Noticing the success one single Pidgey was having, another had flocked over to join in the torment of Korou.
Yusaki was trying to gain her feet, but she was unsteady enough on this ship without the added distraction of pidgeys.

The pidgey dodged both attacks, the one sent by Spirit and the one sent by Cara. It then came back around and scratched Cara for daring to use a Frying Pan. Cara glared at the bird as it flew back into the flock. She was clutching her frying pan tightly now, not giving up. "You're going down birds!"

Nope. This was getting her nowhere.
Korou was cringing under the assault of the two pidgeys, putting on only the barest show of a threatening growl.
Done in by tiny birds. Great gaurd dog she was.

As Cadence came to a stop inside the first balloon with Michelle and another girl she turned to look back at the chaos unfolding on the deck. Cara was still struggling to make it to the balloons and Cadence was half tempted to run back out and help her. However, Amaryllis was injured and she needed to bandage up her own wounds as well. She wouldn't be much help in this state. Instead she settled for waving to her friend and calling out "Cara! Over here!"Snowbelle Thundara Cadence is waiting in Balloon 1 for Cara smile

Whelp. Three Pidgeys were assaulting Korou.
The good news is Yusaki had her footing! The bad news is, she was dithering back and forth as to how to help her loyal Mightyena rather than actually doing anything.

Finally gritting her teeth, Yusaki plunged into the flock of Pidgey, dispersing them with flailing arms and a loud shout.
They fluttered off, alarmed by the sudden attacker.
Yusaki hooked her arm around Korou and helped get the Mightyena to her feet.
They were so close, they couldn't quit now!

The next swing of the frying pan hit home and sent the Pidgey flying dizzily back into its' flock. "HAH!! Take that you nasty little bugger!" She said, dashing closer to the balloons with Spirit. She was heading for the balloon with Cadence and Amaryllis in it. Spirit chirped in happiness at moving ahead, they were almost there!
Another pidgey came at them and Spirit shot a Signal beam at it, Cara readied her frying pan for it just in case the attack missed.

Like they could get off that easy.
Korou was staggering at this point, trying to regain her bearings after the brutal aerial assault.
Yusaki was trying to support the heavy Mightyena with one arm, leaving her only one free hand to try and shoo the Pidgey that had circled back away.

Sadly, Spirit's attack miss and Cara swung wide, giving the pidgey room to attack. It clawed at Cara's arms and flew off. Cara clutched her ravaged arms and looked back up, growling. She then looked over and saw Cadence in the first balloon. "We're coming Cadence!!" She called back.
Spirit attacked again, using sonic boom, trying to shock the birds away.

They were so close to the balloon, inching closer step by step.
But they were harried every single centimeter of that inch by the Pidgey. There was no way they'd make it there at this rate.
Korou glared balefully up at the offending Pidgey, trying to summon the energy for another snap.

Spirit's attack hit but it had the opposite effect of what she wanted. The pidgey she hit was only ticked off and came in and attacked her. She took the hit and fell back. Cara caught her and decided that trying to hit it with the frying pan would be the next best option.

Korou gathered her strength and with one powerful spring, smacked the Pidgey away, fangs flashing. That took care of that.
She landed heavily, but her second wind was with her now, and she stumbled into the balloon with Yusaki close behind.

The frying pan missed its mark and Cara was hit with another peck attack by the angry Pidgey. She decided they needed to try and dodge again, to get to the balloon. Cradling Spirit close to her, she tried to dive to the platform that had the balloons on it.

Cara just barely missed her mark and ended up hitting the flock of pidgey. "That...hurt." she said getting up. She held Spirit close, she didn't want her to take anymore damage. The last of the flock was still between her and Cadence's balloon so she decided to try and fight a bit more herself.

The pidgey just kept dodging the frying pan and hitting Cara with attacks, hitting Spirit here and there. She couldn't take it much more. Her arms were bleeding from all the scratches and cuts the Pidgey had delivered with their talons and Spirit was injured quite a bit too. She decided it was now or never and when she saw an opening in the flock, between herself and Cadence's balloon, she knew that might be her only chance. She shoved away her frying pan and went for it.
