Yacha looked up at the new figure addressing her with soulful red eyes. "The fragment told me I was bad," she said. She didn't know if it had been addressing her, not really, but it had sounded like it was. "Am I bad? The goddess asked us to collect fragments, but I don't want to be bad."

He had moved away from the crowd a bit, the better to hunt for the strange things, and he reached out to grab another. It practically fell into his hand, and this time, he was more prepared for the words that it relayed.
"Myr!!"
He still didn't understand what it meant.

Would the Goddesses tell them to do bad things? Of course not. "You are doing very good things, we were asked to do tasks and we should do them, right? Why would it be bad to do as we are asked...?"

"You think so?" Yacha asked hopefully. She unfolded herself from her discouraged huddle. "Should I not listen to the fragments, just the Goddess? Does that make sense?"

"Yes! The fragments cannot hurt you! At least not much. It is just ... energy." Atictel explained carefully. She hoped she was correct. As of yet the fragments hadn't hurt her or put her in any real danger. Some things happened when she picked them up but she'd never gotten harmed.
"You should do your tasks and that will make the Goddesses happy!" She prompted encouragingly, even offering a smile.

Yacha brightened. "I'll do that!" she exclaimed, and spontaneously hugged Actitel. "Thank you!"
Another fragment hung in the air nearby, and she grabbed at it in a flicker-quick motion. This one produced a scrap of wordless singing rather than another sharp admonition, and she relaxed.
She tilted her head a little and looked back at the one who'd comforted her. "Can I stay with you?" she asked. "It's not as scary when there's someone else."

Atictel seemed surprised at the hug but allowed it to happen. It was soothing, comforting to be embraced, she even leaned into the contact for a second or two before the other went about collecting once more.
She seemed to think about question for a moment before she nodded, "You may stay with me for as long as you would like, Dearest," she murmured softly with a small smile.

Almost as quickly as he had grabbed the last one, another came into his reach and he wrapped his hand around it.
"Next time, you..."
He shook his head to clear it. He wasn't sure what these fragments were saying, or if it was just babble. He was leaning towards that. None of it made any sense.

A fragment slipped out of her grasp when she tried to catch it. She pouted, but only for a second or two.

"You are good as well," she said simply with a widening smile on her face. She liked this person. Something about their energy was just very nice and catching. She mostly took to following quietly, "I am...Atictel. Do you have a name?"
...Of course they did. Such a silly question.

Where was she? Fog was swirling everything, almost, but not quite, obscuring the twisting branches of what looked like rock jutting out in every which way. For a brief moment she did nothing but stare around her, unsure of what to do. Lost.
Then something caught her eye, a tiny, glimmering fragment , and she snatched at it, drawing it up to peer at it.
An image of an island flashed through her mind, as dark and foggy as the place she was currently standing, but what was it. Just a quick imagine, there and gone, with not so much as a feeling to place with it.

There were more shards flicking about, now that she knew what to look for. They weren't terribly eye catching, but then what was in this place? Everything was gray and though she didn't know why, her surroundings gave her an uneasy feeling deep down in her core.
Trying not to dwell on it, she scooped up another fragment, then couldn't help the sudden urge to smirk as something else came back to her. Fists pounding into another body, driving them back. The addictive taste of victory.
She wanted more.

"Yacha," she said. "My name is Yacha, that's what I remembered anyway." She gave Atictel a quick, sweet, smile. "I like your name too. It's pretty."
A fragment floated by, and she jumped for it, her hands snapping closed to trap it. A low and guttural growl made her freeze briefly, her tail tucking down, but she remembered Atictel's advice; the Goddess had told her to collect fragments, and obeying the Goddess was being good, even if the fragments frightened her. It was all right, and now she had three.

There were voices around her, Coyote turned her attention momentarily towards two other figures, both as gray as she was.
It was a comfort to know she wasn't alone, and quietly she picked her way towards them, one small, hazy hand raising in greeting.
A fragment drifted near her leg, and she bent and scooped it up, cradling it to her chest as she offered the other two figures a smile.

He had apparently found a good spot for harvesting these things, and he snagged another. Maybe he'd be able to get all five of them without having to move again, and then he'd see about exploring this place.
Or something.
He was only slightly listening to what the fragment said, something about a field trip, looking instead for another to grab.
