He let out a long, content sigh when the bandage wrapped around his waist, sending warm healing waves throughout his body until he felt almost himself again. " God you make me feel good." He admitted, now absolutely sure that being in love with the person you healed made you more powerful. Science. He headed for the sound of the groan, Jezebel twirling dangerously in front of him, even though all she wanted to do was squeal about how Svensyl wanted to kiss me, oooooh - and all he wanted to do was stuff a virtual sock in her mouth about it. The weapon stopped twirling when it sank purely by mistake into a fleshy chest, and he pulled her out to begin a quick and violent carving. "WOO!" It felt good to fight again. Hearing how he spoke of how she made him feel caused a warmth to spread over her skin without any aid from a bandage, but the significant blush remained hidden in the low light. Mimsy wanted to pull him back to her and earn that sentence a thousand times over. While she was always eager to fight for his attention when necessary, she was capable of recognizing scenarios in which this would be a terrible idea. His safety was important if his attention was ever going to return to her, after all. She kept a vigilant watch on all that she could see of him, watching closely to know if he'd been struck by it. A fraction of a second after she saw it make any contact with his body whatsoever, she hurriedly pressed a small bandage in the exact location, effectively negating anything it hoped to do to him. "More, more," she urged him, eyes wide at the sound of the infected flesh being sliced into pieces. "You're so impressive!" With nothing else to go by but the light of his own weapon and the green glowing eyes slowly moving his way, he moved closer. He could hear shouts and yelling and wasn't sure if being out in the open was the best idea though fighting zombies wasn't a great one either.
Closer now, he could hear it make noises. Not breathing as he doubted it needed it but maybe just a reflex. Still, the hunter aimed and with one more shot, the creature dropped.
He decided to head back to the camp and where he was hearing the shouts.

Was this how they were supposed to be like as they progressed through the ranks in the months and years to follow? Nellie found herself wondering, still pretty much in a daze as she watched Leslie pause to flash the middle finger at the nearest security camera before going for another round at clobbering the armoured infected like a berserker. They should jump into the fray at some point too. Both Isaac and her. Even if their blows weren't anywhere as effective as that of the more senior Mist.
Gingerly helping Isaac with getting his weapon unstuck, Nellie gestured towards the lights that were starting to go off one by one around them. "Need to hurry. It's starting to get dark..." They probably wouldn't have any difficulty targeting the infected in the dark given its size. It was really more of what might happen thereafter that she was more worried about. It was never a good thing whenever the lights went out.

"You want me to do it again?" Robert huffed out, the excitement in his voice blossoming back to life. "Hold on a second," Jezebel wasn't enough anymore, and he held the zombie at weapon's length with the tip of the weapon against it's chest, ignoring how it writhed arms at him and slowly sank into the weapon just by moving. He grabbed the runic torch out of his back pocket, smacked it against his leg, and expertly turned it on. The area blazed with an eerie blue light, which he handed over to Mimsy. "Okay. You want this. You got this." He growled, his grin morbid and a little horrifying in the light of the runic torch. The weapon pulled out of the hole the zombie had been forcing itself into, and began slicing afresh. Shu was the kind of person that was the opposite of intimidating, her smile was warm and amiable, just felt like a docile lovable bunny. "Buck, Linda, Josh and David, nice to meet you." Jordan's words were always that wise, the petite Death thought. He took into account not only their clandestine identity, but gave a general idea of what was happening and ended his explanation with a hidden threat. The Sun hunter, in that way, put the concept of authority into the civilians' minds. When one's incapable, they rely to the nearest source of power. The girl smiled respectfully for how deep he had contemplated, it surely made their job much easier. "We will do our job, don't worry, Sensei." The two Sun at the front, Shu and Roland at the back of the group and sandwiched them in between. They encircled the armless civilians, to impart a sense of safety and confidence to themselves. To ease the tensed-up nerves of the lady and her son, Shu began to chat with them, of random casual topics while paying attention to the surroundings. She was an intermediate, and the experiences built up and skills learned through the time allowed her to do so. "No idea," she whispered to Roland, head leaned over. She gave a pause, and shortly asked with surprise, "YOU didn't grab a map?" Tone unbelievable, the girl widened her eyes at Roland. It was uneventful until - - the lights went out, as if someone switched them off one by one, agitation gradually accumulated. Shu was oddly calm, the basement was always so dimly lit and she wasn't afraid of the darkness. She'd being locked in a dark confined room, has some bad times and it didn't worth mentioning. Yet, it wasn't the deprivation of light that make her scared, but the status of being alone in darkness. As a Pisces, she thinks a lot; in the darkness alone, she thinks even more. It wasn't some fantasy or dreamy bubbles, they were negative thoughts immersed into her soul soundlessly sneakily. "Shhhhh, don't scream, don't panic, okay? We need a light source, anyone has a torch?" asked Shu. The visibility was zero at that moment and it was the easiest time for people to lose control. The hand not holding the hammer tugged Roland's clothes with a gentle force and she'd walked closer to the hunter, compared to when the lights were still on. ======== HP: 16/ 50 Charge: 2/3 Quote: ShuDeath Intermediate: 2d10-4 (usable 12 times) Weapon: Hammer - Melee Melee weapons are super effective against ARMOURED type infected, do double damage on this type!

