you a little something special." She raised her hand, snapping her fingers together, and materializing a... strange, featureless mass that floated just above her palm. It was a strange power, one that flowed with several different colors shimmering and dulling with each passing nanosecond--impossible to describe properly. One thing that was certain is that the small mass projected a very, VERY potent aura of raw power. It was... almost suffocating being so close to it. "This is... a fragment of the power left behind by the Beast. You remember it, don't you? After its defeat, its power was scattered to the far reaches of the world. Ten pieces, all with ten percent of the power it had. And this is the gift I'm prepared to bestow to you." Ten percent seemed like only a small fraction, but given how absurdly powerful the Beast had been, even that was enough to amplify most people's power tenfold, if not more. Had Trinity accepted this gift, Velora would push the mass towards her chest, pushing it in, and the mass would slide straight in with no resistance.
Trinity would feel... indescribable. The amount of power that would surge through her body would be unlike anything she had ever experienced before. The power she had displayed moments before would feel like that of a toddler compared to what she had now. "You'll feel a surge of power now," that was an understatement. "But you won't quite grasp the full extent of this power immediately. You'll need to give it some time to settle into your body to really reach the new extent of your power." Meaning even all the power granted to her now wasn't all she was going to get from this boon. "Ooh, I just love making a powerful girl even stronger." Her grin widened. "And there's more boons to be acquired where that came from... if you're willing to do more for me." She took a step back. "Ephraim has friends--others with Sacred Twins--but those aren't a big concern of mine yet. My conquest is inevitable--it begins so very soon. I will trample upon every one of them on my path to conquest. But right now... I want Ephraim's son, Reiner, to be brought here. He has a very curious path ahead of him, and I want him here. I have big plans for my dear half-brother." Velora seemed to be rather full of plans and plots didn't she? That only went to show how dangerous she was. "You can choose to turn this down, if you'd like. I can have my agents try to collect him, but I feel like you might want to flex that new power of yours. My agents currently place him in Kalm. He's staying at the Inn, apparently." She had three agents around him now, but she'd prefer they be used for the bigger incoming mission--an invasion. If she could get Trinity to collect Reiner while all her people were on the invasion force, that would be ideal. "So, what do you say? If you don't want to, I understand--but remember, there's more waiting for you if you continue to help me out~"

"Heh. you're pretty cool. So cold to your own dad. I couldn't even be like that to mine, and I like to consider myself totally cool! Don't you think? " She ran her hand through her hair in a 'cool' motion, that confidant look was back! "Haha, you just love your parents.Kidnap one, and kill the other. " Even though Krul was back, but still!
Her face fell a moment, did she just say she was not getting any award? Oh boy, had she ever found the lying Reaper, she would have that one regretting it's lying mouth! Fortunately, she didn't have to long to stay angry, thanks to her new best friend. "...Wait, what? Did you say this is part of the Beast? ...This power you have with you, power from the Beast that nearly destroyed the world.....and you'd....give it to me?!" Was it possible to have a dream come true? Cause Velora surely was about to make that happen."...OhwowIthinkILoveYou!" Crazy Trinity. She didn't need to answer rather she wanted this power or not, it was pretty clear how much she was practically drooling over it.
The experience of the power flowing into her was, like nothing she ever felt before. And how badly, so quickly, she wanted to go play with it. Her body shivered with excitement, this was quite the new experience for her. No more chasing down power for a good while, until she craved even more. Only Trinity was one to be so greedy! "Will it settle faster the more a fight? Maybe if I put more losers down, it will be completely full! "
Tilting her head, she listened to what Velora had to say. She definitely had Trinity's attention! "Hmmm...More fun to have..? Um, of course you can count me in! Though, why in the world do you want his son? He seems pretty scrawny to me. Such a happy thing, I doubt you'll find much use for him...But..! If that's what you want...I'll snag him for ya. "
For the time being, she would return to her normal human girl form, putting up a little grin as she stood there anxiously awaiting anymore requests. "Anything else? One scrawny boi, nothing else? Not even Ice-Cream?! " She was always and forever, a strange girl.