Back at camp, techs and hinters moving bringing injured and strengthening barricades. As he got near, a tech from the runic department waves him over.
"Mel-vine. Come. Runics failing. We need to reinforce." Dallen said, his German accent thick and rushed.
The man handed him a carving bag and pointed hastily at the runic barriers glowing faintly in the dark.
"Like repairing a fence." He said to himself but saw Dallen was already gone.
Waling the line, he bent down to start carving a weak stone. Usual he carved in private and on peace which allowed him to concentrate. It was dark, loud, and even though there were hunters, he felt exposed. Still, he managed to carve a perfect rune and it glowed bright once more.

It had not at all occurred to Mimsy that light might be helpful here, and when Robert reached to retrieve one, she felt a bit sheepish for not considering this particular need. Still, she was happy to accommodate any need he might have, and was waiting to take it from him as soon as he handed it to her. Naturally, the first thing she did was point it in his general direction so she could see him more clearly. An expression that was 'morbid and a little horrifying' was nothing of the sort to her, who instead found the look he gave to be alluring and really dreamy. "Yes! Yes, more! I want it!" A sound that was presumably meant to be a squeal of delight pierced the space between her cheers and the application of the next bandage, which was accompanied by a brief stare of defiance at the infected. There was no need to keep that up for long - when he struck it again she filled the air with wild, high-pitched giggling instead. "Alright," the man skipped forward to stay with Jordan. Head leaned near the Sun hunter's ears, he asked, "Where did you learn that art of speech? It's great. Look, they're as docile as sheep now." The Sun trainee idly swayed his long scythe, Catherine was shining with mirror sheen again. < I feel alive again~♡> She hummed an enchanting melody at the back of Ace's mind, sending waves and waves of delectation out. "Jordan, you remember the way out?" He asked, occasionally checked the people behind him. He'd unfolded the map and studied by his own, when the lights were taken ********. Is that the crescendo coming?" He felt like they were getting close to the climax of a thrilling zombie movie and his instincts seldom get wrong. "Why there's no announcement from our dear Rep? Did he get in trouble as well? I guess we've to move faster." The conversation with Jordan was interrupted by Shu, who asked if any of them possess a torch. "Sorry dear, not me." he shrugged in the dark, even no one couldn't see that. "Jordan?" Depends on the hunter's reply, they'd have to stop by nearby store to raid one or two. ======== HP: 29/ 40 Charge: 1/3 Prolixity Quoting because Ace's with Jordan at the moment. "Down this hall, to the right, and across the central atrium," Jordan answered. He led the way, watching carefully for signs of movement in the stores and decorative planters as they passed. Things rustled in darker corners, but nothing seemed eager to leap at them yet, and Jordan glanced back at the civilians periodically, assessing their mood. Shu was chatting with them, which was good; the small woman was the least threatening of their little group, and her sweet-tempered cheer might help put the humans at ease.
"A lot of observation," he replied to Ace's question, just as quietly, after a flick of his eyes back to make sure that the civilians were out of earshot. "They're terrified and they had no idea what to do, so they needed to feel like somebody had enough authority and knowledge to give them instructions, and they also needed to have a good reason to go with us."
When the lights started flickering out, one by one, he stopped, swinging Ferros down off his shoulder and holding the hammer out to the side as a signal to the rest of them to halt. Ferros's runes were lit steady and bright, but the red light was relatively dim and wouldn't reach far. "Not good," Jordan muttered, and reached into his bag to produce the small flashlight he carried and flick it on. "I was hoping to get this done before dark."
He flashed the light back at the group. "It'd be better if we could pick up a couple more flashlights. There's a sports store down the branching hallway here. There's also an electronics store along the path we're taking, but that's farther away. The sports store is closer, but it'll require a detour and it's a larger area; more likely to have something hiding in it." He looked to the other hunters. "I don't want to split up when we've got people to protect. Thoughts?"