"Of course, you're the coolest demon I know." Velora said with that same grin of hers. "Well, I don't dislike my parents. I received potent genetic gifts from both of them, and for that I am grateful. But whoever stands in the way of my conquest will end up being trampled beneath me. That's how it has to be. My mother was too shortsighted, and my father would never stand at my side. They posed the biggest threats to my conquest, but for now, they're threats no longer. Sacrifices must be made, or the world won't change." She had rather radical viewpoints, it seemed. But what she said wasn't entirely untrue. And she clearly had the power and influence to follow through on her beliefs now. It was funny though, to have it pointed out to her just how badly she had treated both her parents. Oh well...
Her grin widened as Trinity's excitement grew. "The very same~" She giggled as Trinity's reaction was like a child on Christmas morning. It was so adorable. "Goodness, if I knew that's all it took to get a confession out of such a cutie, I would've done this a long time ago!" She said, obviously just being playful. She knew Trinity probably wasn't into girls, and she respected that. "I do hope one day you'll consider becoming one of us. The entire world could become your enemy, but you'll always have a family here. Don't forget that. But of course, that's true even if you don't become one of us~" She wasn't one to discriminate based on racial differences--that would make her entire ideology wildly hypocritical.
And soon thereafter, Trinity had accepted her little gift. Velora was happy to see her so excited, it was always so cute seeing Trinity so bubbly. She didn't seem like a demon at all. And things like that only served to drive Velora forward with her motivation even more. "Most likely. The best way to break in a new car is to test it out, right? I bet the power will settle into you even faster if you flex it a little!" Plus, who didn't love to go rushing into fight when they got new power? She clapped her hands together as Trinity accepted, smiling. "I can always count on you! A word of caution, though; don't underestimate him. He's a lot more skilled than he may seem. He's not as strong or skilled as his father, but he WILL be armed, and he won't be exhausted like Ephraim was." Being ambushed previously would do that, and fighting unarmed certainly didn't help Ephraim any. So while Ephraim was certainly a much bigger threat generally speaking, Reiner could still pose a very serious threat. "As for why I want him, I'll let you in on it later. It's a very... interesting situation to say the least. I have more half siblings than I realized." Her grin turned into a smirk. "And there's a peculiar destiny waiting for us. Even a goddess doesn't know what's really going to happen... but I'm not a fan of "destiny." I prefer to stranglehold fate into doing what I want." Her words probably sounded pretty crazy without proper context, but that context could be provided later.
"Well, if you'd like to pick up some ice-cream, don't let me stop you." She said, her expression returning to her smile. "But if you want to hear more--and this information is confidential--we're going to be invading Midgar very soon. You might have time to join in on the fun if you finish with Reiner quickly. This is the first step on my conquest. Now that Ephraim is finally out of the picture... I can finally begin." Her smile widened. "At last..." She had been preparing for so long, biding her time, doing things stealthily, drawing as little attention to the Reapers as possible... And soon... it would finally pay off.

Trinity's face lit up, sometimes it was almost impossible to tell that this cute face was hiding some real evil behind it. She could never be suspected as a demon when she was in human form, her entire personality often changed to match her 'innocent human' form. She was very bubbly and full of energy, even loud. The devils tower was never to quiet when she was around, and sadly that was quite often. At least until now! Velora just literally brought her to life, and she wasn't going to waste it sleeping all day long in her comfy, squishy bean-bag of the heavens. It took a moment to calm herself down from the excitement, she should probably shake that off if she wanted to continue talking properly, huh? Trinity. Talking properly. Ha! Right. "Ohhh, so, what will you do with ol'Ephie-boy? Keep him locked up in the dungeons for a while? But don't you think his friends will show up? What of his sister? Twins have some crazy connection, she might try to poke you with that toy of hers if she manages to get into this realm..worse if it's his irritating lover with the loud mouth..." A toy that would really hurt the both of them, yeah. "Is there anyway they can get here to rescue him? "