Having his back to the dark made him nervous and he kept glancing to the corner of his vision where shadows and green eyes moved about. Lookin back to the stine he was working on, he sighed.
He had to focus or else the camp would be nothing but dull runes thanks to him.

: Roland had to admit, he liked the little group they had, everyone took up the position he had suggested and Jordan had started to lead them off down through the mall once he laid out the plan of where they would have to go to get back to the Ice Ring. Shu was being, well Shu, and for once it was possibly the best thing they could ask for, her happy tone low and soft keeping the civilians engaged as they moved slowly through the mall. After a while Shu leaned over regarding his question about the map.
His only response was to shrug at her a bit, "I was in the back halls, maintenance and restricted areas, we didn't have intel on those readily available, they aren't exactly listed on the public maps." Everything was going okay, that is until the lights started to shut down. Each one seemed to flicker off with a thundering pound of silence, the faint buzz of their power fading away as the mall plunged into darkness, a cackling soud off in the distance.
"Not yet Ace, this is just the start of it," he raise Sylvia her runes and large stone glowing a weary ocean shade, no brighter then Ferros. "Rep's probably just as busy dealing with infected or getting other survivors rounded up in the safe zone. He'll be back soon, it hasn't been too long."
Jordan turned pointing his light to the group and Roland quickly held up his hand to save what little night vision he had, his eyes darting out into the darkness, all the little sounds growing all the more stressful as the darkness concealed them.
"I'm for the sports store, they usually have those nice LED lights right by the registers and they should be in good packages that would have kept any infected crap from getting on them." With that in mind he let Jordan continue to lead.
----
The sports store was just as Roland hoped, the only problem was the registers where located a bit further into the store. "s**t we'll have to go in, and you're right splitting up is the last thing we should do." Slowly the group made their way in, the registers weren't that far in, but it was still farther in then Roland had hoped to go. Quickly he started to grab lights off the shelves getting one for each member of the group and four extras just to be safe slitting the package open with Sylvia's tip much to her objections about 'being used like a common pair of scissors'. "Okay guys we got light we can start getting..."
There was a laugh from further in the store. The sound wasn't natural, it was disturbing the way the voice howled with laughter. The figure slowly appeared moving between the racks of clothing heading closer to them. Roland fumbled with his light pointing it towards the shambling figure shuffling forward, at first she wasn't paying attention.
And then her eyes locked vision with Roland's and she rushed in.
"Incoming! I'll take the defense! CRUSH IT!" He barely got the words out throwing his flashlight to the ground for a bit more light as he took Sylvia in both hands, it wass fast just like the one in the bathrooms, as soon as it leaped he pressed his weapon upp catching its hands and throwing it to the side towards the other hunters.Roland Stats: HP: 36/60 DMG: n/a Buff: Intermediate Moon HP Cap +10 and auto +2 Defense Rolls Charges 2/3 Weapon: Nimble Scythe - Double damage to speed types Gear: 5 flash lights, extras for others who might need them. Adjusting his glasses, he closed his eyes and counted down from 5. Even closing his eyes made him nervous and he opened them to stare at the runic only. Letting his eyes wander was not helping anything.
As he worked on the next runic, he tried not to listen or flinch at the noises around him. He tried not to hurry.
The result was a bright rune beaming back to life.

As if summoned by his words, the mall did, in fact, get quite dark. Horace cursed and pulled out his phone. He thumbed on the light when a disturbing noise filtered through the darkness. Something out there was laughing. Even worse, things were moving. He wished he'd swung by to pick up more supplies. People bustled around him, fortifying the base, and Horace began making a mental list. Vinegar, calcium tablets, flashlights, rubbing alcohol - he at least had his phone as a flashlight, and had one of those silly-looking headlamps (it changed between red, white, and blue!), but he didn't know how many people had nothing. And it really couldn't be counted as a light source, but the text on his shirt was glow-in-the-dark too. He'd passed some sort of drugstore on the way back to camp - but at the time, they'd have been more concerned with making it back alive.
"I'm gonna try an run out to grab some supplies before it gets even worse. Anybody need anything?" Horace grumbled, dimming the lgiht of his headlamp. New shoes would have to wait.