"Ahaha.." Trinity grinned. Well, she wasn't very good with the flirting world, especially with girls, but it was amusing non the less! "S-so slow you are!! " She teased back, her small studder showing just how bad she was at this! It also made it pretty clear she was just being playful too."Hmmm. I mean, it's something to think about...I'm not promising' anything though. I prefer sweets over blood.." She said jokingly, though , it kind of was true! As he went on to warn her of the potential danger Reiner may end up being, she just...shrugged it off with a smirk. "Heh, he's just a teenager, a teenager who likes every girl he see's. This should be easy as taking candy from a baby-----something i've done before! " She sounded so proud of that! She paused a moment, listening to what more she had to say. Oh boy, this was sounding so very exciting. "Oh, I should have him to you before you start this invasion. Just don't start without me! I want in too! " She winked at her, before lifting her hand into a wave. "Bye-bye, next time you see me, I'll have you a nice green gift! " And with that said,.....she realized....she couldn't teleport out of the realm. Oh yeah, so slick, so cool... "....Uh...I uh...can't seem to leave....Can you send me there? " That sounded so silly. Here she was, acting so cool, only to be unable to teleport out of the realm on her own! Darn realm lock...thing..!

"Welllll..." Velora put a finger to her chin. "It's something of a difficult situation. I want to find him a nice Reaper master to serve, a master who will break him. Show him the pleasures of being the slave of a Reaper, so that he'll never fight us again. But he does have a very strong will. It would be quite a process... The longer a slave spends with their master Reaper, the more inclined they are to want to serve them and remain their slave. This is what happened with Kaden Wolve, for instance... The stronger the Reaper is, the quicker that influence pulls on their mind. My mother was the strongest Reaper there has ever been. If only she were here, and was willing to follow me. She would be perfect to master him. The seeds of her influence have already been planted into his mind." She sighed melodramatically. If only things could be so perfect! Krul was the only one who could potentially break him within a reasonable time, or at least Velora believed that. "Besides, they'd be cute together! Imagine, me, my mother, and my father, all on the same side, fighting for the same thing. Ahaha.... a seemingly impossible dream..." Her eyes turned somber for a moment despite her smile as she said that. It was rather surprising just how much she longed for a loving family like that. For her mother and father to be together. In spite of everything, she did love them. She wanted them to love her, too. For them to be together. ...But she supposed things couldn't always be so perfect. She knew Ephraim had lingering feelings for Krul, but she had no idea how her mother's heart felt. "A-anyway, uh... right. His friends. I've been performing covert operations for months now, drawing as little attention to us as possible, but capturing Ephraim is the turning point. I'm fine with them coming now, because I'm prepared. Not that they have any reliable way to enter this realm. But if they do, we'll be ready." There were SO many Reapers here now, and they were all being intensely trained in both martial skill and military tactics. The likelihood of a rescue as they used to happen were incredibly slim. "Not that it matters. I intend to trample and capture all of them before they have the chance to mount any initiative." Ephraim was the most threatening, and with his capture, she felt a lot more safe about pressing the attack.
"Ehehehe, you're so cute." Velora poked her in the nose. "Some boy will be very lucky to be with you one day. Cuteness and strength rarely come packed together so well!" She grinned. "Oh, but why not both? Blood is a lot more enjoyable than you might think. Especially if it's the blood of someone powerful. My mother used to mention how divine the Beast's blood was. Oh, what I wouldn't give to have sampled that..." Krul had been one of the few to get the advantage over the Beast once, which only further showed how severe of a threat she really was. As much as Velora liked to poke fun at her for being "stupid," she would be beyond terrified to fight her head-on. There was a reason she relied on a ruse to usurp the throne to begin with.As she talked about Reiner, Velora had to bring up a hand to cover her giggling. It was so funny how she said that. "Oh, Trinity, are you planning to seduce him? Ehehehhe! Honestly, that could probably work. Not like he's ever even so much felt the touch of a girl before. And what boy could resist you?" She giggled again. "I'll do my best to wait for you, but don't dally too long, cutie~ I want to press the initiative while we've still got this momentum." Capturing Ephraim, and watching him get so thoroughly beaten and humiliated, had raised Reaper morale to an all-time high. One could practically feel the excitement and energy in the air of this realm. "Well, since you asked so nicely." She grinned, poking her on the nose again. "Be careful~" She said, and in the next moment, Trinity would vanish from the realm, appearing in front of the Inn in Kalm.

"Ah well... Sorry, Trinity, but you'll have to join in late." Velora said to herself as she came to stand in a large, layered command deck, a sizable screen in front of her. On it was a direct, live feed of several different areas of Midgar--several different street corners, but in addition to that, direct feeds inside of the Shinra Building and Avalanche Mansion. "Oh look, my cute little half-sister is bothering Sephriea. How cute." She grinned. Her eyes scanned the screen several times over, the screen minimizing and enlarging different feeds based on her eye's motion. She had tested this several times, of course, all in preparation for the day it all began. And that was going to be today. "Sorry, little sister. This might ruin your bubbly mood a bit."
Prepare to mobilize. Every Reaper who was on the invasion force--which was roughly 96% of all Reapers here, would receive that mental message, and within moments she would receive confirmation in return. The quicker we can manage to overtake them, the less of a threat they'll pose. There was quite literally no way anyone would be prepared for what was to come--she had been meticulous to make sure nothing about this plan would leak, and that no one would suspect the Reapers were up to anything. Even Ephraim's ambush had been coordinated to happen on the same day as the invasion so there was no chance of word spreading fast enough for anyone to grow wary. The Reapers had all but vanished from the public's mind for the better part of a year.
And soon that would change.
Invasion begins in ten seconds. Wait for my signal. She crossed her arms, staring at the screen and running calculations and strategy in her head as she assessed the situation. ...Now. Commence the invasion. And in the very next moment, the massive amount of presences within in the realm would drop substantially--leaving only Velora and a select few others still in the realm as they all made their way to the other side en masse. Velora's grin widened. "Let's start the show..."

"..." Ephraim's eyes moved constantly--inspecting every area he passed for anything he could use to his advantage, either to escape now or for when he came back through. As horribly humiliating as it had been in the moment, he was quite pleased with his decision now--choosing to lose how he did afforded him this opportunity. Had he been knocked unconscious, he likely would've woken up in the dungeon, locked away. This time he had an opportunity to prevent that.
The steps of the Alpha Squad were adjacent to his own, as the entire 4-person squad stayed close to him. That part was a shame--Velora was too smart to leave him with only one or maybe two captors. There must have been something pressing for her to not handle this personally. And considering how empty this place seemed... "There must be a birthday today." He said sarcastically.

"Quiet." Holly warned.
She was trained well. She didn't let anything slip. But this couldn't be a coincidence. There were SO many more Reapers here than last time he was here--when Krul was in charge. He would've almost certainly run across at least a few on his way, and the entire area was dead quiet compared to how it had been only moments before. Couple that with the fact that he was ambushed and brought here on this day specifically... something was off.
"You are thinking far too much." The low, childlike voice of the younger blonde girl came out. "Know your place. What is or isn't happening is no concern of yours. You are a slave now. You should accept that fact."
"So something is happening."
"Unbelievable. Can't we just knock him out already? We're missing the invas-"
"Quiet!"
"Ah, an invasion." Ephraim nodded. "I see. Midgar? Marvel? Where's the lucky place?"
"Shut your mouth! Do you not remember what just happened to you in the arena?"
"I do. I remember how a demon was brought in to fight against me instead of a Reaper. But I understand. You were all too scared. I don't blame you."
"Listen here, stupid human," Ephraim felt something prod lightly at his back, and rather effortlessly sear through the back of his armor. "Do you feel this? This is an anti-matter blade. It can cut through anything like it's wet paper. That includes your flesh, your bones, and anything else you hold dear. If I were you, I'd shut my stupid mouth and obey." She pulled the blade away from his back, feeling her point was sufficiently made.
"..." Ephraim cleared his mind and focused. He needed to be very careful here... God... that felt so good... He thought to himself, sounding as excited as he mentally could. I... I really hope she... does that again...
"...Pft." The smaller-framed one let out a condescending chuckle. "Really? For all the praise and fear that Reapers have given you for so long... for how often you defeated Krul... you're actually just a disgusting little masochist! This is too perfect. Why did you ever oppose us?! I'm sure Krul would've enjoyed having you as her little b***h. Ahahaha... Stupid humans with their pathetic little fetishes." She covered more condescending laughter. She stepped in front of him, putting her hands on her hips. "You know, you've been a constant thorn in our side, and it's thanks in part to you that Velora came into existence. Most Reapers would be happy to make you their slave. Would you like that? Would you like to be a little b***h? Come on--get down on your knees and worship me. You know you want to." Her expression turned to that of a condescending, pleased smirk. "Down to where you belong." Holly let out an exasperated sigh, putting a hand to her hip. This was quite the diversion, but whatever. It might be amusing to watch.
Ephraim lowered his head, glancing around. Trying to make himself seem as nervous and uncertain as he could. "I... I'm not a masochist. I... I don't..."
The small-framed girl practically threw her head back in condescending, haughty laughter. "Look at him trip over his words! Are you nervous that I found your little secret? You stupid b***h. I can read your tiny little mind. My ability to read minds is far greater than that of my peers. Your secrets are mine, and if you're lucky, you will be, too. I heard everything. You enjoyed it when she prodded you with that thick, hot thing of hers, didn't you?" She licked her lips, intentionally making that sound as lewd as she could. "You can't hide the truth from me...~" Ephraim would feel as the anti-matter blade brushed against part of his skin, singing his hair and lightly burning his skin. He shuddered in response, causing more laughter from the Reaper in front of him. "You humans are so easy. How is that? Ready to kneel and accept your place?"
"Oh, that... yeah... that'll do." Without warning, he threw his weight forward, going into a frontward roll and in the process using that blade that was so close to him to cut straight through the cuffs that bound his wrists. The short Reaper before him screeched as he came right in front of her, crouched from the roll. "Still want to be my master?" He grabbed her by the throat, slamming her skull against the stone nearby, putting her straight on the floor. He quickly dodged the blade that nearly met him in response, taking a few steps back.
"!!" Holly summoned two wicked-looking claws to the top of her hands. "Fools!!" She shouted.
"You did allow it to happen." Ephraim pointed out. While he was outnumbered and still unarmed, he still liked these chances better than in the arena, with Velora watching. And with some grand invasion happening, he was willing to bet her attention was fully on that--if there was ever a chance to try to move through the realm undetected, it would be now.

"Guh!" Holly was sent back skidding on her feet several feet, forcing herself to an abrupt stop before raising her head, facing the human who had been enchained only moments before. "..." Her squad had all been laid out--they were fearsome Reapers, but overconfidence, underestimation, and Ephraim's own skill and strength allowed him to get the upper hand. "I see now why my queen was so insistent not to underestimate you." She said from beneath her mask, scraping her claws together as she stared at the teal-haired king.[/color[
"A valuable life lesson," he said simply in response. "I do so enjoy the "humans are beneath me" speech right before people like your friends are defeated by me or someone like me. Velora is smart enough not to underestimate anyone--that's something she and I have in common."
"Indeed... it is. I see now you share many traits. Why do you oppose her? She wants peace. She wants everyone to be equal."
"She wants peace through subjugation. That's an ideal I could never support." He said without a moment's hesitation. He had caught the gist from his sparse interactions with her. "People should be free to choose for themselves."
"Free to choose hatred? Free to choose discrimination?"
"If that's what they decide, yes," he tilted his head. "No matter what symbol of hatred rises up, someone like me, or Cloud, or so many others--we'll always be there to stamp it out."
"Too reactionary. Why wait for turmoil when we could stop it at the roots? Is giving up some freedom not worth true peace?"
"It isn't."
"..." She sighed. "I suppose it isn't my job to debate these things with you. I see now why my queen saw you as such a threat, though. She didn't want you to die, but your life's continued existence only serves to put her entire ideal into jeopardy. If you can't kneel and submit, I will do what I must."
Ephraim uncrossed his arms, facing her down with no hesitation. "Then let's get to it."
Holly nodded in response. She expected nothing less. "Then die, King Ephraim. I will remember you as the worthy warrior you were." She sprinted towards him, her body seeming to spasm slightly for a single moment, before her entire body began to glow red. This, of course, caught Ephraim's attention, but he had to dodge the incoming slash from her claw regardless. The moment after slashing, though, she vanished, and Ephraim felt a weight slam into him, knocking him onto the ground. It seemed she had split herself into two different places--or something of the such. Really, she created a haze of herself that was focused on a single task--slashing Ephraim--before it would dissipate, and her real body appeared behind him and knocked him over. He spun over onto his back just in time to see the Reaper woman get down to straddle him, lunging at his throat with her claws. He reacted quickly enough, grabbing both of her wrists to stop the attack, and they began to struggle. "...!!" She growled, pressing into him. "Just... submit...!!" He was stronger than she had expected, even with everything she had seen.
